You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven Logan sat in his dorm trying to concentrate but there were so many distractions for him. Turning off the TV he tapped his pen on his business book. But his computer was staring at him telling him social networks waited for him to just sign on. Standing up he turned his computer off. Grabbing his phone and pocketing it he grabbed up his business and statistics book. He glanced at his dorm again wanting so much to just turn on the TV or laptop and be consumed by them. But it was his junior year and the homework was stacking on. He had all ready spent most of the day just playing around with his powers it was time to get an education. Closing the door behind him he started making his way toward the library.
Once he found a cozy spot in the library he opened his books again making notecards here and there but mostly reading. He didn’t have another test for three weeks, but it never hurt to read on. Getting about half way through the chapter he put his book down and stretched. He finally noticed how quiet it was and looked around seeing many people studying. He wondered what they were all going for and made up majors for them by the way they looked. One girl looked mousey looking and she figured she would be a good vet or possibly a fine librarian. Usually he didn’t judge people by their appearances because he would be hate to be looked upon that way. Shoot, if the school judged him by looks a few years ago they would have turned him away with his beat up clothes and looks alone.
Turning back to his book he continued to read, now nearing the end of the chapter he felt a small weight had been lifted. He thumbed through the last ten pages and bookmarked it so he knew when the last page was getting near. It was funny usually Logan didn’t mind studying, he knew in order for him to do better for his family he’d have to get high marks and be the best in his class. That’s honestly what kept him studying and getting good grades, he couldn’t fail now when he only had a year left after this one. But there was a nagging in the back of his mind that said lets go drink beer and play video games. He pushed the thought away and continued to read. Nearing the last couple pages his heart thumped loudly wanting the torture of reading to be over. Now it’s not like he didn’t like to read because he would pick up a good book every now and then. But to read textbooks was like learning a foreign language sometimes fun but mostly hard.
Finally finishing he closed the book and threw his hands up. He felt he won some sort of trophy and almost got up to dance around. But he wasn’t in his dorm and figured he’d get kicked out of the library forever. So instead he settle for the biggest smile he could and the feeling inside of being done with the chapter for now. He was sure he still had to go back through and take a couple more notes but for now he wanted to burn his business book and never look back. Taking out his phone he looked at the time and figured there was nothing else he had to do today so getting up he snatched his books and went to browse around the library. Some social interaction after reading his textbook wouldn’t hurt one bit. So he began walking up and down the isles of books.Word Count:618 Tag:Open Notes: First post for Logan =]

Ildri really wasn’t used to being at a school yet. After all why did she need to take a history class if she lived most of it? Not like they started anywhere before the crusades, and so she aced almost all of those tests. Sometimes the dates got a little fuzzy, which was why she even bothered to study in the first place. It was either that, or if she had a subject other than history to study for. Her education was certainly a bit on the lacking side, but that was because for the longest time women weren’t allowed to go to school, and so it was probably some sort of miracle she was taught to read and write in the number of languages she knew. Well, if she was going to live in a country she had to learn the language in order to manage without too much difficulty, and there was the fact that many foreigners were not treated well in certain countries, but she did try to avoid those the best she could. Anyway though, she probably should at least try to learn more than just basic math because otherwise she would just fail miserably. She had gone to a school before now, but honestly she didn’t learn much more than basic math and a few other things for other subjects.
Anyway though she did suppose she liked reading, and should probably study a little bit, which meant a trip to the library. The red-headed girl wandered her way through the hallways with nothing but a notebook and a pencil in her hands in case she wanted to take notes. Dates were something she had never bothered to remember, because who knew she would end up having to spew them out at school. The events she could tell you all about, and the year was fine too, but the day? Well that got a little fuzzy sometimes, she could remember the season, but not the exact day of all the battles. A memory can only hold so much after all, and she remembered far more about the crusades than any other war. Unfortunately schools didn’t typically go back in time far enough to cover the crusades, usually started with the world wars for some reason. Ah well, nothing she could do about that, and thus she went to the library and climbed her way up to the top of a shelf. Sure she could fly, but shifting was kind of a pain, and she would get some pretty crazy stares for the fact that there would be a flame colored bird flying about the library. Thus she just climbed up without too much thought on to how she was getting down. She definitely preferred higher altitudes being a bird, and this way she was pretty sure nobody would bother her unless it was the librarian telling her to get down. So far it didn’t seem that she had noticed, or if she had she accepted that this was a school of borderline mutants and some of them were a little odd. She wasn’t only up here because she didn’t want to be bothered and liked heights though, there was also the fact that most of the books she wanted were on the top shelf and this was the easiest way to have access to them.
Soon though, she was becoming bored of studying and instead switched shelves to read some other types of books. She had taken enough notes for one day and was content to just read a few top-shelf fantasy books. As she was putting one back though it slipped out of her hand and she had a split second to realize someone was walking through the shelves and say. ”Oops head’s up.” Hopefully the book wouldn’t land on his head or something and she would have to apologize. She definitely needed to watch what she was doing a little more she supposed, but she had been laying on top of shelves for quite a while it was bound to happen at some point. ”Sorry, slipped out of my hand.” she said with an apologetic smile.

