We stick together and can see it through Cause you've got a friend in me DESNA SIKU EREBUS ==================================== A park was the perfect place to take the dogs. Desna had been training dogs for sledding since they had been brought to Antarctica in the 1900s. He had gotten his first puppies in 1931 and had been training them ever since. His dogs were family to him. When you trusted a group of animals to labour with you, pull you around and keep you company, you got a bit attached. As a result, when Des had decided to come join the party that was happening on Prince Edward Island, he grabbed his best friends and immediately hopped a plane. Thank god for his personal connections of hopping a plane with all his dogs would have been out of the question.
Desna’s dogs all walked with him, not pulling or pushing but comfortable. Once he got to the open he started unhooking his friends to allow them some freedom. He had all of them with him, his whole sled team and a special retired member of the team. He had his lead dog Atka, His point dog Sesi, His two Team dogs Nanuk and Shesh, His two Wheel Dogs Tanana and Kayuh and his beloved Kapik, a retired member of the team but a former Wheel Dog. All of them got close to allow him to let them loose and they stayed near enough regardless. Kayuh occasionally wandered a bit, but the other dogs would shepherd her back toward Desna.
Desna wasn’t quite like most at the school. He was gifted sure, but he wasn’t human. At the same time, he wasn’t a nation like the other non-humans either. Desna was just a continent really. He was the personified Antarctica and he’d been around since 1821. You’d never guess from looking at him. He looked significantly younger then a lot of the nations, though not dreadfully so. He appeared to be maybe seventeen. And even that may be pushing it a bit. He’d been claiming to be eighteen since arriving at the college and that was stretching his visual age to its utmost point. Des wasn’t here to snoop or report to anyone like most of the Hetalians. He had just heard there was a gathering here and had come to join in the fun. It wasn’t often he had an excuse to leave home...even if he found home much more comfortable. Everywhere was just too hot.
Des parked himself on a bench, his dogs wandering around him, occasionally they’d check on him and see what he was up to, but mostly they left him alone. Des had packed a ton of water for them in his bag as well as a few rope toys which he pulled out and tossed, causing a tug of war between Nanuk and Shesh...those two were competitive, having been puppies together. Kayuh was in the middle of harassing Kapik to try to get him to play when she dropped the toy and bounded onto the park path, as if she heard something. She bounded up to someone sitting in front of them with big eyes and a rapidly swishing tail.

JUST LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDERShoney, ooh, i'll be there, i'll be thereWHENEVER YOU NEED ME, I'LL BE THERE---------------------------------------------------------------------- The park was a perfect place for her to allow her favorite people freedom as it's been too long since they had run around and play. There were her two angels, Diamont and Perle, running off to some adventure and mischief. Sne trotted next to her while his litter-mates (though they weren't exactly, but they were raised together all the same), Rav and Smaragd went to catch squirrels. The matepair, Morgen and Nat were keeping the peace when Chokolade leapt onto Rav. Morgen growled at Chokolade and she just panted innocently. Naja laughed at the excitement of her pack because everybody would have notice her people weren't human, nation, or anything else but dogs, but they were hers and she loved them.
Naja walked around the large area of the park and stopped when a beautiful girl came over to her and sat down in front of them with a wagging tail. Naja smiled and offered her hand so the girl would know her scent before stroking her silky furred head. "Hello girl, I'm Naja," she introduced herself. "Who might you be?" She grinned down into those big puppy eyes. "Aww! I can't resist," she whispered and kneels down to be level with this beautiful girl.
She just loved dogs, Sne whimpered a bit beside her, and sniff at the arrival of this female, and here comes Perle to check out the newcomer. Perle sniffed the air while Sne kept an eye out for danger. "Sne, you need to relax, my boy," Naja laughed and patted Perle, hugging her. "This is Perle and that boy is Sne," she told the wagging tail beauty sweetly.

We stick together and can see it through Cause you've got a friend in me DESNA SIKU EREBUS ==================================== Des turned to see his lovely Kayuh sitting in front of a familiar face. Kayuh wouldn’t have met Naja, but at least Kapik recognized her, heading over to greet her. Des took in the wide variety of dogs around her. It was always nice to be around someone else with their own sled team. It was hard to explain the affection between him and his seven lovely boys and girls. Naja would understand. They were more than just dogs. They were family.
Des got up and made his way over, his dogs following him like a flock. ”Hey Naja!! I am surprised I haven’t seen you sooner. That’s my newest Wheel Dog Kayuh. She’s a work in progress though. Three years and she still has a hard time following commands at times...”
