And I feel like I'm some kind of Frankenstein Waiting for a shock to bring me back to life
But I don't want to spend my time Waiting for lightning to strike. “I wouldn’t say a rough start, I’d say it was normal… Ok it wasn’t normal but it wasn’t like the most traumatic thing ever. Then again I wasn’t a baby and really don’t remember so maybe it was more traumatic than I know? I want to believe that my parents told me everything but of course there is always the chance that they of course didn’t. They just found you walking through the forest? I could only imagine how confused you would have been just randomly turning human. So did they teach you to speak or did you just pick it up?”
He knew his start wasn’t as rough as Ildri, his parents found him at an orphanage. Well it wasn’t his parents but people found him and brought him in to the lab. Once they did tests figuring out he was healthy they began the tests. He wouldn’t call that too traumatic because he could have been walking around the forest like Ildri or his parents could have been killed. Well he really didn’t know if his biological parents were dead or not so technically he couldn’t say. It just didn’t seem as if anything critical went on with him at a young age for his mother to cling. H wondered if there was more to the story he had never asked because he knew al he needed to know. Digging in his past would just get hi in trouble more with himself than anyone else. He decided the best way to deal with his situation was to let it go. The past was the past after all and his biological parents got rid of him for some lame reason or another. He just really didn’t need negatives like that in his life.
“Well unless you lit them on fire or were just to unruly I couldn’t see them throwing you out at all.” Shrugs his shoulders. “So, what would happen to us in two thousand well less than that years?”
He was a bit concerned and even though he kept telling himself don’t waltz right in to this he couldn’t help it. It did bug him that he might have to start from the very beginning. Obviously not memories and things like that but what if she flies away from him as a phoenix… what if she never comes back? Or tries and they can’t find each other? Odds were that they would eventually find each other they had forever. It still scared the crap out of him, hopefully she didn’t see it but it was written all over his face. The worry and uncertainty, he did like Ildri and losing her now would be a big blow but nothing short of being reasonable. But if he fell in love with Ildri and she left, leaving him to roam the whole world with out her that alone might kill him. Warren was up to fear in his eyes, unable to stop the constant flow of thoughts. He wouldn’t want to lose her or have her disappear for six years then come back. But even if she was a bird would she know it was him? Or would she just peck and bite at Warren seeing him as a threat? Ildri answering his questions bringing him back to the real world. He laughed and snorted as she said she never turned on a TV before.
“Wow, never turned on a television, as a child well almost up until high school I was only allowed to watch an hour of TV. My mother would give me an assortment of books and toys to play with. As I got older she pushed me outside or on the track team to keep me going. So I guess it’s really not that strange. You are going to have to take me on some of your excursions around the world. It sounds so appealing I can’t lie about that. Not to sure if I would pick up on the languages, I’m a little slow when it comes that that. Then again I would have no choice but to learn, sink or swim right?”
He laughed a bit at himself wondering how he would do in a foreign country. He had a hard time learning a language out of a textbook but a lot of people did. He figured that experience would be different if the culture was all around him. He would gradually pick it up as people spoke around him and Ildri could always teach him if she knew the language. He looked at Ildri as she just shrugged off that he called her mean. It’s not like she’d go out of her way to beat people or anything but if you got on her bad side, he figured it was terrible.
“Really? It’s kind of lame when you are a kid, but really it’s not that bad. There are worse things that could happen to you that is for sure. I suppose so, I just think a lot of them have no idea what a baby entails or how to stop it from happening. Then again that’s just a guess may not be that accurate.”
He wasn’t sure what it was with teenagers, he was just glad he passed right over that craze. It wasn’t a fad that he wanted to be apart of and thankfully he didn’t have to be. Now girls not picking him to be the one in high school didn’t seem that bad now. He bypassed all that drama really quick by being a virgin for the longest time. And even when he did decide or well she decided she wanted him, he made sure that he was extra careful with all the precautions. He noticed that she smiled as she said he wanted to travel around a bit. He wasn’t to sure what this smile was for but glad that she did.
“Shark week, a total week on TV that tells you about all sorts of sharks! It’s pretty interesting to watch and they have neat footage of shark attacking. Sometimes they even have people on there that have been attacked by sharks.”
He raised an eyebrow not sure what she meant by there were predators in the water. He looked around for a huge mean marine animal but there were only dolphins. He still was confused but she said that dolphins were mean he looked out at them. They seemed so playful and happy! Then again it was still an animal and could turn mean any moment. So he nodded keeping an eye on them at all times, making sure they didn’t get closer.Word Count: 1108 Tag: Ildri/Cal Notes: posty post Lyrics::A boy a girl and a graveyard- Jeremy Messersmith

Regrets collect like old friends Here to relive your darkest moments I can see no way, I can see no way Hearing his statement then it didn’t make sense that she was so overprotective of him. ”Is there such a thing as a normal start?” she asked with a raised eyebrow. There was really no such thing as a normal start was there? Every single one was just a little bit different. She did suppose that there were probably some sort of guideline for what was generally considered normal. ”Yeah, it was weird at first, but then I couldn’t figure out how to turn back. It took a while to figure it out, and they taught me to speak. Though I did pick some of it up eventually, one of those things you do because you have to.” she noted with a shrug. It wasn’t that bad really, though it was a little weird. ”I spent the first six years as a bird, and most birds do get kicked out of a nest after so long anyway, if I was just a bird I probably would have been fine on my own.” she stated simply. Definitely was weird being around humans for the first time. ”I didn’t really act human in the slightest, so sometimes it was a bit unruly. I had to learn how to be human.” she stated simply. Not something that was easy certainly, because all she knew was how to act like a phoenix.
His question surprised her a bit. She hadn’t really expected him to ask unless he was sure he was going to become immortal really, but that was interesting certainly. ”A little over four hundred actually, but anyway nothing really. I have a house in Germany, and if you didn’t mind waiting it would just be spending time there. “ she stated simply. It was simple to her, though there were some parts that were relatively unpleasant. ”The days before restarting kind of suck, but other than that it’s not that bad.” she stated with a smile and a shrug. Really it wasn’t a big deal to her it was just a matter of waiting until she was back to normal. It was easy to stay in one place while she was starting over too because nobody questioned a child aging. They sometimes questioned where her parents were, but that would probably be more of an issue now than in the past. After all, stray children usually got carted off to an orphanage, and she certainly wouldn’t be dealing with that nonsense. Thus she would probably just stay at the house, or stay with Warren when she did leave. That is, if they ended up together, which right now they seemed to be heading in that direction maybe?
His statement made her shrug a bit. ”What reason have I had to turn one on? I’ve been around far longer than them and never saw a point. Everyone always just complains about nothing being on anyway.” she stated simply. He said that she would have to take him with her at some point on one of her trips. ”You would need a passport, and usually I’d just fly there, but if I’m going with you I’ll probably need one too. That’s how I learned languages. I know quite a few, but some I’m particularly bad at, and only know enough to hold a small conversation and ask directions.” she noted with a slight smile. She shrugged at his next statement, and really didn’t have anything else to comment on it. People could be extremely stupid at times, and why they didn’t realize that some things had consequences she blamed on the fact that it was possible nobody taught them. Sure maybe someone did and they were stupid anyway. Either way it wasn’t something she wanted to continue discussing honestly. She had definitely never been grounded, what good would that do? There was also the fact that it probably wouldn’t have worked on her anyway. Really she was kind of the type to do what she wanted whenever, and telling her she couldn’t do something was never a good plan.
