The hardest part is over, Let it in Let your clarity define you ERIN AOIFE PATRICK ==================================== Erin slipped into the area of the pool, her eyes skipping around the room, taking in the details and looking for signs of other people. It was around eight in the evening and she’d snuck out of her dorm past her studying roommate Tessa. Sometimes Erin found Tessa extremely fun and other times she had to remind herself that Tessa wanted and needed an education. Tonight, she had left the girl be and trekked to the pool in a pair of jean short shorts and a green bikini. She had a towel over her shoulder which was the Irish flag, and as she entered she dropped it onto a lounge chair beside the pool.
Erin slipped out of the shorts silently. It wasn’t really advised to go swimming by yourself in the late evening. In fact, it was a terrible idea. Erin didn’t care. Worst case scenario, Ireland would end up flooding and sinking into the sea. Okay...that made the idea even worse!! Erin walked along the side of the pool to the deeper end and glanced around again. Sometimes the only activities she could think of were not the smartest ones. She’d spent enough time restless in her dorm. Pushing the reasons aside she walked across the diving board and glanced down at the still surface.
She glanced around again and then shook her head before jumping into the pool and swimming underwater to the other end before resurfacing. The water was cool and refreshing. The weather being over 30’C had helped warm the water. Night time was the only time Erin wanted to be outside. She was having enough problems with her economy to make her ill without the hot weather amplifying the feeling. She had a mild headache all afternoon, but she was finally feeling good.
Erin started swimming circles around the outside of the pool, her mind elsewhere. All the various countries having come to this one school was a bit overwhelming. Erin had come because of instructions from her boss. Apparently, so had the others. It fit better having a group of young adults here than old politicians. She was still surprised more people didn’t notice how strange the group of them were. Erin wasn’t exactly being overly covert though. Her on paper courses suggested she was here for Agriculture. Erin wasn’t actually that keen on studying it, though she did love gardening...

Ildri wanted to go swimming for a bit, which was probably weird considering the fact that she was a bird on fire after all. Just so long as there weren’t really people around they wouldn’t notice the fact that she would probably cause some steam to rise due to her skin running much hotter than your average human’s. That was due to the fact that she wasn’t actually human though. Ah well, there were quite a few of those here though, and if it was any of them at the pool why would it matter? They could easily be told what she was and they probably wouldn’t be all that surprised at it. After all, if she knew what they were and wasn’t that much of a shock then why would what she was be a shock? Though she knew she was kind of flaunting her ability to breathe fire at Alfred’s party, but then again she was also extremely drunk off quite a lot of whiskey that was for sure. Drunk even to the point where she told Logan what she was as he carried her back to her room. That was not fun to explain in the morning that was for sure.
Thus she changed into some form of a pink bikini, put on a bathing suit cover-up dress, grabbed a blue towel and wandered her way down to the pool. It wasn’t a long walk, but she was born in a time of some modesty and so she wasn’t about to walk down in just a bikini that was for sure. The girl had gotten used to wearing them over the years when she wanted to go swimming, but that was about as far as she would go with it. Wear them during swimming and then if she left the pool she’d put something over it before doing so. She supposed a towel worked just as well, but she didn’t really want to wear just that. The phoenix didn’t bother with shoes though, but she did bring her phone in case someone decided they needed to get in touch with her. She also brought her keys being that she kind of needed them to get back into her room unless she fancied lighting her outfit on fire and flying through an open window. Usually she didn’t like or want to do that being that it brought up the issue of people seeing her as her bird form and she didn’t like burning through her clothes usually.
Anyway though she walked into the room and spotted a girl she had seen last night. It was…..she didn’t think she caught her name really actually. Though she did see the way she spoke to Alfred, who appeared to be Alfred’s brother, and Ivan so she was assuming this girl was probably like them. That, and the way she was drinking made it seem like she was older than she appeared. Most people were unable to put that much away without a bit of experience that was for sure. Either way she took off the bathing suit cover and set the dress, phone, and keys on a bench before sticking her feet in the pool and eyeing the steam that came up lightly before dropping herself in the pool. ”I don’t think I caught your name at the party. I’m Ildri.” she said with a slight smile.