You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven Logan kept wandering around picking up random books looking at the summaries then placing them back on the shelf. He wasn’t entirely sure if he was actually going to take one of these books home, but it never hurt to browse. So he kept going up and down isles, he saw a couple people from class and waved but there was no dialogue between them. He didn’t know why he thought the library would be more interesting than this but he hoped for something. And with in the next couple minutes something did happen. As he was looking at books eye level to him he heard a girls voice say, ‘oops head’s up.’ Jumping out of the way he heard a book land next to him with a thump.
Picking up the book he looked to his left then his right. Puzzled for a moment he wasn’t quite sure where the book came from, but as he looked up he saw a girl above himself. Hearing her call out an apology and explanation he couldn’t help but grin. He wondered why she was perched up on top of the bookshelves but technically there weren’t any rules about sitting on them. Unless it was an unspoken library rule, then again he couldn’t imagine to many people climbing all the way to the top either. This girl was all ready definitely interesting to him, taking a look at the book again he set his down on the floor. Peaking around he didn’t see anyone so he started to climb to the top of the ladder sitting against the shelf.
“You don’t even know me and your trying to kill me with a book.”
Saying once he reached the top where this mystery girl was. Shaking his head Logan laughed a bit before holding the book out to her. He wasn’t sure what he was doing climbing this ladder but heights didn’t really scare him. He wasn’t sure if he’d sit up there but then again if he was feeling daring he might just do it. But for now he was content with standing on the ladder. Looking down Logan checked on his books, since he wasn’t looking to go buy new ones, he wanted to make sure no one was going to swipe them. Not that he figured any one would try and take them while in a library, he was sure these books were floating around here somewhere.
“So why are you up here anyway? Not a usual sitting place to study or read a book.”
Logan looked around once more, it’s was almost a fresh of breath air to be up so high. Almost as if he could scope the whole library from here and not a sole would know that he was up here. It was like a secret clubhouse that no one could come up unless invited. Or curious enough to climb up and see what was going on, but figured most wouldn’t even look up. Just as he hadn’t first even thought about the book coming from above him, but instead someone throwing the book up just to be funny.Word Count:500 something? Tag: Cal/Ilidri Notes: Hello!

She saw him jump out of the way in time and then he looked very confused as to who was talking to him. Well, she did suppose that sitting on top of the bookshelf was a little strange. It also probably wasn’t what one would originally think. Though the book did fall down and not like from the left or right towards him. So to her it was a logical conclusion that it came from above, but maybe he wasn’t watching the book and instead just heard it land or something. Ah well, he would figure it out eventually right? Seemed he did being that he looked up then climbed up the ladder. Well, that wasn’t exactly how she had gotten up here, but that wasn’t really the point. She had her own way of doing things and honestly hadn’t noticed the ladder. That made it easier for her to get down though she supposed. His response though made her raise an eyebrow.
”If a small book can kill you, then you need to live in a bubble or something.” she joked slightly with a raised eyebrow. She took the book from him and gave a smile. ”Thanks.” she said simply before placing the book in the pile next to her. She noted him looking down and wondered idly if he was afraid of heights or something. It was possible he was looking at something else though, but either way she wasn’t going to ask about it. That would be rude after all, and she didn’t even know his name yet why would she ask about something such as fears? Anyway though he was asking her a question and she pondered it for a moment. Well, that was a complicated answer. She could give loads of reasons as to why she was up here, but which one was he really looking for. Hum, how to word her answer so that it didn’t make her just seem completely anti-social or something. Well, she was anti-social but she didn’t want to seem like she was asking him to leave or something. She was alright with talking to people, but friends were another thing.
”Well…..there’s lots of reasons. I like heights, and all the books I wanted were on the top shelves so climbing up to get them repeatedly would have been a pain, and I didn’t want to be bothered while in the middle of studying.” she noted with a shrug. It was pretty obvious that she was currently in the fiction section now and thus clearly done with studying, but otherwise that was her intention. ”I just haven’t felt like jumping down yet honestly.” she noted simply while stretching her legs over the edge of the bookcase and sitting up a bit more. ”I’m Ildri.” she said deciding to introduce herself. The girl was raised with some archaic manners that she did try to update somewhat, but still introducing yourself was just commonly thought of as polite.

You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven Logan smirked at her comment about living in a bubble. But she was right if a book that small could kill him, he had more pressing issues to worry about. Logan nodded his head to her after she thanked him. He looked at the stack of book in front of her and wondered if she just casually kept them up here for herself or if she put them back. He had to admit if she kept them up on top her book would never be checked out. The library probably wouldn’t even dream looking on top of bookshelves. He wanted to know what possessed her to climb up here one day but that was a bit to personal for not even know her name or at least not knowing her at all. He might have tried to squeeze the question in there somewhere if they had a class together.