Hearing his explanation of shark week she tilted her head slightly. Why did they give a week to shark when people were killed far more by other people and creatures. ”Honestly? I wouldn’t be surprised if dolphins killed more people than sharks, only on purpose. They bite and while playing they tend to cause supposed accidents. Considering they don’t really go after anything that would be remotely shaped like a person, it almost sounds like they do it on purpose. Dolphins definitely tend to bite that’s for sure.” she noted simply with a shrug. Not all nice looking creatures were quite what they seemed. ”I doubt they’ll come this close to shore though. It isn’t as if they really have reason to.” she noted with a vague shrug. Now, back to swimming, she would just have to remember to keep an eye out for the dolphins to see if they were getting closer, though really she’d probably notice before they got too close. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear though and pondered something. Well she might as well then and so she decided to take a chance. ”Warren?” she asked simply. It was basically to get his attention because she didn’t really have a question. Well, she did suppose it could be a sort of question, but it also could be thought of as a statement instead. With the way they were talking it seemed like a fine thing to do as well. Thus, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.

And I feel like I'm some kind of Frankenstein Waiting for a shock to bring me back to life
But I don't want to spend my time Waiting for lightning to strike. “Probably not, there are unique, scary, terrifying, hilarious and probably any other word besides normal ways to start your life. Even boring would probably be a more acceptable word than normal. “ Grins. “So how did you first discover that you could go back? And please don’t tell me you just randomly jumped off a cliff or something. That would be weird going from bird talk to human talk…” saying the last part more to himself. ”Do you still know how to talk like a bird? Or is English your more dominant language now?”
He wondered what it would be like to be able to shift in to a bird. He could only imagine it would be most certainly different. He also wondered if the thought process was the same as in bird and human form. Or if you turned more in to an animal when you changed. It would make sense but at the same time she was still part human.
“So did you get kicked out of your nest, or did you randomly wander away from the nest. Since you turned human you weren’t able to go back since you were not a phoenix anymore? I understand, you were a bird then a human. You really didn’t understand what was expected out of you as a human child. Anyone in your situation would have probably been unruly too. Did you parents ever figure out what you were before?”
Warren was curious about Ildri’s immortality, he figured if he was going to possibly become immortal one day he had to weigh all his options. That included the time Ildri was being reborn and stuck as a bird for a while. Not to mention watching her grow up from a child like state. He figured the first time would be hard to watch her go through everything. Especially dying, he wondered if she was in a lot of pain and would be crying out to him. He would most certainly be a mess and not ever be able to cope with that in a good way. Warren visibly shook thinking about Ildri sick in bed and he wouldn’t be able to do anything for her.
“That wouldn’t be too bad, I could handle that but I might be picking up an outdoor hobby. I don’t know if I’d be able to handle you in pain and sit there like nothing is wrong. Just thinking about it makes my head spin, its terrible. So when your sick can you get up and walk? Do you age super old or do you look like usual? Is there anything shocking that I should be warned of before hand? And I guess on the brighter side when you start over if I do become immortal I’ll look like a brother or dad figure. You won’t have to start over with people you don’t know.”
He was really trying to look at the bright side but it was a bit hard. Would he see Ildri different taking care of her from her rebirth? Although she will start out as a bird he had no idea how to take care of a bird! He had a fish once… lets just say he wanted to set it free and flushed it down the toilet. He wasn’t very good with his own pets, he figured he’d be a bit better since the last time he had a pet he was six. He was going to have to do some research on how to take care of her. He didn’t want to smother her and keep her in the house at all times. He doubted she wouldn’t like that and possibly set the house on fire but he wouldn’t want to let her out either. A fear of her never coming back was slowly consuming him all ready and they weren’t even at that stage in their life yet. Not even close for one he wasn’t even immortal and two Ildri knew she could turn someone immortal but didn’t even know how. This whole plan he had cooking in his head might not even work out in their favor.
“True, but sometimes it’s just interesting not to think about anything and stare at the screen. We are going to need a TV and some reception in your house in the woods. I’m sure it won’t be hard to get out there since everything is satellite now. I do like watching some shows on Tuesday night. You can’t take them away from me!” laughs to him self. “Ildri I have a passport I come from America remember not really a resident of Canada. So don’t worry I got that covered, you on the other hand it might be a bit harder to get one. Then again I’m sure Alfred could help out with that. Have you seen how many ID’s the boy has and how much clearance? And I know you’re mad at him right now, but you two have forever to work all this out. Which languages are you bad at? I’m sure we could get Rosetta stone or something.”
Warren’s eyes turned to huge saucers as Ildri began to explain that Dolphin’s probably killed more people than sharks. He looked back out in to the ocean and they were still far out playing around. So he really didn’t worry about the marine mammals too much. He listened intently as she began telling him that they probably do it on purpose. Seeing they don’t eat anything that looks like humans. He felt like they were around the campfire telling ghost stories, it really freaked him out. He relaxed a bit as she noted that they probably wouldn’t come close to shore. It was true and if he stuck more toward the shallow end he could easily get out of the water before anything attacked him.
“You swear they won’t come over here? I mean I don’t see why they would be; we are really close to shore. But still killer whales they go up on to shore to eat seals. Why can’t dolphins be the same way?”
Swimming around and kicking his feet he could feel the water flowing all around him. Not thinking about the stupid dolphins anymore he relaxed. Coming back up he noticed Ildri swimming around but she seemed to be thinking. He turned his attention to a shell by his feet and look at it curiously. He attention yanked away from the pretty little shell when Ildri said his name. Giving one more glance to the shell he turned to her figuring he could find a prettier shell on the beach. Turning around her lips met his, her hands going around his neck. Kissing her back he wrapped his hands around her waist. He closed his eyes and let the moment engulf all his senses. Pulling away for some air he opened his eyes and looked at the beautiful red head in front of him. He played with her hair and pushed some of it behind her ears.
“This is a dream isn’t it? This day has been way to magnificent for any of this to be real.”Word Count: 1193 Tag: Ildri/Cal Notes: Thought I saw you at my school today. But then I was like wait you don't live in Nevada! Lyrics::A boy a girl and a graveyard- Jeremy Messersmith

Regrets collect like old friends Here to relive your darkest moments I can see no way, I can see no way Yeah, there were definitely better words than normal to use for the start of a life. Nobody ever found that normal unless they had like a ton of kids or something and thus it became a normal birth or an abnormal birth. Which, that was definitely not normal in itself to have that many kids. He asked how she learned how to shift back and she had to think about it for a moment. ”I got really angry and burst into flames, thus turning into a phoenix. Luckily, nobody was around at the time because I had stormed off.” she stated with a smile. Yeah, she had a temper, even when she was a kid and it wasn’t something she had been able to calm too much. Sure it was a little better, but not that much. That probably had something to do with the fact that she was a phoenix and thus fire, and fire usually meant temper. She listened to him and had to giggle when he asked if English was her primary language now. That wasn’t even close to true. ”Warren….I’m from Scandinavia. English isn’t even close to my primary language. I’ve spent most of my life in Europe. It is in Canada, but anywhere else not so much.” she noted with a raised eyebrow. You just couldn’t really distinguish her accent due to the fact that she had lived all over the world, and accents changed drastically over time. ”I have about a six year old’s understanding of the bird language.” she stated with a shrug.