The hardest part is over, Let it in Let your clarity define you ERIN AOIFE PATRICK ==================================== Erin resurfaced and tried to appear non-attentive when the girl walked in. Erin recognized her from the party Alfred threw and had her written down in her journal as “red head” because she didn’t know the girl’s name. She knew she breathed fire and had assumed that meant fire manipulation. But the steam that rose when the girl climbed into the pool suggested something more. Erin didn’t comment but took in the girl’s form and the pink bikini. She didn’t know whether the other girl was the type she could be friends with or not, so she didn’t say anything until the other spoke up.
Erin smiled as the girl seemed to remember her she might as well be somewhat pleasant. ”Ildri? That’s a unique name. I am Erin.”
She offered. She focused on trying to remember the party, her mind skimming over the details she remembered. She remembered feeding Kuma Whisky, Drinking with Ivan and separately with Logan after that. She remembered lots of fireworks...and singing Fireworks by Katy Perry in the Fireworks. And Ildri and Logan were both lighting the fireworks without lighters. She remembered handing out alcohol and was pretty sure she had given Ildri whisky. It was all a bit hazy. She also remembered waking up the next morning with a bear on her face and in bed with Mattie, both of them in their underclothes, with no idea what they actually had done that night. ”You were the one lighting off the fireworks with your fire breath right?” Erin asked for confirmation, not trusting her memory. Being as drunk as she was, even Erin had a hangover. You don’t down a crap load of 40% Whisky and remember everything the next morning. Erin could down a lot of alcohol in a short time and even more over the course of a day without too much effect, but lots of it in a short time but long enough to over drink...yeah, that party had knocked her on her ass. ”So how do you know Alfred?” Erin decided to ask, dunking herself and coming up to straighten out her hair behind her. Having as much hair as she did it was often a good idea to braid it before swimming but Erin couldn’t be bothered tonight. ”Me and him have been friends for a while.” Erin offered. She left out the part where they had dated back in 1845 till 1850. That would have been difficult to explain. Erin was still unaware that Ildri knew about the Nations.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Ildri Lumen •• •• Words • 421 •• •• Outfit • A Green Bikini. Ildri wanted to go swimming despite the weird looks she would probably get, and thus she damn well would. Besides, how weird could it be that someone involved with fire ran a little warmer than average? Well, unless they were fire it would probably not add up correctly. Technically though, she was slightly made of fire and thus for her it fit, but nobody really knew that so it was kind of pointless. Anyway though she was at the pool and there was steam rising from her a bit. She probably would have had better luck blending in if she was in a hot tub, but she the school didn’t exactly have one and she wanted to cool off not heat up. Anyway though, it seemed the girl with green hair from the other night was responding to her statement and Ildri smiled at the statement of her name being called unique.
”Nice to officially meet you then Erin.” she said with a slight smile. It was easy enough to meet people when you were plastered, but you didn’t really tend to remember much about them. Which, honestly she didn’t know much other than the fact that she had a lot of whiskey last night and seemed to know a few nation people rather well. Enough to be cozy with them and drag Alfred’s brother home with her after Alfred basically auctioned him off against his will. That was, rather interesting to watch honestly. Did that make her one of them then? It was entirely possible, but it would take more figuring out she assumed. Which was fine with her, but the way the girl had a flag towel was a little interesting. She wasn’t sure whether she was being blatantly obvious, or oblivious to what she was doing.
The next comment made her smile again. ”Yeah, that was me. I have a tendency to like lighting things on fire when I get drunk, and that seemed like the way to make sure nobody got lit on fire.” she stated simply with a shrug. It was true enough after all, and while she may have not had as much as some others, it was enough to make a few details rather fuzzy. She only remembered about half of the fireworks she actually lit, and the conversation she had with Logan as he carried her home was definitely a little blurry. She knew enough to realize she had to explain things in the morning though. This was not the best thing in the world when you had a killer hangover from drinking more than you had in quite a few years. Ah well, the night was over and it was time to swim and relax a bit. Thus she would chat with Erin for a bit and swim. She didn’t want to do school work right now so this seemed like the best plan aside from just wandering the grounds. She wasn’t feeling going out into the bright sun though so thus wasn’t going to.
The next question made her shrug a bit. ”He’s dating my roommate, and ended up barging into my room while looking for hers. He’s apparently never heard of knocking. Or if he has he figured he could walk in anyway for some reason.” she said with a slight hint of annoyance. It was extremely impolite to just waltz into a lady’s room without permission of any sort. The fact that he had was mildly annoying to the red-haired girl of course. Hearing the comment she shrugged a bit. That could be a huge range of dates depending on if the girl was a nation or if she met him before coming to the school.

