Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll saveBetter lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said Warren decided today would be an awesome day to just hang out, outside. He was sitting down on a bench underneath a tree with his book filled with essays. He didn’t have to finish the chapter he was reading until next week but decided it never hurt to finish an assignment early. As he sat there reading his eyes darted over the pages that were before him. He mostly liked all his classes; this class that he had to read the book for, Warren couldn’t help but love. He didn’t know what it was about this book full of essays but they intrigued him. Usually Warren wasn’t to much of an essay reader, most of them just got boring too continue reading. Or they were just plain generic and had nothing going for them. Warren glanced up from his book looking at people walking around or just plain hanging out with friends. He did spot a couple others like himself doing some sort of homework.
At this moment he had wished he had brought his notebook with him. He was getting all sorts of ideas to jot down for his creative writing class. Not that they had an assignment due any time soon but it was the brain storming couple of weeks. And he had yet to pick what type of story he wanted to write about. There were so many ways he could go with it. He hadn’t written a thriller yet and decided that maybe he would write something that would chill someone to the bone. It could even be a college setting even though it was a bit played out but if he had the write twist he could make it different. Sitting his book on his lap he sat there looking at the people all around him. He wondered what a good twist would be to a thriller short story. He began to drum his fingers on his chin like the answer would just come to him. Of course it doesn’t so he turns this way and that trying to get ideas. He looks at the trees and thinks to himself ‘killer trees?’ Shaking the idea out of his head, who would read a thriller on killer trees?
Laughs at himself for having the outrageous idea, then takes another peak around. No one had heard him laugh that he could see although if someone did he’d probably look crazy. Not that he minded he allowed himself to be weird at times. It not like his true friends really cared if he was a bit awkward sometimes. Besides who didn’t laugh at them selves out loud from time to time? A person that wasn’t too serious about looks that’s who and Warren happened to be one of those people. Grabbing his phone out of his pocket he sends a text to him mom letting her know he missed her. He wasn’t a mommas boy per say but she did rescue him from being an orphan the rest of his life. Not to mention the mutant powers his parents gave him. Warren obviously could have done with out the powers but even though he was there experiment they took him in as their own. He didn’t know to many kind-hearted people like that. Putting the phone back in to his pocket he grew bored and set his book down. Any type of distraction at the moment would be a good distraction.Word Count: 573 Tags:Ildri/Cal Notes: Sorry it took me a while to write! Ildri probably spent most of her time outside either reading or just climbing trees. She had spent much of the day doing both at separate times. Originally she had figured that it probably wasn’t a good idea to climb a tree while reading, but really what was the worst that could happen to her? She’d heal in a few days after all, and so she picked a tree and climbed up before finding a spot to sit and read for a while. It wasn’t too particularly high in the tree, being that the top didn’t particularly look stable enough to hold her unless she was in her bird form, and even then some of them probably would hold only a sparrow rather than a phoenix closer to the size of an eagle. Anyway though, she made herself as comfortable as possible before starting to read a book. It wasn’t a particularly interesting one, just one she found in the library on a random shelf. She probably should look before she grabs a book honestly, but she’s read so many that any title she didn’t know was something she tended to pick up. This one was not one she liked very much though, so maybe she wouldn’t even finish it and go get another one at some point.
For now though she’d just sit in the tree and stare off into space a little bit. It wasn’t much of a big deal being that the library was used to the way she went through books by now. At some point though she must have fallen asleep, and didn’t remember doing so. Sleeping in a tree was not advised though being that any little twitch would send you falling. Falling wasn’t something Ildri commonly worried about, but she could get hurt for a few days. It would be a pain to explain why she had a broken limb one day, but three days later it was completely healed when she was supposed to be just a pyrokinetic. Ah well, she’d figure something out, maybe she just twisted it rather than broke it, not like she needed to really go to a hospital, and so she could just lie or something. Besides, most of the people she knew now seemed to already know her secret, either due to her own fault or Alfred’s. It was a little annoying, but she would just deal with it.
She awakened with a slight start when a squirrel jumped on her and then she heard a crack. ”shit.” she swore slightly before she fell from her sitting position in the tree. She really wasn’t very high, but it was still going to be a shitty landing more than likely. What she wasn’t expecting, was that while she was asleep someone had showed up at the bottom of the tree and she had thusly landed on them. It was still a mildly unpleasant landing, and now it was an awkward landing. She blushed lightly and looked up to see who she landed on and noted that it was someone she had met once before. Alfred had shown up to her dorm with him not that long ago and they had talked a little bit. Well, she wouldn’t really have to explain why she wasn’t hurt to him at least. A few scrapes from branches that seemed to already be healing, but otherwise she was unharmed. ”Er….hi Warren…sorry about that” she said blushing still.

Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll saveBetter lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said Warren was sitting there still debating on different ways to kill people. If any one would have peaked in to his mind right now they probably would have thought he was insane. His mind went from bombs, to shot guns, to knives to chainsaws. But all seem to have been done before. Even burying someone alive was taken, even though he could put a twist on that one. It didn’t have to be someone trying to murder people maybe just an experiment gone wrong. He could relate to experiments, it would feel more authentic if he could write his emotions and how he felt. No one would have ever guessed it actually happened to him just that he was amazing at giving details. He chuckled to himself for thinking he was actually so clever. He opened his essay book once more and began to get in to the groove of reading. His brainstorming had been satisfied for now.
As he sat there nothing seemed out of the ordinary a couple leaves fell on his leg. But he gently picked them off placing them on the ground. He went back to reading in his calm place until he heard a women’s voice say ‘shit.’ Warren placed his book at his side and looked back and forth but from what he could see no one was around. Slightly worried that some sort of poltergeist found him or was walking around campus slightly freaked the young man out. He then heard a snap from above himself and looked up quickly. He saw a girl falling from not to high up and she came crashing down on to him. He wondered how he didn’t see her but chalked it up to he wasn’t one to be that observant. This girl wasn’t just any girl he noticed they met a couple weeks ago. She had beat Alfred in an arm wrestling contest, which made Alfred want a rematch. A smile spread along his face as he held Ildri in his lap. He noticed her little bumps and scrapes were disappearing right in front of his eyes. He knew she could heal fast but to see it in action was pretty awesome.
“Well I can now see you just can’t get enough of me. You know if you wanted to be in my lap you could have just asked.”
Warren teased but not in a harsh or mocking way his voice just carried a playful tone. He noticed she was blushing and that he had a pink tinge to his face as well. Well he wasn’t for certain but his face was getting hotter so he figured it was there or on it’s way. He looked up at the tree again wondering what the hell she was doing up there and being so quiet. Warren then saw a squirrel work it’s self down the tree looking at the two. It seemed to be shaking its fist and making little chattering noises. As if saying ‘yeah that’s right stay out of my tree!’ He couldn’t help but laugh at the little rodent but could imagine the squirrel pushing Ildri out of the tree. Shaking his head he looked back at the girl still currently in his lap. Wondering if she was still getting her head together about what just happened. He didn’t blame her for doing so, if he fell out of a tree he’d probably have to take a couple minutes too.
“So what were you doing up in that tree? I’ve been down here for a while and didn’t have any idea anyone was ever up there.”Word Count: 602 Tags:Ildri/Cal Notes: Sorry it took me a while to write! Lyrics: Secret- the pierces Out fit: Black T-shirt, Jeans and Converse

Well, Ildri had just landed in the lap of someone she knew. This was vaguely awkward now, but at least she knew the person. Though that didn’t make it too much less awkward considering it wasn’t someone she knew very well. It actually might have been less awkward if it was someone she didn’t know, being that she could probably just apologize before running off or whatever. Now she couldn’t exactly do that with someone she knew though. She reached up and brushed a leaf or two out of her hair that got stuck there on the way down. Idly she wondered what happened to the book she had. It was about then it landed on her head. ”…Ow.” she noted before rubbing the spot on her head which hurt mildly. Well, that answered her question. At least she hadn’t lost the book that she would have to return to the library at some point. While she could pay for a new one, it was a pain to do so. Thus she would rather return her books rather than have to buy new ones to replace those she lost. If she wanted to buy a book she would be keeping it certainly.
Hearing his question she giggled a bit. ”So, If I had asked to be in your lap you would have said yes?” she asked him to turn the statement around on him. She wondered how he would react, considering he was blushing right now. Ildri was blushing because she landed in someone’s lap, he was blushing why? It was then she heard the squirrel and glared at it before cursing at it in a few different languages that were not English. Stupid squirrel, knocking her out of the tree, and so her hair turned a vibrant orange before she breathed a little fire at it. It wasn’t enough to light the tree up, and it was certainly far enough away that it wouldn’t hurt Warren. It did, on the other hand, scare the squirrel a bit though. Which, she was very much satisfied with being that it had knocked her out of a tree when she was quite content. It was about then that she was asked another question about what she was doing in the tree. Apparently he didn’t realize she was up there, but that wasn’t much of a surprise. Unless you looked up then you wouldn’t have noticed her, and even then it’s hard to say, but it depended on the tree. She wasn’t very high up, so he probably would have spotted her.
”I was reading, and it wasn’t a particularly interesting book, so I guess I fell asleep.” she noted with a slight shrug. It wasn’t a big deal to her at all, and it certainly wasn’t as if she had a fear of falling or anything. ”The squirrel jumped on me, and being that this tree doesn’t have the most stable branches, it couldn’t handle me jumping in surprise.” she noted with a slight shrug. Technically, she was still in his lap, and didn’t particularly care to move unless he wanted her to. In which case, she could just sit next to him or something while they talked. Either way was fine with her, and she had certainly stopped blushing by now. Her hair had also returned from the orange to it’s normal red color being that it was only orange when she got annoyed.

Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll saveBetter lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said Warren watched as the book landed on Ildri’s head. He looked up wondering how many more things were going to come crashing down. But figured since she stayed in the secure place of his lap nothing else was going to come down. This made him relax a bit and he wasn’t sure what to do with his hands so he placed them securely at his sides. He didn’t mind her sitting on his lap even though they had only met once before this. It was an odd he never felt this comfortable around someone one the second meet. Besides Alfred who he trusted immediately as a young boy. That was different though because he was so young and naive he would have befriended any one who was nice to him at that age. His fingers picked at the grass a bit wondering if she was even comfortable where she sat. He stiffened for a moment as she flipped the question back on him. Warren wasn’t sure if he would have said yes. Either way it probably didn’t matter she would just stick him in the friendly zone since he wasn’t much of a guy to just go around hitting on everyone. He was the friendly face they came too when they needed advice or just someone to hang out with.
“I suppose I would yes. Even though I doubt you would just randomly walk up to me and ask. Right?”
His cheeks flair up a bit more he felt embarrassed. He knew this was just a hypothetical question and at first he had just been playing around. He didn’t know Ildri enough if she was just curious or wanted to see him squirm. Either way what ever she was doing it was working. His brain was going in to over drive at this one simple question. Any other guy would just shake it off being macho but Warren wasn’t that guy. He would never be that guy, not that was completely nerdy and didn’t no how to shake things off. Maybe it was just the situation they were in at the moment. It was clouding his judgment to be calm and collect. So he took in a deep breath and let it out slowly this seemed to be working quite well. He stopped his mind from racing to random conclusions.
He then saw Ildri’s hair change color to a vibrant orange. It surprised him a bit but nothing compared to the shock she gave him when she began to breath fire at the squirrel. He swore if this was a comedy the squirrel’s eyes would be popping out of it’s head as it ran but up the tree. Warren looked to see it the animal was barbequed but there were not remains anywhere. So he got away with maybe just a semi burnt tail. He wondered if the animal would now be out to get Ildri. He smirked to himself thinking it would be a hilarious story to tell. Warren took a second to glance over at the book that was now on the ground. He had never read it before but the cover looked plain. Not that it meant the book wasn’t interesting. Before he could even ask if the book was good or not she answered his question for him.
“Oh well what a random place to be able to sleep. Usually I only keel over and die when reading textbooks, they are the worst! To me at least, they put me to sleep in a heartbeat. Damn squirrels! He was probably just protecting his tree that you climbed up in to. Probably thinking you were taking a liking to it and falling asleep I’m guessing did help his patience either. By the way nice fire breathing I think you’ve scared him off for a while.”Word Count: 638 Tags:Ildri/Cal Notes: =] Lyrics: Secret- the pierces Outfit: Black T-shirt, Jeans and Converse

She noted that he looked up after the book fell on her head and did so as well wondering if the squirrel that jumped on her would throw anything at her like she had done to Alfred and Logan. Though, they thought she was a Communist squirrel for some reason. What weird people they were if they thought a squirrel could be partial to one form of government over another. Maybe it was because she was throwing acorns at America that he thought that? Would make sense considering the nation’s frequent disputes with others that had that form of government, but that wasn’t really important, because this squirrel was just a jackass. Why else would it throw someone out of a tree basically? Though maybe it was just extremely territorial, which would be weird considering it was a squirrel. His question made her ponder a moment. Would she ask him to sit on his lap at any point? Well, she did suppose that it probably depended on the situation. She would have to have a reason if she was going to ask someone to sit on their lap in the first place certainly. Just, now she had to answer that as his face seemed to turn redder. She gave another giggle at how her turning the question around had embarrassed him slightly.
”I suppose it would depend on the situation.” she said simply with a slightly thoughtful expression. If there were no seats and nobody she knew, well she’d probably sit on the floor, but maybe she’d ask if she knew someone. ”It wouldn’t be random though. I’d have to have a reason of some sort. It would be odd otherwise.” she noted simply with a light shrug. The girl certainly didn’t make a habit of going around and sitting on people just because she could, but if she had enough of a reason to then she might. Though, she couldn’t think of a reason at the moment. Maybe one would come up in the future or something though. Which could be amusing, because it would bring them back to this conversation certainly and make them very amused. Or well, she supposed it would probably amuse her more than him. Either way, time to move on to another topic being that she had nothing more to really say about it unless he did. Which, was entirely possible.
Then he started talking again about a tree being a random place to sleep. ”For a human maybe.” she noted simply, pointing out the fact that she really wasn’t entirely human. ”I’ve read a lot of books, and I just picked that one up at random. I should really at least read a description first. I just couldn’t get into it.” she noted with a slight smile. ”I’m in trees often, so the squirrel can deal with it. Good, I hope he’s terrified and doesn’t jump on me again.” she noted with a smile. ”Some legends say phoenixes are a female form of dragons, so the fire breathing does make sense if you believe that.” she stated shrugging a bit. It did make sense that she breathed fire, but she could also just create fire anywhere. There was just the fact that she had to learn how to control that originally, and thus quite a few things got lit on fire while she learned, but she was sure that was typical with everyone. ”So, what were you doing before I landed on you?” she asked him curiously, since he now knew what she had been doing.

Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll saveBetter lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said Warren nodded his head; he had to agree with Ildri. It would have to depend on the situation. He had only met her once but she seemed pretty straight forward and too the point. No funny business or small schemes were being made in her head like other girls would do. He felt a bit more at ease about being around her, like she could see more clearly with out a foggy haze that covers most girls in college. Then again she wasn’t as young as them either not that it mattered to him. He wondered how old she actually was. Was it rude to ask a girl there age or is it just weight? Pondering this for a moment he figured he could incorporate that question in to something. He doubted she would get mad and well if she did it would bug him… ok that’s a lie it would. It would bug him to no end till he apologized to her for being rude. And maybe that is why girls put him in the friend’s zone; he had no balls what so ever. Shaking his head he decided to eventually be bold and ask.
“Well I suppose it wouldn’t be odd now since you are all ready have sat on my lap. You know just for future reference. I’d honestly probably just offer my seat up; it does depend on the seat though. If it’s comfy then you’d just have to do with sitting on me lap.”
Grinning he couldn’t believe they were having a conversation about something so hypothetical. Ildri didn’t seem to mind though and he enjoyed that they could talk about something that most likely wouldn’t even happen. Then again when Warren had good company he could easily open up and talk about well most anything. A pang hit him that he could never really get to know her well and tell her his secrets… wait why did he want to tell his secrets anyway? He rolled his eyes at himself hoping she wasn’t catching on to the conflict going on in his mind. He knew it was a dangerous secret to let out and this fear stopped him from telling any one. Well besides Alfred but he knew his situation. Not to mention he was more classified than Warren. That obviously didn’t stop him from telling people but Warren was more reserved not wanting to spend the rest of his days stuck in a laboratory or somewhere worse until he was called upon if ever. He doubted they would ever lock Alfred up he was too valuable, unlike Warren who was very expendable.
“I suppose so, sometimes you randomly can pick a good read. It’s rare but it can happen on a good day. Do you feel more comfortable in trees and high up places? I’m sure he was just protecting something he has hidden up there afraid you were trying to hijack it. I doubt he will be approaching you again soon unless he is out for revenge. You never know he might be hunting down some squirrel friends to make sure you’re not up there again. A dragon? Well you’re a very pretty dragon if that’s the case. It is believable though since you just shot fire from you mouth. Do that often? Or just when squirrel’s are teasing you?”
His thoughts took off on wondering what Ildri would look like if she were a dragon. She’d probably be red all over her scales shinning like her hair was right now. Her eyes would probably be the same shining yet had a serious undertone. Warren let himself smile as his thoughts ran wild. He wondered if she liked being in Phoenix form. He didn’t know much about them but was surely going to read up on them now on the Internet.
“I was just out here reading my essay book. It’s for class and figured I could do some reading now so I won’t have to cram at the last minute. I was also thinking about a story I have to start in a couple weeks for my creative writing class. So your distraction from that is wonderful.”Word Count: 696 Tags:Ildri/Cal Notes: Lyrics: Secret- the pierces Outfit: Black T-shirt, Jeans and Converse

She pondered his response and shrugged a bit. ”I suppose that is true, and really?” she asked when he said that he would just offer her his seat unless it was particularly comfortable, and then she could just sit on his lap. Well, that worked just fine then, and it really was less awkward now that she realized who it was she landed on and now that they started talking about a hypothetical situation. Besides, it made it so she didn’t have to answer the question of if she wanted to be in his lap, and she was very much hoping he forgot about it being that she wasn’t sure what to answer. Just one of those things she wasn’t used to thinking about being that she was immortal and so usually serious relationships were off-limits. Well, pretty much all relationships were off-limits really because if she got attached it would become serious, and then she’d have to deal with either breaking up with them and being very upset about it, or watching them grow old and die. There was the fact that she could turn someone immortal, but she would have to figure out how, and there was the fact that they would have to be fine with being whatever age they were forever. That was, extremely complicated that was for certain, and she didn’t want to really go into it at all. Though, that wasn’t saying she had to, a simple yes or no would probably be fine, but she didn’t really know what she would answer anyway.
Then he started talking about how you could sometimes randomly pick a good book, but only every so often being that there were a lot of terrible ones now. It had never been easy to find a good book being that lots of things weren’t widely circulated, and so you had to search all over to find some. Then he asked if she was more comfortable in trees and high up places. Well, yeah she was actually, and the squirrel should learn the difference between people sitting in a tree and someone who wants to take over the tree. ”Yes, actually I am more comfortable up high. It’s not easy for me to fly around openly.” she said with a slight sigh, but then he called her a pretty dragon and she blinked at him and almost missed the question about her breathing fire. ”Thanks…Yes, I was lighting fireworks at Alfred’s birthday like that. He lit one and caught himself on fire.” she noted with a smile.