His next question made her shrug a bit. ”A little bit of both really. I was a full grown bird at like two months, and stayed to learn a few things for a few years.” she noted with a shrug, and yeah she definitely didn’t understand what it was like to be a human kid rather than a phoenix one. So thus it was definitely complicated. His question about her parents figuring out what she was made her think for a minute. ”Uhm, I don’t think they did. They knew I could control fire obviously, but I’m not sure they figured out what I really was. If they did then they said nothing about it. Though I imagine they figured out that I wasn’t entirely human.” she noted with a vague shrug. She really didn’t actually know the answer to his question because they never told her. It did give him more information about her though, so it served it’s purpose she supposed. She didn’t have a problem with the questions either, just so long as he expected them back later. She’d definitely want to know more about him than the things she knew now. Maybe they would tell one another more as they grew closer.
Hearing him say about her in pain and him not being able to watch it she sighed. Yeah, it was horrible, and maybe it would be better if she didn’t give him too many details. His questions though made it so she had to answer to some extent, if he really wanted to know she supposed he may find out eventually anyway. At least she wouldn’t shock him with it if he did end up immortal. ”It depends on the hour. It starts the day before, and starts as your average cold, then it goes to the flu, then it goes closer to the plague, and then at the end it’s basically similar to stage four cancer. I look the same, I just tend to cough up a lot of blood in the two hours before I reset.” she noted simply. In a way there really was a lot of shocking things that he should probably be warned about it. ”You’ll have to stand back when I actually reset though; I burst into quite a hot and possibly blinding flame.” she stated with a shrug. ”I started over by myself last time, just hung out in a forest for six years, then wandered around as an orphan. Made it easier seeing as then nobody would get to know me enough to realize I stopped aging at eighteen.” she stated simply. Really, she had all the knowledge from her past life, and thus knew how to take care of herself quite easily. It wasn’t like there was really anything to take care of either. All she had to do was sleep and move around, didn’t even have to eat actually.
She laughed slightly at his statement. ”Fine fine, I’ve been meaning to redecorate anyway. I will just have to tease you about your shows.” she noted with a grin. Of course she would have to tease him about having to watch something silly like a TV every week. Then he spoke like it would be obvious that he had a passport. ”I’m not very good at distinguishing modern accents. I don’t have a passport, and I came here from Germany, so I figured if I managed it others could, or maybe you were Canadian. I have quite a few IDs as well, and only one is in English. It used to be a lot easier to forge documents.” she noted with a shrug. Yeah, she missed the days when you didn’t need a passport to travel countries, or when they didn’t have all sorts of security measures that made it difficult to replicate them. Yes, she was mad at Alfred, but if he actually felt sorry then she would forgive him, for now though she was annoyed that he didn’t even sound like he cared that he did it. ”Languages I’m bad at would be Hebrew, Swedish, Dutch, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. The last three are horribly complicated, and I haven’t quite picked them up yet. I can do simple questions and hold a short conversation, but otherwise I get lost.” she noted simply. Those were the major ones she could think of that she was bad at, and there were probably others. She had never been to Africa really other than a few Arabic nations, so she didn’t know any tribal languages either, but she doubted Rosetta stone would have those either.
Seeing his slight panic over the dolphins she hoped he wouldn’t freak out too much. His question made her ponder for a moment. ”Studies show that dolphins are more intelligent than some humans I’ve met, so I doubt they would risk beaching themselves.” she said with a smile. She had also met some remarkably dumb people, but they weren’t really worth mentioning she didn’t think. Then she said his name and kissed him. If anything, she had definitely surprised him, which was kind of what she was going for. He kissed her back and wrapped his hands around her waist. When he pulled back she left her arms where they were and blushed a bit. She let him push some of her hair behind her ears and smiled slightly. ”You tell me, is it a dream?” she asked with a grin before leaning up and kissing him again. This was one way to bring him to believe it wasn’t a dream she supposed, or she could have pinched him, but this was more fun.

“So do you always have to get mad to shift or have you found a point where you can just spontaneously burst in to flames? And yes that was very lucky, I’m sure the forest didn’t feel as grateful. Do trees and plants even have feelings? Hmm I’m sure they do to some point.” Saying the last bit more to himself than Ildri.
He let his thoughts take off wondering how much a tree can feel. It seemed like a silly thought but he couldn’t help but think he was on to something. He knew Shel Silverstein wrote a book about a tree. So who says he didn’t have a weird encounter with a tree like that? He kept pondering upon the subject even though he wasn’t a hundred percent sure why he did. He then wondered if Ildri could talk to trees in bird form or even talk to other animals. He knew every animal has there own way of communicating but was there a central language they all used? Finally pulled back to reality as Ildri said his name he refocused.
“Oh wow I was really off the marker this time. Scandinavia, sounds like a fun place to grow up. I’m sure for you it’s boring because you’ve lived there. Everything is less exciting when you have lived there a period of time. Takes away all the magic you think can happen there I’m sure. Oh so you’re a European girl, you shave you legs right?” Lets a little smirk form on his lips and a small laugh that indicates he’s just poking fun. “So can you speak to me in the bird language or do you have to be a phoenix to talk like that?”
Warren nodded as she began to explain on of her past lives. He didn’t think she would be so open to sharing about them. She didn’t seemed like she opened up to a lot of people. He doubted a lot of people even asked about where she came from. Or they were too afraid to even approach her. He had to admit if he hadn’t been introduced to Ildri he probably would have never in a million years come up and said hi. It wasn’t like she was ugly; no Ildri was beautiful her soft skin and features were welcoming. It was just sometimes her eyes could get so cold they could cut right through you. He had seen that look when both of them saw Alfred cheating on Chaya. If looks could have killed that day Alfred would be dead twenty times over.
“Even if they did how do you start a conversation like that? At least they accepted you for who you were, even though they didn’t know a hundred percent. “
He let it go with that, because if she didn’t know there wasn’t really any reason to continue with that certain conversation. It would just be making predictions of what they thought. He wondered when she would start asking him questions. It made him slightly nervous to think about it. Should he lie? No how could he lie to her she had been so open with him about everything. He kept fidgeting around till he figured once he had to cross that bridge he would make a decision. She did keep secrets very well, with her own being so guarded.
“Oh, Well I can handle the flu part, but we will have to see about the coughing up blood. I might actually faint if I saw that the first time, it could be our hilarious joke for eternity. “ Trying to lighten the mood just a bit. “So when you are about to burst in to flame are you still in the house? Do we need to fire proof it or anything like that so it doesn’t burn down? So if I were with you when you started over would you still go hide in the forest? Or would you stick around where ever I was?”
He eyed her carefully this is the question he had been asking himself the whole time. Would she stick around or would she spread her wings and fly else where for a while? He didn’t want to have to be alone for six years; at least she’d be there even if she were a bird. He would be able to talk with her and not feel lonely because she would be there. He chewed on his cheek for a moment before smiling when she said she had been meaning to redecorate anyway. But she would tease him about his shows, Warren didn’t expect anything less from her. Plus she might get involved in his TV shows and he in return could make fun of her.