“Haven’t you ever seen a thousand ways you can die? I’m sure dropping a book on someone’s head could end up rupturing something in the brain and killing them. And if you haven’t seen that show, I honestly recommend it.”
Logan listened as the girl gave him numerous reasons why she was up here. He noted she was studying and tried to peak at the books that were in front of her. He saw nothing that resembled a textbook, but that doesn’t really mean anything. Teachers assign random reading materials all the time. But he figured she’d tell him to buzz off if she deep in study. She didn’t seem like a girl that wouldn’t speak her mind about something. He thought back to the first thing she said to him, so he wasn’t too worried about intruding. Logan was similar to that; if he needed to get stuff done he would politely excuse himself from conversation or sometimes rudely depending on whom he was talking to. Logan figured she was either done with studying or gave up on it because the books in open in front of her didn’t seem to be bothering her. Wanting to climb up one more step just to make sure she maybe wasn’t what he pegged her for, but if he did he’d be way in her persona space. Not to mention Logan didn’t like people in his space either so he stayed on the rung he was currently on.
“What are you studying for if you don’t mind me asking? And I’m Logan, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Flashing his charming smile for a moment he went back to glancing around again. He didn’t want to make it look like he wasn’t interested in talk, but his books o the ground was bugging him a bit still. He knew how weird people could be with stealing things and to be honest, he didn’t have the money right now to pay for new anything. Still seeing his books clearly planted on the floor he figured he should give Ildri some sort of explanation of why he was glancing around seeming paranoid.
“And sorry for looking around everywhere. I just don’t want my books to get stolen since they’re on the ground. People like to get sticky fingers sometimes, and I’m not going to get cheated out of money I earned on my own to pay for my books.”Words:554 Tag: Ildri/Cal Notes: I wrote this real quick in the morning sorry if there are errors didn't have time to proof read it.

It wasn’t as if she had dropped a large book, just a small book, around two hundred pages or so. Well, it wasn’t what she considered large, and she doubted it could do more than cause a bruise and that was probably if it was chucked at someone rather than just dropped from not a huge distance. He just nodded when she thanked him. She actually was about to put the book back, but decided to just leave it in the pile for now because she didn’t want to drop it again. Thus she would put it away later or something because right now she was a little distracted with the person in front of her. Besides, she would have to figure out where exactly it would have to go on the shelf based on the number on the spine. That required some concentration though being that she would be reading upside down and all, so she’d wait until another time. Besides, the librarian could always figure out where the books are and put them back if it was a big deal. His question though confused her, she wasn’t sure where she would have seen it, and she had certainly never heard of the show.
”I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of it honestly. I’m also pretty sure it would have to be like the Encyclopedia Britannica to cause any damage. It might also have to be a little bit higher to cause any serious damage, as in enough to kill you.” she said after pondering it for a moment. It only made sense that was for sure, and she wondered really what he was talking about. She hadn’t seen a lot of plays honestly, and had probably never turned a television on in her life. So which it was is confusing for her. Maybe he would explain a little more about the show. Then again, not many people watched plays anymore, so she was betting it was television. Not something she had ever taken an interest in because she spent how long without it why bother with it now? She certainly had enough ways of entertaining herself that it wasn’t needed. At least she didn’t think it was. Then again she said that about a lot of technology, sure some of it made her life easier, but some of it seemed pointless.
His next question made her ponder a minute, that could have two separate meanings as well. ”Do you mean like right now or as in what is my major? I was trying to remember dates from history because I remember events and the general time period, but like exact days are a little fuzzy most of the time. Major wise though I’m an Interior Design major.” she explained with a smile. ”I’m done with studying for now though. I started over there, and nice to meet you as well.” she said pointing in a general direction for history books and smiling. She had jumped bookcases which was how she ended up here. It was easy enough if you had the right amount of momentum, and honestly she wasn’t that worried about falling. She would heal fast enough that it wouldn’t be a big deal even if she did manage to sprain or break something. It wasn’t as if she was human and had to worry about injuring herself as easily.
He was glancing around again and she was horribly confused as to why. What was going on that he looked somewhat nervous? It seemed though that he was going to answer her question without her asking it though. His reply was a confusing one though. ”Why not just bring them up here?” she asked him. Wasn’t that the obvious solution to the problem? Though, maybe he was incapable of carrying books while going up a ladder. In which case, she could always help him with the books or something like handing them up to him from the ground.

You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven Logan’s eyes widened as she said she had never heard of the show. Then again if it wasn’t for his younger sister showing him the TV show he was certain he would have never watched it either. He remembered that’s what they would do on Thursday nights, when his mother was working. He would allow her to stay up past eleven and they would watch it. He couldn’t help but smile at his memories; he missed his mother and sister more than anything while here. But before Logan could think about anything else he focused on the TV show. He thought about one episode about a man being allergic to latex and dying after being put in a latex suit. The poor guy never had a chance and was dead in ten minutes. Rubbing his chin he thought about dying in a latex suit, mentally shaking the thought out of his head. Listening to her talk about how the book wouldn’t have caused any major damage, which was probably true but in the show it would have. Then again the show was probably fake, and nothing of that stuff probably actually happened.