It was then he started answering her about what he had been doing out here, and so she discovered she interrupted his studying. Well, he didn’t seem bothered by it, and in fact seemed to appreciate it a bit. ”What’s the story about?” she asked curiously. Maybe that was the problem though? That he couldn’t come up with a topic, if that was the case then maybe she would be able to help. After all, she had read quite a few books and seen quite a few things, so if he needed ideas she could probably supply a few. That was one of the advantages of such a long life, all the things and places you got to see. It almost made it worth it at times, but it would have been better if she had someone that was immortal like she was.

Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll saveBetter lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said “Of course I would offer you my seat. That’s what acquaintances/friends do right? And I’m more of a stander anyway I like to move around and fidget. People hate it in class because I’m constantly moving. I once had a girl throw an eraser at my head to make me stop. Thankfully she is in none of my classes this semester.”
He noted that he only liked to keep busy when the class was boring. Because in his creative writing class he was always very still but then again he’s usually brain storming or actually writing even flipping ideas around with other class mates. It was just a way to not fall asleep and to reassure he’d get all the notes and things. Just like most people, Warren hated boring classes he couldn’t stand them. Nor did he understand people paying for classes then sleeping through them. They might as well flush that money down the toilet; it would be the same thing. He shook his head thinking about this but he snapped himself out of it. Ildri seemed to be deep in thought herself he wondered what she was thinking. He wanted to get to know Ildri better after there first time meeting, she seemed interesting. But of course for Warren walked away from her with out getting her number. This time he really didn’t want to make the same mistake.
“Can I have you number? I forgot to ask for it the first time we met.”
He grinned trying to be as casual as possible. He didn’t want her to think he was joking or just laugh him off. Some how he doubted Ildri was like most girls, well of course taking her being a phoenix out of the equation. He sat there hands propped up at his side, he let his mind slip back in to scanning the grounds. He was a people watcher but honestly that was the best way to get stories. Even if you just spot a unique person talking with someone else and begin making up random dialogue it could open many doors to new characters. He then let his eyes settle back on Ildri as she began to tell him she’s more comfortable in high up places.
“I don’t mind being up high, I’m just afraid of the falling. If you could fly openly would you do it all the time? Or does it hurt to morph in to a bird? You're welcome, and wow you were lighting off fire works? Weren’t you scared you were going to get burnt? Even if you can heal what that would still burn. Or are you fireproof?“
He smiled when she didn’t try and rush away from him when he mentioned studying. Some girl would take that as there line to leave even if he said he appreciated the distraction. He wasn’t sure what it was with girls, maybe he smelled bad to them? He laughed to himself on the inside, thinking of millions of girls just running for the hills.
“Not to sure, I think I’m going with Horror just because I haven’t written a story like that yet for this class. So I might as well expand my genres and see if I have what it takes to be a Stephen King. Before you landed on me I was scoping out people on the ground to see if I could add different scenarios with them to see how it would pan out. So far it hasn’t been that great.”Word Count: 590 Tags:Ildri/Cal Notes: Boop, boop boop! Lyrics: Secret- the pierces Outfit: Black T-shirt, Jeans and Converse

Hearing his statement she shrugged slightly and pondered it. ”Sometimes they do, but usually it’s more a manners thing than a friend thing. It depends on the era though, people used to do it all the time, but now it’s a little rarer to see.” she noted simply. ”Even if you were fidgeting, why did she feel the need to throw an eraser at you? That seems stupid.” she asked him with a confused look. Someone twitching about in class couldn’t possibly be that annoying could it? Distracting maybe, but it was easy enough to ignore things once you got used to them being there. Some people were rude though, and that probably had something to do with it. Anything that wasn’t important to them was annoying and so they were horribly rude to whoever or whatever they didn’t particularly care about. She had a few people like that in her classes, and usually told them if they kept it up she’d slightly light them on fire. That usually shut them up real quick. Who’s going to bother someone who is completely willing to light you on fire if you piss them off? It was entirely possible that they would think she was bluffing, but that could be solved pretty fast when they got burned. Or maybe it was just a known fact that you don’t piss off someone who’s a pyro.
Then he asked for her number and she smiled. ”Sure. Get out your phone and I’ll add myself.” she said simply. Hey, it was one way for certain that she made sure he would spell her name right. It was a little bit on the weird side after all. It was also usually easier to just type it in rather than say parts of a number and wait for them to get it. It really was easier to get in contact with people now that you didn’t have to send letters and wait for it. There was no possibility of texts getting lost in the mail unless your service was being stupid. Thus she could keep in contact with people far more easily, but the thing was she hadn’t tried to make friends really since she had been here. It wasn’t always easy to accept the fact that you’d outlive them. She decided that it really was just something she’d forever have to deal with though if she wanted to not be a hermit, and thus has given in on that slightly. Just slightly, being that she still didn’t exactly have many friends.