“You can tease me as long as it’s not when my shows are on. Or the news, sometimes they actually tell you helpful and interesting things. Oh well, I’m just from America nothing special. I probably could have gotten here with out a passport but why not have the documents you need? Plus I travel a lot back and forth so it just makes it easier if I have my passport handy. What other types of ID’s do you have?”
He smiled as she said it used to be easier to forge documents and he was sure that was true. Now you needed a passport if you were going to visit someone two states over. Ok that was a bit dramatic but his point was you needed to have a passport if you wanted to do any sort of travel out of your own country. It made the world safer he had to agree but it was just a pain in the ass. Then add on the fear of losing it or someone stealing it and you can’t even enjoy your vacation.
“Well we can always take classes and brush up on that through different types of methods. I mean I’d have to start from scratch and it looks like you all ready have a great handle on multiple languages. And I will have a long time to learn each and every one of them. Unless of course I’m not that great then you will have to talk to everyone.”
He didn’t mind if Ildri did all the talking, he’d probably be in love with all the food going on. Unless it was something like a fried scorpion then they would be having some issues. He was down to try a new menu in a different country but bugs were not part of that menu.
“Yeah, your probably right what would a dolphin want with us anyway?”
Kissing Ildri was the most wonderful feeling he had ever experienced. It felt like that kiss was full of electricity and it was now buzzing through his body. His eyes looking at hers as he leaned back, leaving her arms around his neck. He noticed a small blush creep on to her cheeks. She asked him to tell her if it was a dream, but before he had time to answer her lips were on his again. He pulled her closer without even realizing what he was doing it was so natural. This kiss was something so much better than any other kisses he had received even though they were far and widely spread from each other. He moved one hand from her waist in to her hair and let his fingers play. Moving away once again not wanting to but needing to for air he looked at her. Thankfully the water was cold and kept a certain lower region at bay.
“This is definitely not a dream.” Pulling her in again for another kiss.

Regrets collect like old friends Here to relive your darkest moments I can see no way, I can see no way She smiled as his question a bit being that it made sense with what she had previously said, though you would think that someone would guess that she had control over it by now. That might not have been the case though, so it was always better to ask she supposed. ”No, but if I get pissed enough I will shift. I can shift at will though. The forest didn’t notice…I was on a path. I have no idea if plants have feelings.” she stated simply with a slight shrug. She didn’t really ponder about trees and plants having feelings being that while she was a bird she was raised human and thus didn’t particularly care that much. They were just a place for her to sit as far as she was concerned really, and while she should probably care more, she didn’t. Thus she didn’t think about it, and while it was an interesting thought, they had other questions to move onto. She’d have to turn the questions to him later definitely. For now she was fine with the subject on her as long as it avoided a few touchy topics. He seemed to not really ask about her immortality in general though, or tell her what a disaster turning someone immortal may be and thus she was perfectly fine.
She giggled when he admitted to being way off of the marker. Well, in his defense she didn’t really have an accent you could definitively place being that she didn’t stay anywhere for very long. ”It was interesting. Did you really think the name Ildri was Canadian though?” she mused with a slight grin. ”I’ve lived a lot of places, but I still find many of them quite fun even after going to them a few times.” she stated simply. His next question earned a slight eye roll even if he was kidding. ”Yes.” she said simply. That wasn’t a question that needed elaborated on really, and she probably didn’t even have to answer it. ”Nope, different vocal chords. I can’t speak any language but bird when in my Phoenix form though.” she noted with a smile. Ildri really didn’t talk about herself much because she had a secret to keep, but Warren was told instantly. She had definitely been annoyed about that, but now it seemed to work out pretty well actually. She was kind of glad to have someone to talk to that would just listen and ask questions instead of trying to claim they understood how she felt when they clearly didn’t. Unless you were immortal, you didn’t understand what it was like to be immortal. It was something that was hard to empathize with at times.
His question made her shrug a bit. She did suppose they accepted her, and that would be a weird conversation to have. Especially being that she was technically a child and only knew what she was in the language of the phoenixes. She hadn’t learned the human translation until later. So it would have gone with a question of what she was, and the only answer she could give was a bird with fire. That probably would have caused more questions. Like when she was drunk and trying to explain what she was. That had not been one of her better moments really. Then he started talking about how he might actually faint if he saw her coughing up blood. She had to giggle a bit at that. ”Are you squeamish around blood Warren?” she asked with a light teasing tone. Then he asked if she was still in the house and she gave him a look like that should have been an obvious answer. ”Definitely not, outside is preferred for obvious reasons. No, I wouldn’t go into the forest. Why would I? It’s not like I would need to hide if I was at my own house with you. I bought it after I started over last time and really wasn’t sure what to expect when I started over honestly.” she noted with a smile.
She grinned when he said that as long as it wasn’t when his shows were on she could tease him. Then he said she couldn’t interrupt the news either and raised an eyebrow at him. ”I suggest you learn German then, because while they speak quite a bit of English there, I doubt the news will be in it.” she pointed out simply. He said that America was nothing special and she had to giggle a bit. ”I donno, he seems pretty special to me. For a while I was convinced not being able to keep a secret was his power.” she stated with a shrug. ”I’ve only been there once, and it was quite a while ago now. I didn’t venture over here too much. First time I was on this side of the world was during World War two. I didn’t want to deal with the Nazi’s and so I went to the Amazon.” she stated with a smile. ”I have one from Prussia, one from Germany, one is in Russian…Then I have one in Spanish. I don’t remember where they’re from since multiple places speak the languages.” she said with a shrug.
His comment on learning through classes made her shrug. ”I’ve never been good at learning a language through a class unless I was young at the time.” she said with a slight frown. It was just easier to pick up on when she was a kid or when she was living it. ”There’s plenty of time to learn.” she said with a shrug and a smile. She’d be able to manage translating and would probably adjust to the languages she wasn’t used to by the time he picked up some of them. So it could work out rather well, and she could definitely teach him. It would definitely be an interesting experience certainly. Thus, it could actually be quite fun, and she was almost looking forward to it if it worked out. Then she went and reminded herself that it might not actually work out. She didn’t really want to think about that though at the moment, and so she focused more on his question of what a dolphin would want with them. ”Other than maybe to play, I can’t think of anything.” she said with a bright smile at him. Then she kissed him, and he seemed to think it was a dream. That was almost amusing to her being that she had to work up to kiss him in the first place. If it was just a dream then she would have to wake up and do so again, but she was pretty convinced it wasn’t. Then she kissed him again to let him figure that out and felt his hand move from her waist to her hair. He pulled back and looked at her and she had to smile slightly. Hearing his statement she giggled a bit before he pulled her in for another kiss. Every other time she had kissed him first, and so this was a little bit different. She kissed him back and moved one of her hands up to play with his hair. While kissing him she pulled herself closer. When she pulled back again she noted that the sun was setting actually. ”Do we want to get dried off and changed before the sun sets?” she asked him curiously.

And I feel like I'm some kind of Frankenstein Waiting for a shock to bring me back to life
But I don't want to spend my time Waiting for lightning to strike. “Well that’s always good to know, I will stay clear of you when you’re mad. Unless of course I can help calm you down. Then again if I choose to be immortal I could be around you with out any worry right? Even if you did burn me, you couldn’t hurt me right? Yeah, not to sure either if plants have feelings… sorry that was such a random question to ask.”