Des explained, his eyes showing his fondness for the dog despite this. ”So what have you been up to? You here to scope like the other nations?Des wasn’t a nation. That was unique to him. There were not many non-nations with nation like tendencies. He was the only continent that much was for sure. The other Continents as they existed were divided up or could be called nations instead. Des was just a continent and that made him very unique. He did however have plenty else in common with Naja. They were both from snowy and icy terrain, though his was much colder. They both had some similar interests as a result. ”I see you brought your family too. Couldn’t part with them? I knew I couldn’t. It was a struggle to get Kayuh on the plane though. She hadn’t been near anything quite so loud before. I had to carry her on. She wouldn’t come within 30 feet of the thing.” said with an amused laugh. He was taking inventory on her dogs and seeing who he recognized and who he didn’t. It had been about 9 years since he last visited Naja. Naja would only recognize Tanana who was a year at the time, Kapik who was on the team and 7 years at the time and Shesh and Nanuk were only puppies, unable to be on the team because they were so small, but already into the training phases. Kayuh appeared very interested in the girl and stood up her tail making her whole butt sway even faster as she surveyed the other dogs, leaping around them in excitement and bopping her head against them affectionately. She was just excited to find more dogs and was hoping these ones were more inclined to run around and play than Des’ other dog. Atka was the youngest besides Kayuh and she was quite content to stay hugged to Des’ hip. She was there even now...[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Naja Jensen •• •• Words • 459 •• •• Outfit • Black Jeans, Black Tank Top and Black over-vest. •• Lyrics • "You got a friend in me" By Randy Newman ••

JUST LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDERShoney, ooh, i'll be there, i'll be thereWHENEVER YOU NEED ME, I'LL BE THERE---------------------------------------------------------------------- Naja gave Kayuh a good enough cooing and stroking session when she notice a very familiar face coming over to her. She smiled wise and amorously hugged him then stretch on that 'oh so good' spot that she remembered from last time she seen him. Nat and Morgen rushed off to greet somebody coming up and she knew who that person or unique hetalian was since Kapik wouldn't have leave the The Antractic plains without him.
"Desna! It's good to see you again," she smiled. "True, I just came not too long ago," she stood up from her fussing Kapik and looked over to Kayuh. "She's a sweetheart. Nice to meet you, Kayuh," she said politely. "Giving Desna a hard time," she teased and ran a hand over her head again. "So, you are retired, old buddy," she kneeled in front of him. "Well, you are still the best, Kapik," she hugged him and when the rest of the family noticed her with the other flock then decided to join in upon them. "Yes, I did," she answered Desna and stood up to walk over to him.
She was glad that somebody with similar talents and tastes was with her and very glad it was Desna since they have a very good relationship between them including a few one-night-stands and it wouldn't surprise anybody who knew them if they would do so again in the near future probably after a little dog sledding race. Who knows what to except from these two.
"I couldn't leave them!" She stretched underneath Sne's chin and he started panting happily with his tail wagging at top speeds at the attention as Rav and Smaragd joined them. She patted each in turn and beamed at her prosperity and looked upon them with an euphoria expression on her face. "Seem Morgen and Nat missed you," she nodded at the matepair as they sat patiantly nearby from his greetings. "These are Sne, Rav, and Smaragd. It's been four years since they join the family. Chokolade...she was that puppy who snuck into your bag and still very playful. I think she still thinks herself as a puppy," she giggled as the girl in question went up to him and leapt on him. "See what I mean!" she was excited at saying this.
"Perle and Diamont are my leaders, but Perle was quite quiet from all the excitement from sledding to the snowmobiles then the airplane. She fallen asleep on my lap during the car drive, well Rav and Sne didn't like the plane and started misbehavior in the car," she explained all the while stroking both of the two troublemakers' fur. "Glad Smaragd had slept. I have these three" - she pulled him over with his boys and group hugged them - "for about five years and they're very mischievious together, however I think Rav and Sne is fighting for Diamont's affections." Diamont gave them a doggy smile and blinked as if she knew exactly what Naja was talking about. Which she did!
Leaving them go and they happily went to greet some of the other dogs. Naja noticed Desna's other wheel dog, Tanana and were those two Nanuk and Shesh? She wondered as she took in the full family of Desna. She smiled when Chokolade went to play with Kayuk, thinking Yup, still a puppy at her age, fondly.

We stick together and can see it through Cause you've got a friend in me DESNA SIKU EREBUS ==================================== Kayuh’s butt just started waving faster as Naja gave her more attention. The dog even took the initiative to lick at Naja’s face in her excitement. Des had been training her progressively, but at three years she should have been much less energetic. He had a feeling she was going to remain this energetic no matter what he attempted. At least she responded to most of his commands, and for now he was going to have to work on making that constant responses despite her energy. When Kayuh was in place in the sled formation, she did perfectly, it was outside of that situation that she was prone to acts of disobedience.
Kapik was quite different, and after approaching and getting some affection his tail started to wag slowly and he rubbed his head against her hand even as she was scratching at his favourite spot behind his ears. He was quite content to continue bumping up against her affectionately. Kapik was a calm dog and almost opposite of Kayuh. Kayuh, not jealous of the attention also started butting her head in there to try to get some of the affections Naja was offering.