The hardest part is over, Let it in Let your clarity define you ERIN AOIFE PATRICK ==================================== Erin hadn’t bothered to really comment on the steam. It was unusual sure, but this was a school for the gifted. Ildri had breathed fire. So why wouldn’t that be a possible side effect of her gift? She didn’t think twice about it and strange looks in this school were more than normal. They were expected! Erin wasn’t one to care about blending in. She loved a good reaction. Then again, her country’s colors were orange and green...an atrocious combination and a bright one. Standing out was just what she did. From personality, to her drinking to her being the personification of a nation, Erin didn’t blend in. At least not in all versions of the word.
Erin grinned, ”It’s a pleasure I am sure.”
Erin offered. Erin really didn’t know if Ildri had introduced herself before now. In fact, if she had been introduced, Erin didn’t care. She didn’t remember and it was hardly something to apologize for. Everyone at that party had gotten shitfaced. Erin wasn’t aware how much Ildri remembered, but anyone at that party was at risk of knowing about them being nations. Well, not her personally, but at least Alfred. Erin didn’t bother trying to find out. This time, it really wasn’t her problem. Erin laughed when the smile hit Ildri’s face and she mentioned a tendency to light things on fire. ”Understatement much? You were lighting up the sky...or wait...no it wasn’t just you. But it is still an understatement!” Erin could swear as the time passed she was forgetting that day more and more quickly. Damn she had tanked herself. And it took a LOT to tank Erin. It was like trying to fill Alfred up with Hamburgers. There was never enough hamburgers...well there was never enough booze!! One of the benefits of Erin’s situation was that the hangover was mild. Erin had been drinking so long and so much that hangovers were a bit weak for her. It was a good thing of course. But her illness from the economy issues had made the hangover worse than if she had been healthy. In fact, Erin had been struggling with bouts of sickness since, paying for her partying. She’d managed to keep it under wraps however, and few realized she was ill at all. On the bad day it just appeared she had skipped class. Erin’s eyes darkened a bit, but unless Ildri was paying attention it wasn’t likely she’d notice. The slight raise in the strength of the breezy was more likely to be noticed. ”Oh...so Chaya is your roommate? Erin asked, sounding almost disinterested but slightly irritated at that. It wasn’t directed at Ildri but Erin’s jealousy was running high as much as her emotions tended to when she felt under the weather. ”Alfred never did appreciate privacy...I sort of like that about him...” Erin offered, her voice sounding very different than the previous comment. Her tone was softer and her amusement written all over her face as well as a slight suggestion to it of the appreciation she was talking about. ”Me and Alfred have history...” Erin explained. She didn’t say more than that, not wanting to give anything away that wasn’t already apparent. The less people who knew about the whole nation thing the better...[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Ildri Lumen •• •• Words • 546 •• •• Outfit • A Green Bikini. Ildri definitely enjoyed this school more than others she had gone to. Less people questioned her about the oddities she seemed to show at times. It let her blend in a little more than usual, and so when she had heard about it she decided it would be nice to fit in for once. Honestly it was nice, and maybe she would even run into someone similar to herself eventually. Well, she had already run into a few immortal beings, but they weren’t exactly like her. They were nations, so a little bit different, but still someone she could talk to for a few hundred years without any worry about them going and dying of old age on her. Either way she was definitely wondering if this girl was like that, and she was guessing she might be judging by all the Ireland colors and how friendly she was with others who she knew to be nations already. Would only make sense, unless of course she was just an extremely friendly person, and that was possible, but it was hard to say that for sure.
Ildri had not introduced herself before now, had just been handed alcohol while Erin was running through and handing it out to everyone. Even if she had, she doubted either of them would really remember names, because names were not something she remembered almost any of at the party. She was sure a few people had stated their names, but for the life of her she couldn’t place them. Maybe she just sucked at names, or maybe it was the fact she was drinking. It seemed to her to be one of the few things she didn’t remember, but maybe she was missing a chunk in the middle somewhere because she remembered Logan waking her up, but not falling asleep, or passing out was it? Anyway though she gave a smile at Erin’s statement of it being a pleasure to meet her and nodded her head a bit.