The topic shifted to more about her and how Warren had a vague fear of falling. It was understandable if you didn’t heal very quickly, or couldn’t fly. He had quite a few questions, ones that she hadn’t really ever been asked. ”I might, but I prefer looking human. It doesn’t hurt to shift, it’s just a pain because my clothes aren’t fireproof. I, on the other hand, am completely fireproof.” she said and to prove her point lit her hand on fire for a few moments. She couldn’t get burned, and so why fear fire? ”In order to shift I basically have to burst into flames, and so it’s not exactly easy to do most places unless I want to catch the things around me on fire.” she noted with a shrug. That was just something she had to deal with, and had accepted it by now that she had to go cliff diving if she wanted to shift without issue.
Then the conversation shifted to about what he was writing and he said he wanted to write a horror. He then stated that he was adding conversations to people to see how it would work and she smiled slightly. ”Well, this isn’t exactly the best scenery for a horror movie. You need a creepy forest, or at least the dark to make it fit more. How many horror stories happen in broad daylight after all? Because things just aren’t really scary during the day unless it’s a war or a plague.” she noted with a smile at him hoping that helped a little.

Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll saveBetter lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said “Psh manner’s who has those these days, no one. All the same I’d give up my seat for you. Yes I suppose that’s true it wasn’t too uncommon still to this day in some countries they still have prearranged marriages. Not so much in the states or even here in Canada to my knowledge. Well she’s kind of snotty in class so I couldn’t really expect anything else than that from her. Not to mention she liked my friend and asked me to put in a good word after trying to flirt with me. Needless to say things didn’t go her way and now she just straight up hates me. What can I say I make a great wingman.”
Shrugging off her confusion he was used to it by now. Girls just used him to get to his more hotter and attractive friends. Some girls did like him not that he was picky but some just had terrible personalities. He couldn’t get a word in sometimes or sometimes he would have to do all the talking. He might as well stay single if that was the case. He wasn’t desperate to have a girlfriend. And if he were fortunate enough to find someone he would want someone he could have a conversation with. If he wanted to talk to a wall he could surely find one to sit himself in front of. He didn’t mind being single; it was easier for him in a way. He didn’t have to feel as if he needed to share his secret. And if he did want to tell someone he didn’t have a special girl. So there was really no one to tell so he would just keep it to himself. He would feel awful anyway keeping something like that. They would confide in him and he could only tell them so much with out them getting suspicious. He hung his head a little at the thought but perked himself back up. Ildri had just agreed to give him her phone number. So he took it out of his pocket handing it to her.
“I’ll just text you so that you have mine also.”
He felt a bit giddy as he handed the phone over. He usually wasn’t this bold to ask for a number. He was glad he didn’t pass this opportunity up. He had a beautiful girl sitting on his lap. If he didn’t ask for her number now he never would. Plus it was such a semi awkward meeting anyway. Asking for her number would actually seem normal. He grinned as he saw her typing in her number. His fingers itched to glance at the number. She didn’t seem like one to play a joke on him and give out a fake number. He ran his hands along the grass that was underneath him. He looked patient on the outside but on the inside he was jumbled. He couldn’t believe how excited he felt over a number. Shaking his head and clearing his thoughts he slowed down his heartbeat. He hoped she hadn’t felt it almost pounding out of his chest. It slowed down his heart as they changed topics.
“Wow completely fireproof that’s awesome! Well that’s pretty cool all the same; I’d like to see that. At a distance of course, I bet it’s a wonderful site to see.”
He watched as she lit fire in her hands playing with it for a second. And before he could even think about touching it, the flame was gone. His eyes widened as he watched her hand dance with fire. He let his thoughts wander off to what she would look like bursting in to flame and then a bird. It was a different thought but beautiful just the same. He grinned at the thought and let him self refocus on Ildri.
“No it’s not but what could be more scary than a scene like this bursting in to horror. It’s so real, that’s why I like the idea of something going to terribly wrong. Maybe it just my twisted mind but I couldn’t think of any thing more frightening. It’s like an unexpected robbery going down. It’s terrifying to the people inside and to actually be in their minds I’m hoping to rattle people. I guess your right though, it’s not that really scary.”Word Count: 724 Tags:Ildri/Cal Notes: Sorry it took me a while to write! Lyrics: Secret- the pierces Outfit: Black T-shirt, Jeans and Converse

She giggled slightly when he spoke about nobody having manners anymore. Most of the time it was true, but there were a few exceptions clearly. It really depended on how you were raised, and some people just didn’t care to teach their children such things. They thought it was archaic and unneeded in today’s society. It was nice every so often though. Sure it wasn’t perpetually necessary, but once in a while it was nice. ”I’ve never liked them. Sure your parents probably do know you better than yourself to set you up with someone, but it doesn’t work exactly if your kid isn’t biologically yours and doesn’t actually age past twenty.” she noted with a slight frown. It wasn’t as if Ildri was from Canada or the States, and so it wasn’t that surprising that someone had tried to arrange a marriage for her in the past. ”Girls can be very bitchy like that.” she stated simply. Sure she was a girl, but that was more of a teenage thing and she was long past that. The girl was still considered rebellious at times, but she wasn’t about to hit on someone just to get them to talk to someone else for her that was dumb. Though that also was the sort of thing you did when you wanted to date someone, and she’d really never taken an interest in anyone.