“Well I think you should watch it, not sure what kind of TV shows you like but if you don’t like it, the good thing about TV is you can always turn it off. But I agree the book probably wouldn’t have killed me, but it would have left a fun bruise.”
Nodding his head he was lucky if he could remember days as well. History wasn’t a bad subject for him, but then again it wasn’t the easiest either. He could definitely relate to History being fuzzy for him also, since he always had problems with it. His statistics class gave him the most headaches, Logan hated math more than anything. But when you’re a student you have to do what you have to do to pass, even if it means walling yourself up in a quiet place. He noted she was an interior Design major; they both could help each other when out of school since he was going to business. He dismissed the thought though because he figured she’d find an established place of business and probably wouldn’t want to start her own. But then again the option was always open; he’d have to ask at some point. Looking at how far she came he saw that she would have either jumped bookshelves or find a way down then use the ladder to come back up. Either way it was a long way to scoot down but she didn’t seem to mind it.
“I meant as in right now, but eventually I was going to ask about your major. I know what you mean about History though it’s hard to remember days just a lot of memorization. I like making note cards to help me… So Interior design what made you choose that major?”
Rubbing the back of his neck he felt awkward. Usually he was smoother while talking but he figured it was the studying that has clogged his brain. Or possibly talking to someone knew he always made sure that he treaded lightly as to not upset the other person. Taking one leg off at a time he stretched it pulling his leg up then putting it back on the ladder. It seemed easy enough to stand here but it was kind of cramping up his legs, but he was never one to complain about silly stuff like that. He nodded as she simply told him to just bring the books up. Which he could have, but he honestly didn’t know that he was going to be staying and having a conversation. But it was a nice change to him wandering around talking to no one.
“I could have but I didn’t want to have to lug them up here when giving your book back. Also I didn’t know we’d be having a conversation, but it’s all good I needed a break from being by myself anyway. So really you saved me from myself, so thank you.”Word count: 684 Tag:Ildri/Cal Notes: Had the hardest time with this post ugh. >.<

He seemed extremely surprised by the fact that she had never heard of the show. She couldn’t imagine everyone in the world had heard of it. It probably depended on where you spent most of your time or what shows you watched that such a show would be advertised during. There were definitely different factors that contributed, and the fact that she had never even turned on a TV, or thought about doing so, made it difficult for her to know shows. That was the primary form of advertisement anymore after all, that and the internet and she didn’t spend any time on that either really. Not if she could avoid it. She owned a laptop, but only for the mandatory typed papers she would have to do or a little bit of research. She just, always had better things to entertain herself with, so why would she want to sit in front of a screen and just melt her brain with the amount of garbage that was on it, or so she had heard anyway. Not something she was interested in that was for sure, and she didn’t see it as bettering her life, so why bother with it? Well, maybe so she didn’t look like some weirdo when talking to people, but otherwise it wasn’t needed. She had always been weird, why would anything change now?
His statement definitely explained why she didn’t have any idea what he was talking about. ”I have never turned on a TV, nor have I ever had any desire to honestly. I suppose it probably would have depending on how it landed.” she noted with a slight smile. Then he seemed to nod in agreement with her saying that exact dates got fuzzy. She didn’t see why exact dates were all that important, it wasn’t as if you could go back and change it, and if you did why bother remembering the date then? There was also the fact that, unless you were a history major why would you need to know them? As long as you got the year that should be good enough. Apparently not here though unfortunately. Ah well, she’d get through it even if it was just through process of elimination. As long as the dates weren’t too close together she would be good. Besides, it was probably going to just be multiple choice so no problem right? Anyway, she was done studying for the day and thus wasn’t going to work on it.
Well, seemed he hadn’t meant her major quite yet, but he wasn’t specific so she just answered it in both contexts. It wasn’t a big deal after all. If it weren’t for the fact that she had so many other dates to remember she would probably be far better at history, but hey she found other dates far more important than the exact day certain battles were taking place. With as far away as she was during most of the world wars it was amazing she knew about them at all. Luckily there was world news so she was up to date on the horrible death then. He explained how he made note cards to remember and she held up a notebook with dates scribbled on it along with what battle or event happened then. The question about her major made her think a bit. ”I like creative stuff, and I’ve always liked decorating places and rearranging them.” she stated with a shrug. She also didn’t know what else other than like culinary she could do. The girl did not want to really cook for a living though because it was high pressure and stressful. It was also not an easy field to actually be successful in. Now, she didn’t care if it was something hard, but she didn’t want to end up hating something because of the stress involved in it so she would just do cooking for herself for fun, or maybe for friends if she felt like it.
