A PIZZA HUT A PIZZA HUT KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN AND A PIZZA HUT MCDONALDS MCDONALDS
----------------------------------At Warren's question, Alfred mimed thinking long and hard. "You know, I've always thought a rocket ship would look nice in my driveway..."
The grin on Alfred's face gave away the fact that he wasn't being at all serious. That would attract just a bit too much attention to his home, and would be a major lapse in security. "I'm sure anything you get me would be awesome, dude. Don't worry about it." He figured that Warren knew him well enough to know what he would like and wouldn't like. Fortunately, Alfred could easily keep up with Warren's questions, given that he moved at a rather fast pace himself. The question, despite the morbidity of it, was actually rather easy for Alfred to answer. "It's better when it comes by surprise. Others might feel differently, but to me it feels ten times worse knowing that it's coming and having to steel yourself for it than when it just happens like that." Alfred snapped his fingers at the word 'that'. "And given most deaths happen on the battlefield, deaths like that aren't exactly uncommon. Can't say I like it period, though..." Alfred smiled a little. "Of course I have immortal friends. There are the other nations, and other...mutants." The fact that Alfred stumbled a little before saying mutants could be seen as a hint that said other mutants might not exactly be mutants either. "I still get attached to humans though, and I always outlive them. Not just bosses, but sometimes others too." He could already tell that if he stayed in touch with Warren (and he likely would at this point), Warren would end up being one of those humans. He was in good company, of course, given that most of said humans were well known historical figures, although there were several lesser known people mixed up in that as well. The next question was a lot more difficult to answer, but, per usual, Alfred did his best. "Depends on who finds out. I'd rather no one does, but there's a few people I trust more than others. If my brother found out, it'd probably be no big deal. Someone like Ivan? That's different. Though the hope is that none of them find out. It's kinda the purpose of having a secret weapon, y'know." [/blockquote][/blockquote] ---------------------------------- TEMPLATE CREDIT: eliza @ shadowplay SONG: Fast Food Song - Fast Food Rockers WORD COUNT: 458 TAG: Warren/Shannon NOTES: Uh...yeah. So needless to say I'm odds and ends But that's me stumbling awaySlowly learning that life is OK. Say after me It's no better to be safe than sorry He chuckled at Alfred mentioned a rocked ship some how he could really see Alfred doing that. Well of course if no one noticed it parked… wait can one even park a rocket ship? All right well land one in his back yard, he would be the first one to hop on if Alfred wanted to go to the moon. He might be gone for a while but to actually be able to go out and explore that would be amazing. But when he got back he would be much older and of course Alfred would look the same.
“All right, maybe I’ll get you that rocket ship!”
Warren laughed, wouldn’t that be an interesting gift. But it wasn’t a bad idea actually… maybe he could get Alfred a model Space ship. It would be a neat an interesting gift to say the least. Or maybe they could take a trip down to Nasa or at least a gift shop and let Alfred roam around. Lord knew the Warren needed a break from school and a trip with Alfred could help them find all the years they had lost. Or at least make up for some of them, it couldn’t hurt. He wondered if Alfred was allowed to leave New Academy for a road trip. Or since he was assigned here he had to stay here for now.
“Yeah I suppose if something were to happen to me I’d rather not see it coming. Plus like you said when you wake back up it more of a what happened, then oh shit did that just really happen?! So have you been to Iraq or any wars like that recently? Or is it more official things now unless you’re really needed?”
It interested Warren to know what Alfred had been through. He supposed it was only natural to want to know. There were so many doors that Alfred had opened and so many he wanted to go through at once. He figured in time he would learn who Alfred was. Before he had just known him as an older figure in his life. And now to know he was a nation that was a turn of events he could never had imagined.
“Do you ever wish you weren’t immortal? Or that some people or mutants you met were? Yeah it’s hard not to get attached I suppose that’s what humans and even nations do.”
Warren wondered if Alfred ever wished the Warren were immortal. Because one day he would die also and be one more person Alfred knew. It was a scary thought for Warren to think about hat one day he wouldn’t be able to enjoy life. The only thing he would want is for Alfred to be their making him laugh. Or telling him something fascinating that he was doing. But for now he wouldn’t share that, he was a long way off from dying. Or at least he hoped so, then again accidents do happen and when you least expect it.
“Yes I suspect that’s for the best if no one found out. What do you think would happen if they did? Would I be in danger?”Word Count: 529 Tags: Alfred/Mandee Notes: Finally posted! Lyrics: Take on me- A-Ha

A PIZZA HUT A PIZZA HUT KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN AND A PIZZA HUT MCDONALDS MCDONALDS
----------------------------------While Alfred had ventured into a rocket ship before, he actually had yet to experience outer space first hand. There were missions done in his name, and plenty of them - He had the space race to thank for that (and he'd won that race too, as far as he was concerned...was Ivan's flag on the moon? No.). Still, he had yet to venture into space on his own. It was something he'd dreamed about since he was a kid, since he would go stargazing sometimes at night when Arthur was back in Europe.
He wondered sometimes if Arthur was proud of what Alfred accomplished...or if Alfred's actions in the 1700s ruined all that.
Warren's next question led Alfred to play with the dog tag currently around his neck. "These tags are from Iraq, actually. I was there for a bit in '03 when it first started, then did a full tour starting in '05. I usually don't go during election years, in case I get a new boss. I like to introduce myself to them right away rather than wait, and I can't exactly do that if I'm off on foreign soil."
Alfred stretched out his arms, a small crack coming from his back in the process. The next question was a lot more difficult for Alfred to answer. Warren was just full of those, wasn't he? Not that he blamed Warren - He could still remember hitting Arthur with tough questions when he was a colony, though he hadn't known how difficult they were at the time. "I wouldn't wanna give up what I am, I don't think, but it sucks outliving most of the people you get close to. I definitely wouldn't mind if I met people who could live a long time like I do." At this, he grinned. "I wouldn't call us nations immortal though. We're close to it, but we can still die. Last I checked, immortal means you can't die at all." Another question came. He retracted his previous thought - This one was even harder to answer than the last one, since it concerned Warren himself. And it was difficult to admit that yes, if the information entered the wrong hands, Warren might indeed be in danger. "That'd depend on who finds out. I know some wouldn't mind, some would chew me out until the cows came home...but there are some I'd never want to know what you are." Alfred frowned. The first to come to mind was Ivan, but Alfred wasn't sure what to think about Ivan anymore. This wasn't the Cold War anymore, but Alfred still had difficulty trusting Russia. Even without Russia, though, there were still other nations that Alfred wanted to protect Warren's identity from. It just came with the territory.