He slightly blushed as the random thought had come out of his mouth. How silly was it to talk about if plants and trees had feelings. Ildri didn’t seem like she was one to think about those types of things. Maybe them being together they could show each other both sides of the coin they sit on. They were both polar opposites, yet they had things in common and could show each other different things to love. This was one thing, being out here on the beach he loved it but would never come out here alone. Even though Ildri would and did to change in to bird form. He smiled as he realized she was sharing something so precious with him. This was a stronger bond to him than being immortal with her forever. Even though that would be precious in it’s own category, spending forever together. He mulled over those words in his mind forever. It was a long time and was he really ready to commit to that? The answer was a simple yes or no, he did enjoy being with her and spending time like this with her. It was intimate with out having to speak a word just being together like this.
“No, I didn’t think you were Canadian but maybe you moved here and settled here young. But now that you’ve told me that you’ve been everywhere it seems like a silly thought now. Maybe one day you can show me those fun places and we can explore and venture them together.” Warren laughs as she answers yes to his shaving question. “I’d like to hear you talk in your bird language. I bet it’s wonderful and peaceful to hear.”
His smile grew as Ildri was openly talking to him about her phoenix form. He somehow felt special as he figured she probably didn’t tell anyone else about this. She seemed to guard her secret well just like he has for years. He felt an urge to open up to her and tell her everything about him. He held this back in fear, he wasn’t sure why. Maybe she’d think differently of him? He wasn’t just a mutant after all he was a government project. Something that shouldn’t haven’t ever been produced in the natural order of things. At least she was a natural being born a phoenix dying a phoenix and coming back as one. Shaking his head he let the thoughts float away. She hadn’t even asked about him, maybe she was afraid she’d find out something she didn’t want to know. He ran a hand through his hair caught up in his thoughts until she began to talk once again. He took the distraction with open arms freeing his mind from calling him some sort of messed up Frankenstein.
“A bit, I haven’t actually seen blood sprawled all over the place. And I doubt you’ll be spewing up blood that bad but still. Just seeing it I might have to excuse myself and do some breathing exercises.” Grins, as she said definitely not. “Yeah I mean I figured fire in a house was probably not a good idea, but I wouldn’t want you outside either. I’d want you safe inside with me even if I do have to excuse myself frequently. Oh good I wouldn’t want you running off in to the forest. I’d be so lost with out you and worrying the whole time if you were ok. But when your a phoenix for six years wouldn’t you set the place on fire if you came inside? Do you have some sort of house outside that you rest in? Well at least you have a place that’s yours, and a good place to start.”
Warren was full of questions and hoped she didn’t mind. He figured if she did, he would be shut out by now. But she answered all his questions with ease like she had been rehearsing this for years. Waiting for the right person to pop along and tell her secret too. He doubted that was true but he slightly hoped he was the man for her. He had never felt this way about a girl, especially one he really just met. What kind of spell did she put on him? He couldn’t help but like every moment of it and the way they talked. He watched as she grinned about him saying no teasing him when his shows were on. He heard her say he better learn German then, he wonder how hard German was? Or if his mother could develop something for him that could help him along with learning new languages. He might just have to ask her about it and hope there weren’t to many questions. Then again with his mother there was always questions, so maybe that wouldn’t be a good idea. He wouldn’t and couldn’t give Ildri’s secret away especially to his mother she’d want to poke and prod at the poor girl. It wasn’t that she’d want to be rude; she’s just a scientist.
“Yes, maybe I should start learning that soon then. You know just to get a head start it couldn’t hurt.” Warren laughs about her comment on America. “I keep forgetting Alfred is America, maybe it’s one of his secret powers that’s not so secret. Well maybe on my next visit you can come with me and meet my parents? World war two is such a long time ago it’s much better now. I could take you out for a nice dinner in D.C. or we could even mosey over to Seattle its wonderful there…. You went to the amazon? I bet that was a fun adventure! Wow, that’s a lot of ID’s to have.”
He wondered how many ID’s he would have if he was to be immortal. Or if he would be able to acquire ID’s easier since he was under to government. He was pretty sure they wouldn’t want him forging anything when he could just get them so easily. He’d be a long lasting experiment, he wondered how pleased they would be. Or if they would just try and interrogate him about how he is staying so young. Although he could always lie and say he thought it was part of the serum his mother gave to him as a child. He was a bad liar though and doubted the government would even listen to him.
“Well I guess that isn’t to much of a problem since you can just travel around and communicate with the people who know the language. Yes your right there is plenty of time, were in no rush right?”
Yet somehow he could feel time ticking around him like a bomb. There was no rush for Ildri she technically wasn’t getting any older. Ok she was but not aging physically any older and still had a lot of time on her hands. Him on the other hand some how he could feel himself aging by the second microscopically. His skin sagging very slowly as the minutes went by. He wondered how strange it would be to be twenty-two forever, it wasn’t a bad age to stop at actually. Not to old and just old enough to be able to vote and drink comfortably in any country. He wouldn’t mind looking like this forever and no plastic surgery could ever make him look like this again. He ran a hand though his curly hair; he wondered what he would look like if he cut it off. Maybe he would have to try that soon just to give a different look to himself. He smiled as she said other to play she couldn’t think why the Dolphins would come closer.
“Good I wouldn’t want them to come over and ruin this.”
He couldn’t help but enjoy that all this kissing wasn’t just a dream. He felt her hand tangle its self in his hair and pulled him closer. He let himself be flush against Ildri and not believing this was real. She had actually kissed him, she wanted this and from how his body language was he wanted this too. When she pulled back he couldn’t help but let a little pout surface on his face. He looked up at the sun and noticed that it was going down and that didn’t mean that they couldn’t always go night swimming later although it probably wasn’t the safest things to do. He reluctantly nodded to her question. Then taking her hand he led her out of the ocean and toward their campsite. But a smirk appeared on his mouth and with out any hesitation he picked her up bridal style spinning her around then placing a kiss on her lips before putting her down.
“So do you want to change first and I’ll start setting up chairs and maybe we can eat a little something?”Word Count: 1555 Tag: Ildri/Cal Notes: Holy crap! Longest post I've ever written and will probably never happen again. =D Lyrics::A boy a girl and a graveyard- Jeremy Messersmith

Regrets collect like old friends Here to relive your darkest moments I can see no way, I can see no way Hearing his statement of him helping her calm down she shrugged a bit. There really wasn’t much he would be able to do really. Just would have to let her cool off or whatever. She had to get it out of her system and blow off steam literally. ”There wouldn’t really be anything you could do. I just have to get it out of my system. Honestly? I’m not really sure. There’s a way to kill everything even if it is immortal…” she said simply. Definitely wasn’t sure about what he would be immune to if he decided to become immortal. The fact that he may not decide to and this may not work out reminded her why she tended to stay away from relationships to begin with. Her mood kind of dipped there for a moment, but he seemed to apologize for asking a random question about plants having feelings. ”Don’t worry about it.” she said simply while he blushed. Sure maybe she didn’t particularly care about plants having feelings, but maybe he did and thus had asked. She probably should have thought about her answer a bit more, but too late for that now. She’d just have to do so in the future because right now it was a bit irrelevant.