She noted him rubbing the back of his neck and wondered what was wrong, he seemed to be moving about on the ladder and she moved over a little bit. ”I can’t imagine standing on a ladder is fun….you can come up and sit….” she offered simply. Hearing his reasoning she shrugged, that was a good enough point she supposed. ”I’m sure we’d see anyone that walked past anyway, and if they try to steal your books just lob a book at them there are enough of them up here. It’s nice having someone to talk to every so often.” she said with a smile.

You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven Logan looked at her strange for a moment, but then again he was sure there were many people anti TV. Not that he was all about watching TV but sometimes it was nice to just rest the mind and watch a whole bunch of nothing. Shrugging it off he was sure she had more important things to do than watch TV. She seemed very in to her major, which wasn’t a bad thing at all. He wished that he didn’t watch TV or use the Internet for that matter. It would have definitely made his life so much easier when it came to school. Then again when it was a big issue like he did today he’s just leave everything behind and come to the library a quiet place and make himself study. He wondered if it would be a good challenge to limit TV to maybe once every two weeks. But he couldn’t ban himself from the TV he loved his video games too much to abandon them. He chuckled at himself for pretty much thinking about his video games as if they were alive. Shaking his head a bit he returned to the conversation, he didn’t want her to feel as if she was weird or anything. Then again she could probably care less what a stranger though. He knew that’s exactly how he would be, didn’t matter much to him what other people thought as long as he was happy.
“Well that’s cool, I mean your not missing all that much. Besides I bet you do better things than watch TV, you seem like an interesting person that would have some sort of fun hobby. I personally think it would be awesome to give up TV but I love my video games too much. Not that I can’t do other things, but when people are busy that’s my nice little retreat.”
Watching her hold up her notebook he couldn’t help but smile. Of course she had something to take notes with. He seemed kind of silly talking about the note cards, she didn’t look like a freshmen or someone who had just started school with no knowledge on how to note take. He almost wanted to hit himself in the head but figured that would be sort of weird. So instead he listened to what she had to say about why she picked the major she was in. It was easy enough, it sounded like she just loved to decorate. And hey what better do major in then something you like doing. That’s why Logan was in business, he loved to manage things although sometimes he was a bit disorganized he still loved it. Not only that in the business, if you got high enough or even started something of your own, you were your own boss and you couldn’t beat that. Plus, how hard could decorating really be if you were good at it? Then again he wouldn’t know he was never good at decorating anything, the most decorating he did was put up posters. Maybe she wouldn’t mind decorating his house or well at least make it more homely.
“Well if it’s something you enjoy, you can’t beat that. That’s why I’m in business you can’t really go wrong there and I love my major although some of the classes are terrible. But can’t really argue as long as I will get my degree. What year are you in? I’m a junior myself.”
Nodding in agreement he took her offer and moved up on to the bookcase. He sat down and let his legs dangle over, looking down he shifted back a bit. Looking over at Ildri as she mentioned they could always throw books over and scare off someone, if they tried to take his books. He felt a little better and even relaxed a bit, it was nice up here he might even take her study spot and come up here more often. Also bumping in to Ildri wouldn’t be a bad thing either, because she seemed like a nice person.
“I like the way you think Ildri, that’s not a bad idea at all. So you come here often?”

She saw the look she got and sighed slightly. The girl really didn’t blend in with normal humans very well when she started talking. Ildri wasn’t sure what he really thought, but she knew from the expression that not watching television ever was weird. Maybe she should have just said something that would actually fit with this era. After all, the generations that went outside because they didn’t have a television was past. Any normal child would have had one, but hey maybe she hadn’t been a normal child. So if she wanted she could play it off like that. Just claim to be someone who wandered from place to place without a real home. This, for the most part, was actually pretty true honestly. Sure she had a house but she hardly visited it. The place was more of a holding area for her things and it was far enough out in the woods of the mountains that she doubted someone would bother it. Besides with the stereotype of scary mountain men living in them who would dare? She also would occasionally go check on the place and she did have an alarm system. It used to be that she had some nasty traps awaiting anyone who broke in, but with technology she just bought an alarm system. The girl also may have kept a few of the traps in case it was possible to cut the power to the alarm system. She was fine with technology; she just didn’t always trust it. The look she got let her know that she was blatantly weird, but she didn’t fit in this time. Honestly she fit in a time quite long ago, and one could only adjust so much because how someone was raised was what stuck the most usually.