Des finished his approach with a smile. ”Yes, it has been a while. I assume you arrived with everyone else. My arrival was delayed seeing as I am only here because I found out everyone else was going to be…That required them being here before I took much notice. It’s no simple trip from Antarctica to Canada…in fact it’s like a whole world away…Especially considering I had to stop off in the United States in advance of arriving here.”
Des explained. He had made quite a long trip, longer than anyone else without a doubt. For someone like Naja who lived only a short flight away the travel was very different. Des laughed when Naja mentioned Kayuh giving him a hard time. ”Hardly. She gives the rest of the team a harder time than she does me…She gives me her best behavior, which just so happens to be energetic and somewhat disobedient at times.” Des once again said this fondly. It had only been three years but he was quite attached to Kayuh. Des was an animal person. Animals would always be his best friends in place of humans or even nations. Desna was solitary by nature. He had spent more than a century alone with just Penguins and Seals for company. It was only natural that he was more connected to animals as a result. Kapik’s tongue rolled out of his mouth as he licked at her face when she went to hug him. He was only but he still had several years left if his health kept up. Most Huskies only lasted 12 – 15 years but Kapik had been sticking it out and Des was proud of his old friend. Kapik was still healthy, but even now his fur had traces of grey and white that were not part of his natural coat. It blended well, but he was far from the young dog he used to be. Desna did consider Naja a friend, as they had certain things in common. He also found going to her country not as stifling as going to say Alfred or Mattie’s. Hot weather was hard on Des and he’d decided to suck it up this time for the sake of being a part of the events happening a New World. Desna dealt with constant overheating during American Summers and he as such was quite uncomfortable in that weather. But that hardly stopped him from going where he pleased. If he chose to stay for the American summer it meant the whole summer. Transport in and out of Antarctica during the Antarctic Winter and American Summer was difficult after all. Des kept his personal habits to himself. Many nations were more than aware that Desna slept around with almost anyone. Des kept his whore status to a minimum and looking at him and how he handled himself it was not directly apparent. Desna found sex the same way he found food; new and extremely fun. New for him meant within the last quarter of his life. Des had started sleeping around in the early 60s. He had explored everything and that included sex. Being a non-human meant he also mostly didn’t have to worry about kids. Another plus. Des just wanted to have fun. He lived to enjoy himself and serious dates and time constraints didn’t exactly sit well with him. Desna completely understood where Naja was coming from. His dogs were his family and he had no idea how long he’d be here. He had to bring them with him, if only for the company. Des’ eyes located the two dogs he was familiar with and gave them a light pat. He didn’t shower his dogs with affections so he didn’t shower them either. Once again Kayuh got her head in there trying to steal away some of the attention… He gave her a pat as well thinking to himself, Needy dog!Des made note of the dogs, knowing already he’d struggle with their names. Everyone was the same with his dogs and he was sure that Naja would completely understand. It was always easier to remember your own family of dogs than to learn someone else’s. Des did however recognize each as they were introduced, trying to remember the names associated with the dog. He took a moment to get a closer look at Chokolade in particular, as puppies grew to look similar but different. ”She has grown quite a bit…” He commented with a smile as the dog leapt at him. He caught onto the dog getting a good grip on her paws and holding her upright while managing to keep his own balance by stepping back. ”It seems Kayuh and her are two of a kind.” He joked fondly. He noted the others in her group with a smile. ”It took a lot of work transporting them all. None of them were exactly keen to cooperate. Kapik was good as usual, having done it before. The others were either very young, very nervous regardless or required more than a little comforting for the flight.” Des explained. He could at least be thankful his dogs had no internal love triangles going on. They were all fixed so no puppies were possible. Kayuh jumped after Chokolade rising to the change to play. While those two played Des decided to introduce his own group. ”Well…you will remember Tanana…These two are Nanuk and Shesh all grown up. They were so small when you saw them last. I also have Sesi here…she is six. I got her about seven months after out last visit. She replaced Siku who died four years ago (Siku was of course a gift originally and named for Des). And that just leaves my lovely Atka. She is my new lead. Perfect temperament and she is a protective one too. Kia passed on two years ago…it took quite a bit of time but Atka filled that hole in my heart.” Des explained. He loved all of his dogs but he had loved Kia more than the rest of his team. Des did have favorites and Atka was now the dog he held in highest regard. She had an intelligence that reminded him of Kia and naturally that was needed for a lead dog. But as he had discovered, Atka didn’t work well with a second lead. That was when Des had cut his team down so he had only one Lead and Point dog.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ==================================== •• Tag • Naja Jensen •• •• Words • 1269 •• •• Outfit • Black Jeans, Black Tank Top and Black over-vest. •• Lyrics • "You got a friend in me" By Randy Newman ••