His next explanation made a lot more sense than him thinking she was Canadian. After all, it wasn’t as if it was discovered long enough ago that she was able to have lived there for very long. ”Canada wasn’t discovered long enough ago for me to have moved here young. I actually haven’t been here before.” she said simply with a smile. If you took into account her age, it definitely changed what countries were actually around when she was younger. Well, the land was obviously still there, but nobody knew about it really. A few did, but they weren’t really telling anyone. They wanted it all for themselves, and so most people stayed unaware of the north and south Americas. Anyway it wasn’t all that important at the moment, and being that there wasn’t exactly a ton known about the time period, it was an excusable mistake. She still hadn’t been everywhere in the world yet despite how long she lived. Mostly it was this side of the world she didn’t explore as much, and she kind of looked forward to seeing it. ”I haven’t been everywhere, just a lot of places. If we decide to go to places I’ve been though I can possibly show you my favorite spots if they still exist.” she said with a smile. That was definitely an option there. ”I’m not really a good judge on how it sounds.” she noted with a shrug.
She heard him explain how he was a bit squeamish around possibly a lot of blood. He doubted she’d be spewing up that much, and she did too. ”It won’t be that much, and you could always just not watch. It only lasts about two hours.” she stated. She said it only lasted two hours, but it felt like a hell of a lot longer and it was absolutely horrible to go through that. She wasn’t about to really mention that little detail though. Probably better if he didn’t know that until it was maybe happening. ”I’d prefer to be outside actually. I’ll just lay in a pile of blankets and try and sleep through most of it.” she said with a sigh. ”Like I said, I have no reason to run into the forest. I can control how much fire my wings produce. Phoenixes live in the forest not burn it down.” she pointed out with a smile. ”I needed a place to keep my things.” she said with a smile. Really, that was pretty much the reason she got the place to begin with.
Hearing him say he should start learning it soon she smiled. Hey, it definitely couldn’t hurt to learn another language. ”English and German both take a lot of words from Latin, and so they have similarities.” she said with a smile. ”I am convinced it is.” she said referring to it being one of Alfred’s secret powers or something. Then he suggested that she come with him and meet his parents. That was, definitely a bit of a shock, especially being that he basically said he would take her on a date after. ”Really? Yeah, alright, though you might want to tell your parents first.” she mused with a smile. ”It was interesting definitely, and some countries required them so I had to get them.” she stated with a sigh. She would have rather not had an ID to begin with, but that was unavoidable. Thus, she had gotten one and just dealt with the forgery. It became increasingly harder to do that though unfortunately. ”It was far easier when everyone knew Latin as well so I at least had a fallback for certain words when I didn’t quite understand them yet. It definitely was easier to pick up when I was living with the language all around me than just trying to learn it from a book or teacher.” she said with a smile. She may have said that there was no rush, but she knew that she was the only one that really had all of the time in the world. He really did not have the amount of time she did, and so there was some sort of rush, but she didn’t want to rush too much because then it could just not end well. It could turn out that they weren’t compatible and thus it could be a problem if he was already immortal. She didn’t want to leave someone immortal and miserable by themselves. That just wasn’t really fair, and she was pretty sure you couldn’t take back immortality. So thus, she wasn’t going to rush this too much, but she would definitely have to keep in mind that she couldn’t wait forever to decide on this.
She giggled slightly when he said he didn’t want the dolphins to come ruin their kissing. Then he started pouting about how she said they should probably go get changed and maybe start a fire. After all, the water would possibly cool down more when the sun went down, and while she couldn’t get cold, he could. Thus, she had suggested they go get changed before it got too dark to see. They still had to set up sleeping arrangements too after all, and if it was still light then it would be much easier to set up. There was no risk of her setting something on fire for light either that way. He took her hand and let her towards the campsite. She went along with it just fine walking along with him. Then he picked her up and spun her around with a kiss before putting her down. She gave a bit of a squeak in surprise too when she was picked up being that she wasn’t expecting it in the slightest. ”Yeah I’ll get changed first, and then once you get dressed we can set up sleeping arrangements?” she asked with a smile. He would have noticed that she was actually already dry when he picked her up. She wandered over to her car and grabbed a bag full of clothes along with some blankets and other sleeping things. She managed to open the tent and then tossed everything inside. She then made a second trip for the rest of the stuff she knew was going in the tent before crawling in to get changed. The girl shut the tent before changing into what she’d be cliff diving in. It was a t-shirt and some shorts that she didn’t like anymore and she’d gotten paint all over some number of years ago. She wandered back out of the tent to smile at Warren. ”You can get changed now.” she said with a smile.

And I feel like I'm some kind of Frankenstein Waiting for a shock to bring me back to life
But I don't want to spend my time Waiting for lightning to strike. “Well then I’ll keep that in mind when you’re angry and lets hope it’s not with me. Oh… well how would we test that out then? I mean would I just have to try everything out and hope that I don’t get hurt?”
He wondered what he wouldn’t be immune too; this whole immortal situation was interesting and confusing. He wouldn’t want to figure out what he wasn’t immune too then die. He wondered what Ildri wasn’t immune too but didn’t want to ask that was something he could save for a later conversation. They were having such a good time why spoil it with nasty conversation? So he pushed the question to the back burner and decided they should probably steer clear of this conversation they were headed in to and fast. He noticed Ildri seemed to physically go in to a slump but only for a moment. His questions about plants saving the day who would have known? Smiling as she said ‘don’t worry about it’ he merely perked up as she wasn’t weird out by the question. He wondered if she would now think about those kinds of things even if he chose not to be immortal. A piece of him rubbing off on her forever, this thought made him cheery and sad. The sad prospect being that he would long be dead or old and possibly living his own life somewhere else.
“Really? Well I guess it’s a first for both of us. I hadn’t been here since my freshmen year, so I’ve been here about oh four years now. So I guess it’s not that new of a place for me but newer than America. Do you like it here then?”
He wondered what it was like back when she was a child. Yes he could read about it or listen to past memories but it wasn’t the same as living in it. He wondered if she was a misfit back in those days having such a rebellious personality he imagined it couldn’t be easy. Even for women other than Ildri who wanted to do things that only men could. It seemed like a whole different world to him than it was now. Women could do so much more things that men could do, although they still couldn’t do everything. It almost baffled him how stuck in the past they were for coming so far. And traveling would have been the worse to go everywhere by horse and carriage or even slow cars that were finally invented. He really couldn’t imagine not being able to buy something new and fast like he could now. Not that he could really go out and purchase a mustang if he wanted right now but eventually he could.
“I think that would be awesome, I’d love to see places that are your favorite. I’ll be able to get a better view of what you think is spectacular. I could also show you a few of my favorite places also, well in the states. Well I’ll be the judge of that tonight!”
He made a face as she said he doesn’t have to watch and it doesn’t last long. He wondered if he would be able to stay away from her that long knowing she was in pain and not feeling well. He was sure he’d get used to it as time goes on but the first time would be a real experience. He thought about her lying outside and in a pile of blankets. She’d probably look peaceful and want to be outside since she is part bird. It’s like her going back to nature in a weird way, he’d figure that it would be interesting to witness anyway. He smiled when she said she would have no reason to run off in to the forest or well fly.
“That’s really neat that you can control how much fire comes off your wings. Glad to know you could be inside instead of nestled outside somewhere. True you do live in the forest but how do I know you don’t cause forest fires? I’m sure Smokey the bear would have a fit over that. And eventually we might possibly need a place to keep our things. Would you get another house if I moved in also or is the house you have pretty spacious?”