Hearing his statement she smiled slightly. It wasn’t that she had fun hobbies, it was just never something she took any interest in. The girl was a little stubborn at times when it came to moving forward. The fact that she had a cellphone was probably some sort of small miracle, but it was easy to keep in touch with people she met that way, or for the alarm company to call her to inform of a break in. Especially being that she was in a lot of the pictures and some of them went back centuries being that they are painted and whatnot, nobody could ever find them who didn’t know about her. People feared what they didn’t understand, and her being an immortal creature of legend probably wouldn’t go over well. ”I just never saw the appeal of it, and I suppose you can’t miss what you have never had. From what I hear though it’s mostly garbage anyway which is confusing, because why keep watching something that isn’t entertaining when that’s the point of the device?” she said with a shrug. She wasn’t sure what constituted a fun hobby, because wasn’t everyone’s definition of fun different? ”What would you define as a fun hobby?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
His next comment made her shrug. Wasn’t that true with pretty much everything anyone did though. ”There are always some bad things in each thing you like. Just like every person has flaws, most everything else does too. It’s just a matter of accepting them and moving past them for something you enjoy.” she said with a smile as she looked up at the ceiling idly. It wasn’t that she was bored, it was just a wonderment on what the ceiling actually looked like being that she hadn’t really taken note of it before now. It was rather high after all, so what reason did she really have to look at it? His question brought her attention back to him though. ”I’m a Junior as well.” she said with a smile, though she really could say she was in any grade, and really her ID would be saying she was eighteen so maybe she should have picked freshman? Oh well, too late for that now, she just wanted to get several years of use out of the ID so it was easiest to pick eighteen. She could pick younger, but then nobody would believe that she was in a college, so she went with younger, but not too young. It would last a few years at least though, and it was something better than what she currently had for ID, which wasn’t in English and was probably close to a hundred years old.
She watched as he moved onto the bookcase and kicked her feet back and forth simply. His question made her laugh. ”That almost sounded like a really bad pick up line.” she admitted honestly. Well, that was the truth, and it had certainly been tried on her before, though usually it wasn’t in English, but that wasn’t the point. Either way it was typically a really bad way to try and break the ice or something with a girl at a bar or a club. There was also usually a bunch of alcohol involved with deciding that it would be a great idea to start with that.

You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven “Because people love reality TV, my sister used to sit on our couch every night and watch these Kardashian girls from America. I personally couldn’t stand them because they would just whine over nonsense. Oh my perfume line isn’t taking off, or I made a sex tape and now everyone is watching it. Really? You made a sex tape and you didn’t think it would leak obviously it will because you’re famous. I just don’t understand idiots like that. I mean they get handed money and I bust my ass everyday trying to get my self through college by working and going to school. And they are going to complain about a sex tape they probably leaked themselves.”
Logan stopped talking he hated when his sister watched crap like that. He could almost feel the emotions as if his sister was actually right in front of him. The last time he visited his mom and sister they had gotten in to a fight. She had been watching the reality show again and cared to share that she should do what one of the sisters were doing. The younger sister had snuck out to go to a party and this comment sent Logan over the edge. Yes, he had snuck out when he was younger and got caught but he now realized his mother was worried sick when she found him missing. Logan didn’t want his mother going through that with his sister. He knew he couldn’t shelter his sister from everything but this was one thing he put his foot down on. It was hard for Logan to find the line between big brother and man of the household. They had made up later when his sister approached him and apologized but it was still an issue with him.
“Sorry I just get really pumped up about that kind of stuff. And I would consider working on cars and possibly fishing a fun hobby. But that’s why they are hobbies they are unique to everyone. Very true, there are some things that aren’t fun in the things that you do, but they pay off is marvelous if you love what you’re doing despite the little things that aren’t. Junior? I haven’t seen you around, but it is very possible that we have different classes. And I’ve been in hibernation mode with studying and it’s killing me.”
Looking back down at the ground his books were still there in one piece. He wanted to laugh at how worried he was that they were going to disappear. But it was a good worry; he had bought them with his own money and right now didn’t have a lot of it. School had taken a toll on his bank account; he tried to save as much as he could during high school knowing he was going to go to college. And even though he was still working it seemed college took money a lot faster than he was making it. Not to mention he still sent his mom home money at least once a month just to help out. He wasn’t trying to sound like a complainer, because he loved helping out his mom, it was just hard.
“I know but I couldn’t help myself it was just waiting for me to say it. Plus I made you laugh; you look like a hard person to make laugh Ildri. And don’t take that a wrong way, it just means you know good humor when you hear it. I hate when people will laugh at others just because they think it’s the right thing to do. Because then you get comics who think they are funny but really they’re garbage. You make the world a better place.”Word Count: 623 Tag:Ildri/Cal Notes: -bows to the post bs-er- Hehe. =]

Ildri just kind of blinked at Logan as he sort of went off on a tangent about some dumb show. See, now that was why she didn’t watch tv, no need to worry about getting worked up over such a thing. Seemed stupid that he was so emotional over just some dumb show, it probably was acting a lot of the time anyway. That was what people on the TV did right? It was supposed to cause some sort of response, but it seemed they hadn’t gotten the correct one from Logan. The comment about the sex tape made her shrug though. She didn’t see the point of them. Why make them in the first place unless you secretly wanted someone to see it. Who else really needed to know what you were doing in the first place? Wasn’t that sort of thing supposed to be private and special, but even she knew that was some old thinking so she was trying to forget the thought. She knew the way people acted now, and hell even back then some did it, but they certainly didn’t talk or brag about such things as much as they did now. Did nobody have shame anymore or something? Really, she needed to get off this topic and did her best to drop it. ”Why does your sister watch it?” she asked simply. If it was such stupid programming, why did anyone watch it? Was it because they were stupid, or did people actually find entertainment in that sort of thing.