Then they were talking about her habit of lighting things on fire and she smiled again at Erin stating she was lighting up the sky. ”I like fireworks. They’re much prettier than just your average fire, and when you don’t have to worry about a lighter…it’s far easier to light a bunch in a row. Same goes for being fireproof.” she noted with another grin. Why worry about getting burned if you were fireproof? Not like you could get hurt even if one hit you if that was the case. It was a nice polite conversation they were having, and Ildri found she was enjoying it. They weren’t really asking too much about one another, it was just casual acquaintance conversation where she wouldn’t have to lie about what she was really. She never claimed to be a fire manipulator, but that was basically how she came off, and the details she gave mostly fit with that. It wouldn’t make sense to be able to be burned if you controlled fire after all. That would just be stupid, and asking to get yourself hurt.
The next topic of roommate discussion seemed to almost hit a nerve with the girl in front of her, and she was certainly confused as to why. ”Yeah. She’s a little odd, but she leaves my stuff alone at least. I don’t really know her very well.” she noted with a shrug. Like Ildri had any room to talk about odd? Sure she knew about Chaya, but before meeting Alfred she had just been polite but distant towards the girl and thus hadn’t bothered to get to know her. That was just how Ildri was though unless she was really in the mood for some sort of conversation. Even if she was raised by humans she did like her space and was sometimes quite the solitary person. Hearing about how Alfred never appreciated privacy, and that Erin liked that about him, Ildri shrugged. ”Not everyone minds it, and some even like it. I am just not partial to people trying to pry where they don’t belong.” she stated simply. Now she was sort of okay with what Alfred did, but it still annoyed her that he had done it in the first place. Didn’t he have any sort of manners? Then Erin said that she and Alfred had history. ”Are you like him then?” she asked simply deciding that the girl could take it how she wanted if she wasn’t a nation. It would be kind of an obvious answer at this point after all.

The hardest part is over, Let it in Let your clarity define you ERIN AOIFE PATRICK ==================================== Erin was not aware of just how many people already knew about the Nation secret. It was a staggering number, given the required secrecy of it. The last thing people needed to know is that the countries were flesh beings as well, and more than able to be controlled. Erin hadn’t spilt the beans to anyone and though she hadn’t been that obvious, several people appeared to just know who she was, and it had sort of started to irritate her. Part of her was fine with it, part of her knew these people were put in danger by that knowledge. Erin often had a hard time considering others above herself, but she also understood the larger scheme issues of this one truth. She was after all a huge part of it.
Erin nodded her head in understanding of what Ildri was saying. ”Burns are a pain. I guess you wouldn’t know that though. So if you are fire proof, is it because you are already fire based in your physical being or do you just repel it? Is that part of your gift? I mean, pyrokinesis in itself isn’t uncommon around the school if I hazard a guess, especially given there were two of you at the party. But that does add more to it.”
Ildri may not be aware that Erin was trying to gain what information she could about her. Erin had a job to do after all, and Erin was far from the best ‘spy’ type. She was going to have to socialize and hope people were loose enough with their information. Erin listened to Ildri’s description of Chaya and mumbled a brief ”If only she’d leave my stuff alone...”. She was actually referring to a very specific instance. That being Alfred. Erin had been Alfred’s first real girlfriend. She had been his first partner. She’d been his first...a lot of things. Erin may not be dating him anymore, but she found that once he had someone else, she’d have given a lot to change that so that she was. Chaya was like a wall between her and Alfred. She hated Chaya for it, and other days she despise Alfred for it. Some days she wanted Alfred more than anyone, and other days she wished Alfred was in a whole world of hurt for being her emotional outlet and then not being serious about their relationship. Since then, Erin hadn’t tried for a serious relationship. She was finally ready for what Alfred had to offer, but it was too later. Erin still slept with him from time to time, but Alfred seemed pretty oblivious to the fact that for Erin it was emotional as much as physical. Erin smiled politely, even though her stomach was now churning from a mix of economic issues and her emotions upsetting it. Erin dealt with the nausea all the time, it was the fluttering in her stomach from the emotions that had caused the upset. ”I appreciate Alfred’s lack of privacy. It’s refreshing when someone doesn’t shout at you for invading their space. You can’t ask for that and not expect that...hence why I enjoy it.” Erin offered. Erin’s face was neutral for a moment, just staring at Ildri and then her expression darkened a bit. ”Define “like him”?” she retorted, her tone cautious and with a hint of warning in it. The friendly nature was gone and now replaced with a mix of anger, caution and distrust. Erin didn’t like the secret of what they were being out. She was afraid of what it might mean and what it might lead to. And with how Ildri worded it, she had to guess Alfred was the one who Ildri found out from, assuming she knew at all and wasn’t just accidentally asking the perfect question. No...this wasn’t a coincidence no matter how Erin tried to convince herself it was. So Ildri knew about the nation secret, but that probably had something to do with her being immortal and about to set Alfred on fire for walking in her room. If that was all it took to get him to spill a secret she did not like the idea that he had one of hers. After all, if you can’t die what is the big deal about being set on fire? She certainly didn’t see the deal in it, but that might be due to her being fireproof or something along those lines. Fire couldn’t hurt her, and she wasn’t sure if it could hurt nations either. Judging by his reaction though she was going to go right out and guess it could hurt them. It probably wouldn’t be as permanent as with a human though. They didn’t tend to deal well with being lit on fire, or well nobody did she supposed. Anyway, that wasn’t important and she was trying to make conversation so staring off into space a bit wouldn’t do well. Thus she pushed her thoughts aside and listened to Erin.