It was then she took his phone and started imputing her name and number. It was easy enough to figure out, most of them were now, and once she did she handed the phone back to him. Once he texted her she would add him to her phone so maybe they could keep in contact. The girl really didn’t have many living friends, so her contact list was a bit on the empty side. At least it would give her someone else to talk to instead of her usual tiny group of people. Really she could be quite shy and quiet when around someone she wasn’t sure about. Or when she just didn’t feel like being social. Either way it led to her not making very many friends, and she preferred only having a small group. This made it easier because she really would have to deal with them growing older and dying eventually. The fewer funerals she had to go to, the less bitter she would be in the future about it.
”It would suck if someone who’s basically composed of fire could get burnt wouldn’t it?” she asked him with a smile. She really didn’t see why most didn’t guess she was fireproof. Then again, maybe some pyros weren’t fireproof. Ildri would definitely hate that, but there was also the fact that she wasn’t exactly just your average pyro either. ”Well I can give you a mental picture. Think of an eagle sized orange, purple, and red peacock.” she noted with a smile. If he was creative enough he would be able to picture it. Then he was talking about a scene bursting into horror, but still unless it was zombies it usually didn’t happen in broad daylight. ”Maybe you need a change of scenery then?” she asked him with a small smile. They could go for a walk or something if he wanted to get inspiration, or they could stay here and just shoot ideas back and forth. Either was fine with her, being that the one option made it that she would have to stand up and move, but she was slightly comfortable where she was sitting.

Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll saveBetter lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said “I see your point, that would be a very interesting marriage if they were expecting you to age with them and you didn’t. And selling your own kid it doesn’t sound to great. That’s one good thing my parents haven’t tried that. Then again I don’t know if they would ever try that. Let just hope they don’t think about it. Yes tell me about it. Her feelings were hurt but at the same time so were mine.”
Shrugging he really didn’t have much to say about the girl. She was nice to him when she wanted something then did a complete turn around when he told her she wouldn’t be getting what she wanted. He had felt bad when he told her he was going to be a pawn in her game. That feeling evaporated quickly when he realized that she was a piece of work that he never wanted to figure out. It drove him crazy how shallow some girls could really be. He always wanted to see the good in people. Sometimes there was just no-good left in people. Watching as Ildri typed in her number he wondered how soon was too son to text her. Of course he was with her right now and would try striking up a conversation. He figured after they both went there own ways he’d wait for a while then swing her a text. Besides he had to get his number to her some how and it seemed like the right opportunity.
So when she handed the phone back he put it in his pocket. It would be his luck though if he lost his phone somewhere. So he’d have to make sure he had it safe and sound. He wouldn’t want Ildri to think he was just being polite to ask for the number. He really wanted to get to know her, she seemed very interesting and sometimes could be intense. He was up for the challenge that was unusual in its self. He let a smile sweep across his face and thought about what she had just said. It would be weird if someone who could play with fire got burnt. It would be a shitty power that’s for sure. To be able to produce fire but as a result it hurt you. He was sure there was pretty sure there was no power like that. But he didn’t know everyone with mutant powers. There was no way to ever being sure if that could really happen.
“Yeah that would, I’ve never met anyone with powers like yours. They are interesting to see, I mean I only run fast. There is nothing glorious or awesome about that. Unless someone is trying to hurt me then I can get the hell out of there fast.”
He thought of the description she gave him. They image that he let float in his mind was wonderful. He knew he the mental image probably didn’t do the real thing justice. But it was amazing just the same, to see her soaring would be magnificent. He smiled at her as if saying ‘I see it’. He wasn’t sure if a change of scenery would help. It probably wouldn’t hurt but then they would have to find a place to go. He liked that Ildri was on his lap but wondered if this was her way of saying I want to get up with out hurting your feelings. He pondered on his options and figured to leave the question more open than it all ready was.