After his rant there was some silence, and she wondered what he was really thinking about. She supposed it was hard to relate when you didn’t have siblings that did things that were dumb, being that she was an only child and honestly didn’t really get raised by her real parents. She was she supposed raised by two humans, and even them she didn’t really consider had that much hand in raising her. It wasn’t as if she always listened, being that she honestly didn’t have to. The girl could leave whenever she pleased and there would be nothing that could stop her. Honestly she only stayed out of curiosity, and they may have had some influence on her, but even early on her personality was pretty dominant no matter what was done to her to try and stop it. Anyway though, another thought she didn’t want to finish. He started to apologize for his outburst though and she just shrugged.
”Don’t worry about it. I’m sure there are worse things to get worked up about.” she replied before listening to what he described as a fun hobby. She didn’t really think she had a hobby of sorts. Well, cooking and sewing probably counted, but that was probably more the era she was born into and just accepted she would have to enjoy it as a fact rather than it being something she would have picked up willingly. What had she picked up on her own without influence in her time traveling? She supposed interior design counted, but that was her major, and thus there had to be something else. ”Does cliff diving count as a hobby?” she asked simply. That was something she did on her own, but that was more because she liked the thrill of flying and falling, and hey sometimes just diving in the water off a much smaller cliff than the ones she was actually referring to wasn’t so bad. Not quite as thrilling, but it was still the falling action and she didn’t have to shift in order to not injure herself either. ”Maybe we’ll end up in a few general education classes together.” she said with a shrug. She wasn’t sure if she had seen him around or not, but that was because she usually was pretty quiet during class and didn’t make a lot of friends. There was a good enough reason for that though, not exactly a huge number of people were immortal after all.
His comment on her looking as if she wasn’t an easy person to make laugh was probably a true one. The fact that she had been talking this long was probably some sort of miracle. Ildri wasn’t sure whether he was right about the good humor or not, but she may as well go with it. She just looked at her feet while she contemplated this rather than at him this time. He also said she made the world a better place and she blinked a bit. The girl was definitely not sure she believed that. After all, the phoenix wasn’t exactly a saint, and while he didn’t know that, she supposed if he wanted to believe it then the girl wasn’t about to stop him. ”A lot of people believe themselves to be funny, not just comics.” she pointed out to possibly get the topic off of herself. It wasn’t a subject she necessarily liked because she knew that with a lot of the things she did that if she stated them nobody would even remotely believe she was human, and she wasn’t, but that didn’t mean she wanted people to know.

You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven “Beats the hell out of me, she’s a teenage girl and thinks they are goddesses. I think its just trash I have all ready told my mom to block it from the TV but it’s hard to enforce rules from college. Plus my sister would bug my mother to death about it and since I’m not around to tell her to back off she can get away with it. It’s terrible I think I enforced more rules around that house and followed them.”
Logan put his hands on the sided of the bookshelf and gripped it slightly. He knew his sister wouldn’t get in to big trouble or else he’d be down there in a hot second and not be the happiest brother in the world. His sister knew how much it meant to him to even be in college. He watched as a couple walked by hand in hand, the glanced at the books awkwardly for a second looking around before moving on. He smiled a bit and was glad he didn’t have to chuck a book at there heads. Watching them around the corner he settled back down.
Logan wondered how his mother and sister were fairing with out him it had been almost five months since he saw them last. He sucked every time he had to drive away he’d watch them as far as he could from his rearview mirror. Sometimes he hated being different but he knew he would have probably gone off somewhere then again over different circumstances he probably would have stayed in Vancouver. He could imagine his life ending up at a dead end job not really going to school. If he hadn’t managed to work so hard during high school he would have ended up in some boring office job with nowhere but his current position.
“Yes there are worse things to get worked up about but she’s my baby sister. I remember holding her in my arms, ok well I don’t remember since I was only four but I’ve seen the pictures and I’ve had to take care of her my whole life. My dad only came back in to the picture again to knock my mom up and leave all of us all over again. It was silly now to think she’d believe anything would be different the second time. But she wanted a good family life for me. And honestly she provided that even though we didn’t have a white picked fence with a dog and huge home. Sorry I think I’m rambling again, please stop me at any time.”
He sat there for a moment in his thoughts when she mentions cliff diving as a hobby. Thinking about it he nodded that was a good hobby, he wished he did things like that but he figured he would be slightly worried about rocks at the bottom. It always scared him he’d die some stupid way, as in cliff diving his friends always wanted him to go back in high school. But he was always afraid of being that guy who lost his footing and rolled down all the sharp rocks. Or sky diving his parachute would be the one that didn’t come out and he’d crash to the ground. They were valid fears but at the same time it kept him from living to close to the edge.