He hoped that if he did learn German it would be pretty easy. And with the extra confidence boost from Ildri saying that it would be he couldn’t help but think he would be a master of the language in no time. Probably having a terrible accent but it really didn’t matter as long as he could speak the language. Maybe Ildri could give him pointers, then again if they lived in Germany long enough he was sure he’d pick it up in no time.
“Hopefully I’ll be a born natural and if not you can always help me along.” Warren begins to laugh. “I’m pretty sure anyone with a secret is positive he is, I’m just surprise he hasn’t told….”
Warren stopped he was being a little too carefree about his words. He clamed up for a moment not to sure how to recover. By now he was positive it was too late to even come back from where he was going. So as he only knew how he stumbled on to new conversation idly leaving the other one in the dust. He went on to saying things about D.C. and chuckled when she said he should probably ask his parents. If he mentioned a girl they would beg him to bring her home. Well at least his mother, his father would just be pleased he had actually met someone.
“I think they will be fine with it the moment I bring it up. You just have to promise you won’t be scared off by my mother. She likes to ask questions… lots of questions. But I’m sure I can think of everything she’d say if you’d like to be prepared. Although you don’t seem to be one to be thrown off by a random question at all. At least you could get them and even now it’s a bit harder you still can.”
She would give Ildri a run for her money and would want to know where her parents were so on so forth. It would be a nail biting but exciting exchange. He could see it now his father and him relaxing while the women had a small battle of wits. He then noticed she giggled as he said he wouldn’t want the dolphins to come and ruin there kissing. As they finally made there way up the beach he nodded as she said she would get changed first then they could set up there sleeping arrangements.
“Sounds like a plan to me, I’ll get the rest of my stuff out while you are changing. And do you care if we sleep next to each other doesn’t seem like that much of a jump after kissing.”
He watched as she went up to the car a second time to grab more of her things. He then trailed up after her to grab his things from the car. Grabbing his gym bag and couple more blankets, just in case Ildri wasn’t keen with sharing blankets. As he made his way back down he noticed he took a long time gathering his things. As she was coming out of the tent when he got back down to the camp. As she said he could change now he took the cue giving her a small peck on the cheek before entering the tent and changing. He put on some comfortable sweat pants so his legs wouldn’t get cold. He then just wore a regular green T shirt and he had a sweatshirt in case he got to cold. Coming back out of the tent he looked around for Ildri for a moment before spotting her.

Regrets collect like old friends Here to relive your darkest moments I can see no way, I can see no way His statement, about him hoping her anger wouldn’t be directed at him, made her shrug a bit. ”Don’t give me a reason to be mad at you and you’ll be fine.” she stated simply. It really wasn’t hard to make her mad, but usually it was something that would make most people at least annoyed in the first place instead of a random little statement or action. It could annoy her, but it probably wouldn’t really make her mad. Then he said that they would have to try everything and hope he didn’t get hurt. That, probably would be a bad idea. ”That sounds like a horrible idea. I mean, I can definitely get hurt. If I jump off a cliff and land at the bottom I’ll definitely break bones and all that. I just heal afterwards and it takes like four days or something for me to heal a broken bone. I’m immortal not indestructible.” she said looking at him like that was a ridiculous suggestion. Which, really it was a ridiculous suggestion. She could very clearly get hurt he had seen she had scrapes after she fell out of a tree, it was just they healed because they were hardly injuries at all. If she stabbed herself or something it would take longer to heal of course.
He seemed to be a bit shocked that she had never been to Canada before, but it shouldn’t be that surprising. Though, maybe it should be with how many people came to the North American continent because of some sort of persecution or another. Usually it involved religion, and she did her best to stay far away from the religious battles that had taken place through history. It really was difficult at times, but she managed to avoid actual combat. ”I’ve been here for three years now. It’s not bad, a bit different certainly. I’m kind of used to change now though.” she stated with a smile. With as many times as she moved she definitely was used to it by now. Each place was a little different, and she was getting used to this country still in some ways. ”The climate is the same as several other places I’ve lived certainly.” she said with a smile. That was one thing she didn’t have to get used to this time. Having to adjust to temperature was kind of a pain because it usually meant she had to get different clothes. After all, she ran abnormally warm for a human, so in some places she still had to wear a tank top and shorts in the dead of winter. That definitely got her an array of weird looks too, but most took it as her being from a way different climate, though they probably were wondering which climate being that in the snow she was wearing a t-shirt. She didn’t get cold after all, that just wasn’t possible.
He seemed excited to see the places she liked most, they were usually peaceful quiet places. Sure she liked people to talk to, but she didn’t all the time. Thus, some of her favorite places were pretty secluded and pretty. ”Most of them are like this actually. A bit out of the way of civilization; quiet and peaceful.” she stated. She didn’t go to them all the time, but if she wanted time to just relax then she would go there. ”How many states have you been to?” she asked him curiously. She hadn’t been to most of them, only a few, but that might have something to do with the fact that not all of them were states yet the last time she was there. ”I guess you will be.” she mused with a smile. He started talking about how she could be inside, and she did suppose he wouldn’t know if she caused forest fires. ”Who’s Smokey the bear?” she asked. That wasn’t something she knew, and that was probably because it had to be either an American thing, or a television thing. Either way she wasn’t going to catch on unless he explained. ”I could get another house, but the current one is plenty big enough. I’ve collected quite a bit of things over the years. “ she stated with a shrug.
Hearing him say that he was hoping to be a born natural she laughed. ”Just because they share similar words, does not mean it will be easy. Especially being that you are older, the older you get the harder it is to learn a language supposedly.” she said with a smile, but then he said something odd and she tilted her head a bit. ”Told what?” she asked seeing his reaction. Clearly it was some sort of secret that Alfred hadn’t actually blabbed all over the world. Honestly, that made it more interesting, because what could be a more important secret than the fact that he was the embodiment of a country? That didn’t really make sense certainly, and now she was definitely curious. She wondered if he would actually tell her though, but that seemed fair being that he knew her secret. Well, she hadn’t willingly told him her secret, but still the fact that he knew was kind of significant. At least, it was to her being that she’d been keeping the secret for how long now? Sometimes she really wished that Alfred hadn’t walked into her room blatantly, or that she left it locked when she left her room for even a minute. Maybe she just shouldn’t keep pictures on the wall, but they were important to her, and she didn’t want to forget them, and while she probably wouldn’t it was the fact that she enjoyed having them around.
Hearing his statement she laughed slightly. ”I lived through the Crusades, I think I can handle your mother.” she said with a raised eyebrow. How bad could it be after all? She was a decent liar at this point, and so she could manage most of the questions probably. Unless his mother was a lie detector or something she should be able to manage. ”I’ve also gotten very good at lying so it shouldn’t be too bad. Though, what sort of questions would she even ask?” she asked him curiously. There were probably a standard set of questions parents asked every person interested in dating their child. She wouldn’t know the questions being that she hadn’t expressed interest in dating anyone ever. Thus she wasn’t sure what she would be asked, and what answers she would have to come up with. After all, she would have to not look surprised about having to answer a question that should be considered a normal question.