Seemed that burns did hurt them, that is if she really was like them which she was thinking she was, but anyway. There was a question for Ildri in there about her abilities. So they were dancing around with questions towards one another, but it definitely seemed like a normal conversation at a school like this. ”I think it’s more due to because if I wasn’t I would probably have burned myself to death. A body self-defense of sorts. Really, why have something if it’s just going to cause you a ridiculous amount of pain?” she noted simply with a shrug. It was easy enough to answer without having to lie. After all, she literally was composed of fire, and being fireproof only made sense with such an ability. Then she heard the comment about Chaya not leaving Erin’s stuff alone.
”Could always yell at her or something if it bothers you.” she noted without realizing what the girl was talking about at all. It was also a fair point when talking about personal items. If they weren’t talking about personal items then clearly it didn’t work, but in the context that was something that it seemed like, and thus that was the reply that Erin got. Then she stated that she appreciated the lack of privacy, but that was what she gave in return, so that made sense. ”If that is what you like or do yourself it’s fine, but if you don’t….it’s kind of annoying. Usually it’s best to figure out the person before deciding whether that is the best route or not.” she noted with a shrug. For some people it worked, and for some it was quite the opposite. She, for one, did not like her privacy being blatantly invaded. Especially so by strangers who seemed to realize how old she was because of the pictures she had in her room.
The expression she was getting made her shrug. ”He’s really bad at secrets, and the party….” she noted simply with a slight frown. It really was easy enough to tell who was far more familiar with Alfred at the party with how they acted, and the more familiar they were, chances were they knew one another longer than a typical human would. Besides, if Erin wasn’t like him, then maybe she wouldn’t have any idea what she was talking about and they would move on. The look she was getting though, said a bit more about the situation.

The hardest part is over, Let it in Let your clarity define you ERIN AOIFE PATRICK ==================================== Erin was of course completely unaware of what Ildri was. She considered the girl to be just another gifted. It wasn’t like it was a common thing to run into an animal from legend with the ability to appear human. In fact the very idea never even once crossed Erin’s mind. She immediately saw anyone who knew the secret and shouldn’t as a threat, especially because most of them were high risk to themselves. If the various governments found out, what were a couple humans in the scheme of things? They would surely do what they could to keep the information quiet. Wouldn’t be the first time her own government went out of their way to keep the nation secret. If Erin ever found out how Ildri knew, she’d have been even more inclined to inform her government that Ildri was aware. Erin was somewhat protective of Alfred, mostly because of her raging emotions toward him.
Erin laughed. ”I guess that is the risk of fire. But just because you use it doesn’t mean you are guaranteed to be immune to it.”
