Gupta Muhammad Hassan -- Egypt

This here is Gupta, but call him Hassan. It's all he likes to go by. Despite being live action playby wise, I assure you he is, in fact, a Hetalian. Egypt, a bit of a misfit Arab nation and while he looks young, he's pretty durn old. To summarize a very long history that you can find here, he was born in 300 BCE and was hidden from the classical nations by his mother, Ancient Egypt. He became a country in 32 BCE, which was the first time he was seen by any other Hetalians. He had generally stayed off the major world stage, and after the Arab Spring came here with no boss telling him what to do, as he has yet to trust any government of his country.

His power is that of time-warping, a testament to his old age. He CANNOT time travel, but instead he can manipulate a radius around him or at a range to either speed up, slow down, or freeze altogether while he can move in it at real-time

Friend wise, he's pretty agreeable. He can be quite fun if someone bothers to get to know him, though generally he's indifferent until proven otherwise. He does have a rather morbid sense of humour at times, but he is a loyal friend, and pretty tolerant of culture differences as long as it isn't thrown on him or he is expected to participate for no reason other than "it's fun!". Enemies can generally be those who don't like his no-nonsense attitude, and hetalian-wise, powers ho looked on when he and the other Arab nations could have used help will be looked on with suspicion and distrust. Its not impossible to overcome but yeah. He's also ambivalent at best about Israel, which of course is a huge point of tension. Someone special is open, and he's okay with a person or a nation. Alfred and Hassan - It's really hard to say with these two, given things appear to keep going back and forth. They had issues during the Arab-Israeli war, given that Alfred would have given his support to Chaya at that point. But then they reestablished diplomatic communications in 1974. I don't think we really need to plot too much before that time, since I don't see Alfred and Hassan interacting much prior to the later half of the 20th century and, of course, the 21st century.

It looks like their relations were pretty good again for quite a while, Egypt being the second largest non-NATO recipient of US military aid.

Then the War on Terror happened. XD

It looks like things weren't as sticky with the initial invasion of Afghanistan, but the invasion of Iraq was largely opposed. Here I start to see problems with Alfred and Hassan's relationship, and I don't see that having healed up entirely yet. Or possibly ever.

So where does that leave us with them? They're...sort of on good terms, but sort of strained. It's what I like to call the 'allies but not friends' approach. They most certainly aren't enemies, but they aren't all buddy buddy either. However, they're alright with each other's presence for the most part. That was a long ass ramble to say just that. XD

Matthew and Hassan - This one's a little more straightforward. Canada's relationship with Egypt has been mostly good. They wouldn't know each other until around the Suez Canal Crisis in 1956. France, the UK, and Israel took military action against Egypt, which Canada was apparently against. There's still apparently peacekeeping troops there as well. So...yeah, I think these two would be on good terms, possibly even friends.

Erika and Hassan - I really don't see much, unless she happens to catch wind of any hints that he might be a nation. Then she'll start bopping around and trying to figure him out. Fair warning. XD You know how she is.

Alfred & Hassan
I agree with the allies but not friends approach for the most part. I can see Hassan mostly tolerating Alfred as he has little choice but to tolerate him (much like he did with the presence of Rome) though friendlier than that from simple matter Alfred hasn't tried to kill him. I can't see anything great but they won't be at eachothers throats. At times, they'd probably get along just fine. xD -rambleramble-

Matthew & Hassan
Definitely friends here. Hassan would hold Matthew in high regard, specially for the peacekeeping that has gone on and is going on. He probably doesn't always get Matthew's approval sometimes, what with his morbid sense of humour but. xD Hassan would respect the guy.

Erika & Hassan
I don't think Hassan would have much problem with her bopping around trying to figure him out, to be honest. He'd admire her curiousity and persistance. xD He figures it's bound to happen, if only because of Amira, as not many people own a jackal, let alone a solid black one, which to a human's theory, shouldn't exist as there's no species of jackal that is totally black. xD

So basically, I just took this post to say that I agree with what you said. XD WHOO! Still, easier to add to your plot when someone actually goes 'yeah, I agree with you' instead of leaving it up in the air.

Emma & Gupta- Wouldn’t mind his morbid sense of humor since she’s around dead people all day. But there is no saying he might not offend the spirits around her. She’s pretty fun to be around most of the time, unless she’s trying to help someone and her serious side comes out. She has a bubbly personality and loves to just hang about. Her favorite times are when there are no spirits whispering in to her ear and she can just be.

Logan & Gupta- I can see them being friendly. Logan likes to party and has a relaxed aura about him. The only time he get upset if someone offends his family or how poor he grew up.

Tessa & Gupta- Have similar powers and would be interested in how his work. She’s a time traveler herself but speeding up time and slowing down would be interesting she’d probably question him to death about it she loves information. And he would possibly be in some classes with him since they are both juniors.

Warren & Gupta- Friends or friendly likes to have fun and joke around. He can run at a molecular speed so if he just randomly shows up you know why. Has a secret of his own so if Gupta does decide to share he’s a nation he wouldn’t have to worry about Warren blabbing to others.

Leela & Gupta- He’d probably want to stay away from her, she can read thoughts. So anything about being a nation she could pick up quite easily. She tries to stay out of people’s minds to be courteous but sometimes it just happens. Besides that she’s good natured and not a fighter. Loves to have a good time and can talk your ear off if you let her. Very social that is for sure.

I think these two could be friends. Hassan would probably be very deeply interested in her power, to the point he'd try not to offend the dead. He's very interested in life and death, so he might bother her to death about her power. =P

Hassan & Logan
Hmmm. How much does he like to party?

Hassan & Tessa
I think these two would make amazing friends. =D They'd probably get along pretty well, and Hassan would question her right back. Hassan would probably bring up the idea of using their powers in a way that compliment, to see how much they can screw with time, ie she goes back and he slows it as she does so or something, just to see how the fabric that is time works.

Hassan & Warren
I think this could be interesting as well, though we might need to rp them out once or twice just to see how it all works. -nodnod-

Yeah the thought reading thing would spook him a bit. xD He'd feel...violated, even if she wasn't doing it at the time; he has no way of knowing. Plus, there is the nation issue. He'd probably be wary, just because of that.

Emma & Hassan- I don’t think him questioning her would bother her one bit. Unless she was angered by a spirit feeling there wrath or sadness. Then again it wouldn’t be her emotions. Not sure how perceptive Hassan is but he would be able to tell it wasn’t her feeling those things personally.

Logan & Hassan- It really depends on whom he is hanging around with.

Tessa & Hassan- Tessa is on the more safe side to time. Afraid she will unravel the universe if she does something wrong. So perhaps Hassan can help unwind her a bit with that so they can explore. Of course if he sparked her curiosity she wouldn’t be able to help but want to understand time more.

Warren & Hassan- Agreed, we shall throw them in a thread together

Leela & Hassan- So friendly by not friends? Unless he would just be rude to her to get Leela away from his mind. In which case not friendly at all. =D

Friends should work then, as I doubt he'd get super party like when just around this fellow. He's such a partier. : P Only not.

Oh you can count on him trying to get her to experiment more. xD He'd try anything, really, because he'd want to experiment himself, and he pretty well knows how his powers work on their own already (he's been playing with them for 2,000 years, after all) so he'd be hungry for more.