“I wouldn’t mind to walk around, but I’m cozy here too if you just want to toss ideas around. New ideas from people are always welcome it shows me a different way of looking at things.”Word Count: 627 Tags:Ildri/Cal Notes: post it kind of sucky sorry! Hearing his statement she had to nod slightly. It really would be an interesting marriage that was for sure. Eventually she would have had to explain to them what she was, and that they would grow old and die while she would remain alive and look basically the same forever. That was not really something that she liked explaining to anyone. The fact that she would have had to would have been hard for her, and so she definitely backed out of any arranged marriage that came her way. Sure she usually felt bad about doing it, but there wasn’t much choice for her at the time. She hadn’t learned about granting immortality all that long ago after all, and besides would she have really wanted to in the first place? She didn’t really want to now that was for sure. Would she have been more willing then? It was possible, but there was the fact that she didn’t know if she would fall in love with them to begin with, and so she just avoided it. Even if she had though, would they have even believed her? It was topics like this that she didn’t like getting on because she ended up thinking far too much about the past. So thus she didn’t really reply to the part about it being an interesting marriage, other than the nod she had given earlier, and instead went with the second part about the girl. ”A lot of people seem to be far more concerned with what they can get out of relationships rather than the actual relationship.” she noted with a slight frown.
That was about as close as she was ever going to get to saying the subject needed to move away from the past. Hearing his statement she smiled slightly. Powers was a much more welcome topic. She was assuming he meant the powers over fire, or maybe he just meant phoenix in general. Really it could be either so she should probably ask. ”Do you mean fire powers, or just overall phoenix powers?” she asked him curious as to which he was talking about. ”How fast is running fast?” she asked him simply to sort of put the question back to keep the conversation going. There were certainly different descriptions of fast depending on who you talked to. She was pretty sure he meant that his powers were being superfast, but there were even different variations to that even. Everyone had their top speed limits after all. She was considered in shape, but she wouldn’t consider herself a fast runner of any sort. Flying she wasn’t really fast at either, but usually if you got high enough then you were out of reach anyway so it didn’t matter if you were slow they couldn’t catch you anyway.
She described what she looked like in her bird form to him and she saw him seem to think about it. Then he smiled and she smiled back, and that was probably saying he got a mental image of it. Then he stated that he was cozy where he was, and that meant that he was perfectly okay with her sitting on his lap didn’t it? Should she just stay there then instead of them going somewhere for a change of scenes? Well, she supposed she would. ”A change of scenery requires getting up, and I’m comfy so… we can just say here.” she stated with a slight blush. ”Could always go with a serial killer pretending to be a student?” she stated throwing another idea out there for him.

Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll saveBetter lock it in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said I honestly think it’s just the age we are. Even though I was telling myself that in high school also. In high school at least you have the excuse of you’re a dumb teen, you know? In college what are you just an idiot adult also? But I get the whole ‘oh I just want to party and be free’. It just makes me wonder are people ever going to grow up? I’m a senior in college I don’t have time to party all the time. I want to get the hell out of here so I can have a job and actually do something with my life. Wow that turned in to a rant, sorry about that.”
He couldn’t believe he let one comment turn in to a tangent. He couldn’t help it and was glad he could actually express those feelings to someone else who would actually listen. Most girls and some guys would have gotten bored by now. Some of them being the partiers themselves or just straight up getting offended because a friend of a friend is like that. It was just what he thought of some people not every one was obviously like that. Ildri was right though a lot of people wanted to see what they could get out of the other person. Instead of just enjoying time with there significant other. He remembered a friend telling him a while ago a girl wanted a present every other week just so she could have something knew and shiny for herself. I mean really who does that to another person? Luckily the guy broke it off with her but she never understood or at least that’s the information he conveyed. People were strange he had to give them that.
“Both, your fire and phoenix powers, they are both new to me. It’s odd you think you’d see a lot more powers being used here. I remember when I first got here I thought I was at the wrong place. Until I noticed some guy frozen in the front of the school. I thought he was a statue then I walked by and his eyes were moving. It was really creepy. I’m pretty sure I ran from his as fast I could and never looked back. Well I can run so fast that it looks like I’m walking around and people are frozen in time. Its really peaceful when I go at that speed and I get a lot of great ideas.”
Smiling he wondered if she would want to join him one time. His powers weren’t the coolest you could have but they were nice just the same. Every ones powers were interesting in one way or another. Ildri’s were very interesting to him; she could produce fire, heal herself and turn in to a Phoenix. She had a nice assortment compared to most. Then again she wasn’t just a mutant like the rest of them. She was something more special and unique to Warren at least. He really wanted to get to know her better besides just these random meetings they were having. Well technically the first time wasn’t a random meeting but their first ever meeting.
“That quite all right with me, besides why would we want to walk around? We got a nice spot and possibly a killer squirrel plotting his revenge on you from the tree behind us.” Warren was grinning like an idiot. “Serial killers are good but you’d have to have why they are at the school how they got to the school. There are just so many obstacles to particular story line. Not that I’m not up for a challenge I just don’t think I’d have enough time to plan that all out. How about something supernatural? Like a shape shifter?”Word Count: 633 Tags:Ildri/Cal Notes: So you have a little something you can read at work. Lyrics: Secret- the pierces Outfit: Black T-shirt, Jeans and Converse