Erin explained, trying to have the girl understand her question. ”So is it that it just doesn’t burn you even if it can touch you, or can it not even come close to harming you?” she asked out of mostly curiosity but a large part of it was her job nagging at the back of her mind. Even if these people were aware of the nation secret, it was best if they were not aware of the scouting purpose for the Nations being here. Erin managed to maintain her smile, despite the desire to scoff. She couldn’t exactly approach Chaya and demand that she leave Alfred alone. Not only was that bad politics but it was bound to result in angry feelings from Alfred. ”I only wish things were that simple.” She didn’t bother elaborating and had no intent of answering further questions on that matter. Erin considered what the girl was saying and shrugged. ”I can see how you may find it irritating. It’s not like you change in the main room of the dorm, or that you have person things sitting around he could walk off with. Seems fairly harmless to me. Does the irritation come in because he’s a boy in a girls dorm or because He’s Alfred?” Asked with an amused expression on her face. Erin wasn’t exactly one for privacy. Hell, Alfred had seen her completely naked of course, given they dated. He had also seen her completely covered in his blood. Erin had no reason to hide anything from Alfred. Him barging in for any reason was beyond harmless, it became a point of amusement. Erin buried her face in her hands a moment in frustration. ”He is the worst person to give a secret to. I swear!!! He shouldn’t even be allowed to speak to other people. That fool!!” Clearly she had just answered Ildri’s question; the fact that she was not only aware but raving at his lack if secrecy answered the question clearly enough. Then again, she had bright green hair, spoke with an Irish accent, had obsessive drinking problems and was more than a little decked out in Irish stuff. Okay…she had to work on her own subtlety. What Ildri was, in a way, was slightly complicated. How she even existed in general was a mystery to her certainly. What all she could do, was another mystery to the girl. Really some of it she wasn’t sure how to go about, and more research was needed in order for her to figure everything out. Though, she doubted that much of her research would be in a library. The girl was probably going to have to go ancient, and maybe even get in contact with some more nation representatives to get ahold of what she needed. Or maybe she just needed to learn how to speak like the creature of legend she represented. That required finding her parents or another phoenix though, and that was quite complicated for sure. Especially being that she then had to learn the language, and while she was young for a phoenix, she was old in a way and thus it wasn’t the easiest for her to learn new languages on top of the ones she already knew. Sure a bird language would be drastically different, and that was what would make it difficult. She had no basis for what things would mean at all. So she was probably going to have to rely more on old books from cultures that believed in a creature like her.
Erin started talking again and Ildri moved around in the water a bit. She had a point that not everyone was immune to it because they controlled it. There was a bit of a difference with Ildri though being that she was fire. How could you be burned by something you were? It was like a human poking another human and causing a burn. The question made her smile slightly. ”I’ve lit myself on fire on accident before. It didn’t hurt. Was kind of fun actually.” she stated with a grin. That was possibly quite weird to hear someone say that, but it was a mutant school and Ildri knew she was quite weird as it was. After all, not many people didn’t fit in this time period when they looked about twenty. She did try to fit in with the times, but sometimes it was hard, and she was realizing. The further she got in her cycle, the harder it usually was. When she was reborn again, languages and styles were far easier to pick up, and that gave her an idea. Unfortunately, she didn’t want to wait almost five hundred years to figure out what her powers were and what they could do.
The statement, about things not being that simple, made Ildri shrug. ”It was worth a shot.” she said with a vague smile towards the other girl. Seemed that Erin didn’t really want to continue that part of their conversation, and so Ildri would move on. Then there was discussion about why it was a big deal he burst into her dorm. Her dorm was fine, it was her bedroom she didn’t like him bursting into. ”I don’t think you quite understand. He burst into not only my dorm, but my bedroom. I have quite a few…priceless memories on my walls. Honestly he doesn’t strike me as the delicately handling things type.” she said with a slight sigh. She was guessing this by the way he just burst in without any care for the possibility of someone being by the door or anything. Then she mentioned Alfred was bad at secrets, and Erin seemed to be horribly frustrated. ”Is being bad at secrets his superpower? I’m wary of him knowing about some things about me as well. They should put him in a box or something.” she said in a slight joking manner. ”Ireland’s a nice place though, I’ve been there a few times.” she said as if it fit into the conversation. It was pretty obvious that if she was a nation, it was clearly that one.