“I think that’s an awesome hobby, wish I could be that bold. And I’m sure we will end up in some sort of general ed, but most of my classes now are for my business classes but there are still some regular classes I have to take like foreign language. I figured why not learn as many as I can before graduation, can’t hurt in the business world. And yes it’s true a lot of people do think there funny. Take me for instance, I think I’m pretty damn hilarious on a good day or when I’m drunk.”
It was true Logan thought he was so smooth when he was drunk. Most of the time he was because he always got the girl if he wanted to peruse drunk or not. But it was easy talking to girls when they were intoxicated everything was funny to them. He thought about one party he went to and some girl was trying so hard for him just to ask he for her number. But thankfully that party he was designated driver for the night because lets just say she wasn’t good looking at all. Not that Logan was shallow but like all people he had a type and she was not close. Plus he wasn’t the type of guy to take advantage of a girl if she was drunk, it just wasn’t his style.Word Count: 793 Tag: Ildri/Cal Notes: To lazy tonight to read it over sorry for errors.

Hearing his explanation for it she raised an eyebrow. Couldn’t the girl tell the difference between a good role model and a bad one? Clearly teenagers never changed in the aspect that they wanted to rebel, but there had to be limitations to what they thought was okay didn’t there? ”Teenage girls are weird then.” she noted with a shrug and no second thought to the implications of such a thing. Hey, she was pretending to be twenty after all and thus not a teenager anymore. Sure that didn’t give her room to talk on the subject as opposed to if she stated her real age, but hopefully she wouldn’t have to do so. She was pretty sure any human would give her some crazy looks if that were the case. Not that they sometimes didn’t as it was, but that wasn’t the point either. What was the point though? He noted how hard it was to enforce rules from college and that his sister would bug his mother about it. Kids really had no respect for what their parents wanted for them anymore. That was definitely something she didn’t have room to talk about, but hey as far as she was concerned her birth parents didn’t raise her and her adoptive parents weren’t her parents, and so the point was moot. ”Your mother has an issue with making your sister unhappy I guess? Or is it just dealing with whining about any rules she may make that causes them to be broken?” she asked curiously. It wasn’t meant to be offensive in any way, just a question, she was curious after all.
She saw the couple walk past as well and they seemed confused by the books on the floor. It wasn’t as if people had a habit of cleaning up after themselves anymore, so why should they really be surprised? Besides, the person could have just gone to grab something from another section before returning for all they knew. Anyway though they were really of no importance at the moment and she turned her attention back to the person next to her. He seemed to be almost a little homesick if that was the word for it. At least it looked like he missed being there if nothing else. She wondered if it was because of how he was raised. She was raised to live on her own, but then the parents didn’t want the kids to stay at home, they wanted them to go off and find a nice husband before settling down and having kids themselves. That wasn’t something she had ever brought herself to do though being that she had somehow never run into another immortal like her. Well, actually it was possible she had, but didn’t know it being that it wasn’t something that was typically not mentioned out in the open as such. She certainly didn’t say it unless forced to that was for sure.
Then he started talking again and she listened hearing why he got so worked up. It made far more sense when he put it that way. ”I don’t have siblings, or at least I never met them if I have them.” she noted simply with a shrug. His dad certainly seemed like a real winner that was for sure, why couldn’t anyone take responsibility now? Then again, responsibility wasn’t always taken then either, but if you are going to have a child with someone at least try to be there. She could ask if he ever tried, but honestly didn’t want to. The girl didn’t want the questions tossed back at her because they were complicated to answer and required her to probably make some stuff up. Most of it would probably be true, but it was sometimes almost as if she couldn’t lie. She could avoid the truth, but she couldn’t outright lie for whatever reason. It confused her at times honestly, but it was probably because she never really had an explanation of what she was and what she could do. Sure she had done research on creatures like her, but some of the things seemed a little odd, and she was a little apprehensive to actually find out.
She was pulled from her thoughts when he said that it was an awesome hobby and that he wished he could be that bold. Well, she didn’t exactly have anything to lose in the adventure. It wouldn’t kill her even if she didn’t shift in time. Would probably hurt a hell of a lot and she certainly didn’t want to find out what a fall like that would do to her, but still she found it falling. ”I like the feel of falling I guess.” she said with a shrug. Hearing him talk about general education classes she pondered if they would be in any classes together. His statement of foreign languages made her laugh slightly. ”You won’t see me in any of those I know enough languages. I doubt they even offer the ones I don’t know.” she noted being that she knew most of the main languages of the world. After all, she had been to most of the countries by now. His statement about being hilarious when drunk though made her roll her eyes. She wasn’t someone who ever drank enough to get drunk, so she wasn’t sure how she acted. Actually though, she imagined she would probably light someone on fire, and so she would rather not find out. Knowing her it would be one of her friends that ended up annoying her and she would end up probably hurting them if she was intoxicated because she probably wouldn’t care at that point.