The hardest part is over, Let it in Let your clarity define you ERIN AOIFE PATRICK ==================================== Erin floated her legs up so she was floating on the surface instead of treading water. She let her body relax and let the water do what it would to keep her on the surface. She didn’t notice the other’s slight smile as a result, her eyes staring upward as she drifted in the water. She listened to the answer to her question. She already knew the girl was fire-proof. She had said as much. So hearing she lit herself on fire by accident and that it was kind of fun didn’t really surprise Erin either. ”What about your clothes?! Don’t you go through a lot of clothes?!”
she asked. Erin’s biggest concern with fire would be the damage to things that would need replacing. She was glad she was not pyrokinetic. Then again she also was a bit useless at using her own power, given it was emotionally driven. She got angry and shit started flying. If she was happy a gentle breezy…it was completely out of her control. At least in terms of willing it to do things. If she was angry and wanted to knock a cabinet over it would work, but that was hardly ‘control’. Erin nodded in agreement with Ildri’s idea that it was worth a shot. Anything was worth at least an attempt. Erin knew better than to just up and say to Chaya “I saw him first!!”. It didn’t quite work that way. And had she saw him first?! Had Alfred known Chaya first? Given the history of Israel, Chaya had to be much older than Erin and Erin had only seen him first on the day of his becoming a nation versus a colony. Had Chaya seen him when he was a colony? Erin had once asked him if he had met any other female nations, his answer implied know but it hadn’t been definitive. Did Chaya really have more of a claim than Erin? Erin forced the idea away. Of course not! Erin dated him first so she had the right regardless!! Erin’s mouth formed into an “o” as she realized what Ildri meant. What reason did Alfred have to burst into a bed room?! Erin wouldn’t have minded but clearly Ildri had something in her room to hide. ”Were you doing something you were not supposed to?” She asked jokingly after the full explanation. It was true, Alfred wasn’t the most cautious guy. But to be fair he also had super strength and if controlling that was anything like her power, she couldn’t blame Alfred. She couldn’t understand why a few photos would matter so much to Ildri…of course they could be something else but from the description ‘priceless memories’ Erin was led to believe they were photos. Maybe they were autographed? Erin laughed as Ildri suggested that maybe being bad at keeping secrets was his super power and about putting him in a box. ”It would make sense If it was, maybe boxes are his kryptonite? He isn’t exactly subtle…about anything.” Erin tacked on the last part with a tone that suggested she had just noticed. ”I don’t know why I continue to be surprised when he gives away a secret.” She added. ”He won’t bring them up unless someone else gets him on the topic. The secret I have is the same as the one he has and when he reveals himself he reveals us all…” Erin explained, assuring Ildri her secrets, whatever they were, would be much safer. Or at least more safe than Erin’s big secret. Erin didn’t even bother asking how Ildri knew she was Ireland. It was obvious. So instead she just smiled and then looked surprised when Ildri mentioned having been there. ”Really? I am glad you enjoyed it. I find home to be beautiful in a way other parts of the world could never be…” She said, sounding proud. Of course she sounded proud, Ireland’s beauty was personified by her. So naturally Erin found herself to be quite beautiful, she just kept that opinion of herself in check to prevent it from becoming an ugly personality quirk. Ildri watched as Erin floated and just swam around a little. It was a very quiet day it seemed, or maybe that was just at the pool it seemed quiet. Either way, she found herself enjoying it and having a simple conversation with the country of Ireland. Nothing abnormal there, or at least not in this school there wasn’t. If you told someone that you had a conversation with a nation anywhere else they would simply think you were insane. Well, alright, anyone that didn’t know the secret would still think you were insane mutant school or not. She wasn’t about to go around advertising it though being that she wanted her secret kept and thus wanted to return the favor. The question made Ildri shrug a bit. ”Sometimes. I don’t light myself on fire very often for that reason actually.” she noted simply. It was true enough being that buying clothes or making them took time and money. Sure she had the money to do so, but shopping could be such a pain at times. Besides, she’d accumulated quite a few clothes over the years, so she was in no danger of running out any time soon. Though, maybe she should look into ordering some fireproof fabric. Couldn’t hurt that was for sure, and it would be far easier for her to shift in and out of her bird form if she didn’t burst her clothes into flames when doing so.
It seemed that Erin agreed that it was at least worth a shot, and if it didn’t work then there wasn’t much you could do about it. She really did wonder what it was that her roommate took of Erin’s though. It was a curious thought, but she wasn’t about to ask. It would probably be rude, and she could do without knowing. Not like it was anything important that could cause a huge catfight or anything. Well, at least she didn’t think so. It seemed realization hit Erin when Ildri said that Alfred had barged into her bedroom. The question made her shrug a bit. ”Unless I’m not supposed to be looking for snacks in my own kitchen….that would be a no. I feel though that it’s common courtesy that if your significant other has a roommate that you don’t know, you should probably at least knock and not just assume which room is whoever you’re looking for’s. At least announce that you are there with a hello or something.” she noted with a sigh. ”I….have no way of replacing anything in that room. Usually I leave it locked, but I was there so it was open.” she explained slightly.
Seemed her comment about being bad at secrets was Alfred’s power was a super power. ”It really would, him and my roommate both. She has photos of her from inhumanly long ago in the living room.” she noted with a slight roll of her eyes. ”We could always test the theory, but we’d need a pretty big box. Maybe find one for a refrigerator.” she noted with a slight giggle. ”He also probably knows that I would light him on fire.” she noted with a slight smile. She’d certainly done it to people for less than giving away a secret. It seemed that Erin was surprised she had been there a few times. ”I’ve been all over the world. Each place has it’s pretty parts and it’s not so pretty parts. Some of the scenery in Ireland is quite lovely; though I’m sure some of it has changed by now. It has been a while since I’ve been to Ireland.” she noted with a shrug. It was probably closer to around a hundred years, but that counted as a while to her, so thus she didn’t have to really explain in too much detail. Though she did wonder about what Erin thought of her being all around the world.

The hardest part is over, Let it in Let your clarity define you ERIN AOIFE PATRICK ==================================== Erin was finding the pool quite peaceful. It generally wasn’t suggested to swim when you are not feeling well, but Erin found that the chance for some quiet and relaxation was always good for you, be it in the pool or otherwise. Ildri was making for decent company and Erin wasn’t irritated or sick of her yet. So for now, it remained enjoyable enough. ”Can’t say I blame you”
Erin retorted with a smile. That would definitely be an annoying issue with that sort of ability. Erin wondered how Ildri even found out she could light herself on fire but didn’t bother to ask. It wasn’t needed for the current conversation. She had said it was an accident after all. Well…despite Ildri’s thoughts on the matter, her misinformation was certain to come back and bite her in the ass. Erin’s feelings toward Chaya were never that positive to begin with. But recently, she had found she was having more and more petty reasons to hate the girl. The most petty of all being Alfred. It was likely to result in some uncomfortable situations because Erin didn’t let things go. She fought for what she wanted and right now, that meant making problems for Chaya. It never even occurred to Erin that maybe problems for Chaya meant problems for Alfred, so long as she got what she wanted it was hard for her to see anything else. Thankfully that part of the conversation had halted, but the thoughts were almost always with Erin. ”Hmm….I can see where he went wrong. In fact, I’d likely make the same mistake. He just wanted to see Chaya. He didn’t think about it. He just did it. That’s what Alfred does…” Erin explained, finding a smile at the thought. ”There have been more than a few amusing moments where Alfred just forgot to think,” Erin laughed. ”He should have done many things, but he didn’t. He was just excited to see Chaya and everyone else be damned.” She added, trying to keep the bitterness from her tone. ”He’s done that more than once too…focused in on something and not considered anyone else.” she said, trying to sound like she was redirecting the bitterness she pretty much failed to hide. It was an honest statement but left room for assumptions. Erin’s eyes widened in surprise when Ildri mentioned Chaya keeping photos of her long live in the living room. ”What? She has what?! Just wait till her boss hears about this one!! I can’t believe she’d be so…so…careless!!” Erin said, sounding more and more irritable. Given Alfred’s inability to keep secrets you’d think she’d shrug it off. But it was Chaya and this was just another opportunity for her to direct her already existing anger. Erin laughed when Ildri suggested a fridge box. ”I imagine we’d have to reinforce it with the strongest materials known to man for that to work. Alfred would knock over a box far too quickly.” She laughed. She picture him bursting out of the box, much to her own amusement. Erin smiled when the girl mentioned having been all over the world. A traveler at such a young age? Erin tried not to think in terms of age but rather experience. ”Where were you last there? Other than the economic issues it is pretty much what it has always been…” Erin offered. To her, yes it was like it has always been because she didn’t feel like she had changed. To someone who knew Erin they may notice the changes in her much more completely than Erin did. The terrain had minor changes each year, but the people were very similar to what they had always been, just add some new technology.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Ildri Lumen •• •• Words • 621 •• •• Outfit • A Green Bikini.