He said he would get his stuff while she changed, and then asked if she cared if they slept next to one another. ”No, just so long as you don’t mind possibly overheating. I am much warmer than your average human, and thus can never go to a hospital because they’d think I was terminally ill probably.” she noted with a smile before going in and changing into clothes. Once she got out of the tent she found him with his things and he gave her a small kiss on the cheek before going and changing. ”You should probably hang your swimsuit up so that it doesn’t just sit in a puddle.” she said with a smile before walking into the tent. She started setting up the blankets by opening a sleeping bag and laying it open then putting fluffy things on top of it. ”Hope you like sleeping on a pile of fluff.” she said with a smile before flopping on the blankets.

And I feel like I'm some kind of Frankenstein Waiting for a shock to bring me back to life
But I don't want to spend my time Waiting for lightning to strike. “I couldn’t dream of giving you a reason. Then again people do fight even if they are very compatible just how thing work I suppose. It might not be a full out fight but maybe enough to push the wrong buttons on you.”
It was true no matter what friends you had or how nice you were to each other there was the probability that one-day you may get in to a fight how ever massive or miniscule it may be. And if the two did become a couple the chance was even greater as much as he’d like to think that he was one hundred percent perfect, reality is he wasn’t. The thought slightly bugged him, but that wasn’t for a while off he hoped. He couldn’t see him doing anything to stupid besides bringing up a sore topic with her. For now he seemed to be doing well steering clear of those. But he figured he’d one day stumble upon them not knowing.
“I wonder if I’ll be able to heal like you, and your right it was silly of my to think of putting myself in danger. It would just be interesting to know what I was immune too if anything. Too bad you didn’t get a manual after you turn immortal, it would be easier. True, but your close to being indestructible you heal even if it takes some time.”
He grinned as she looked at him like he told her he was going to dunk him self in to a vat of hot oil. He was starting to get used to her stares and he couldn’t help but smile at this. She cared and it showed by her actions even though she was giving him a look as if to say don’t be stupid. It was true thinking he could do little things to see what wouldn’t hurt him he could actually seriously hurt himself. Ildri saw this before he did and he felt a little dumb for even saying anything. It was too late to take anything back and decided to just take the scolding from Ildri. It might do him good plus he’d always think about her look before he blurted things out.
“So have you been at New Academy for three years then? Or did you move here and then hear about the school? So do you like this climate better or do you like the colder places?”
He wondered if she’s flown to the top of some lonesome cold mountain. It would probably be the most peaceful thing ever. Everything untouched by man and just the way nature intended it. He bet it was beautiful on top of a mountain like that, but cold not that she had to worry about that. Since she could just raise her body temperature, the best thing about controlling fire he supposed. Then again he wondered if he could run fast enough to heat up his body. He had never tried it before but it could work he supposed. Scratching his chin he wondered if this beach would be the place to try it, possibly later he could take Ildri on a run if she wanted. Everything would be a blur till he hit hyper speed then it seemed as if time had stopped all together.
“It must be a magical place to see. Have any good spots with waterfalls? I’ve always wanted to go see one but in a secluded area with a cave behind it. Well it sounds more like a magical place I’ve dreamed up but I’m sure they are out there. Not to mention romantic. If you’re in to that kind of stuff. I’ve been to California, Oregon, Washington of course and Arizona. Not to many places but my parents decided to should see a couple states. But mostly I’ve been in Washington because my parents can’t get off work to often.”
In California he had been introduced to the beach for the first time. That was something his parent’s videotaped and played during Christmas when he returned. He wasn’t sure if it was to embarrass him or just to relive a special memory for them selves. In Oregon it was just a pretty place that they drove too and see a couple museums and in Arizona they went to the gran canyon. From what he remembered the place was massive and beautiful. The canyons were enormous and it was a long way down you could only barely make out the water at the bottom. It was a beautiful sight and something he wouldn’t forget in his lifetime.
“He’s a bear character that tells you about forest fires. And how if you don’t put out your campfire that it could cause forest fires. He’s actually pretty amusing, I’ll have to show you one day on the computer. You aren’t against the Internet too are you? Well if your house is big enough we wouldn’t have to move anything. I could only imagine how much stuff you have collected over the years.”
He could see her house having many different type of paintings and tapestries. Maybe even looking like a museum with all the era’s she has lived through. It would be interesting to take a peak it would almost be like he was looking in to her life. He had noticed she had many pictures up around her dorm some of them looking quite old. So he seemed to get the gist of what her house would look like. He remembered that day when Alfred had just burst in to her dorm, well and Chaya’s. Never had he thought that the meeting he had with her there would lead to them coming to the beach. But he couldn’t have been happier that it did. He was going to have to thank Alfred on day for introducing them.
“Well we will just have to see about that now won’t we? Maybe I’ll be the one lucky person who it’s easier for when ever. But we will only know when I start to learn different languages. I imagine that Japanese will be hard, their letters seem a bit different.”
He seemed to be more fidgety when he hears her inquire about what. He toed the sand behind his feet looking down. She had let him in on his secret not intentionally but still she shared more with him than he possibly imagined. How could he not share his secret with her? He knew she wouldn’t tell she had all ready kept her secret for so long. Biting his lip he seemed to be spit in two pieces. One part wanting to tell and longing too but the other side afraid that she might think he was weird. He didn’t have his abilities naturally. But decided honestly was the best policy and if she thought differently of him that was the consequence.
“I-I’m a government project and Alfred has known me since I was five. So the ability of speed that I have isn’t natural, my mother or at the time she was just the scientist who was giving me the serum she created made me who I am. I was just an orphan baby when they first grabbed me. And eventually my mother and father who were married and working on the same project, which was me decided to adopt me. They figured no one else would be better to take care of me.”
Looking up at her he was slightly scared how she would take this news. But he felt like he made the right choice telling her the truth. He just hoped she felt the same about his truth telling. He shoved his hands in to his pockets and lifted up his head but looked everywhere but at her eyes. He didn’t want to see confusion or worse hate in them. There night was going so well and if this messed it up he wasn’t going to ever be able to forgive himself. Lets the chips fall where they may, he remembered someone saying that once. Or was it on a TV show… maybe a movie? Well it was the best advice he was going to get right now and it seemed appropriate.
“I hope so, then again I think she’ll just like you because you’re actually interested in me. She’ll probably say something like I never though this day would come. Yeah I don’t think she will grill you too hard afraid she’ll make you run off. Oh she’ll probably ask where you are from, what your parents do and where do they live. What your going to school for, just general questions unless she tries to pull a fast one asking why your interested in me. I don’t think that will happen but sometimes she’s very unpredictable.”
As they went back up to the campsite he smiled as she said as long as he didn’t mind over heating. He didn’t mind that one bit as long as he got to sleep next to her. Besides he wasn’t sure how cold it got out here and there wouldn’t be a fire to warm him up and Ildri would do just fine. He laughed as she said she didn’t go to the hospital because the doctors would think she was terminally ill.
“I don’t mind one bit, as long as I’m next to you.”
Coming back out he was holding his shorts putting them on the back of one of the chairs. Hopefully a wind wouldn’t come and take them away but he doubted it. The beach was very peaceful and the breeze wasn’t that hard. So he through them over a chair and let them air dry he was sure that once they got back they would be as good as dry anyway.
“A pile of fluff? I suppose that sounds more comfortable than the sand. So should we get a start on cliff climbing? Or what ever we need to go?”Word Count: 1662 Tag: Ildri/Cal Notes: Rawr! Lyrics::A boy a girl and a graveyard- Jeremy Messersmith

Regrets collect like old friends Here to relive your darkest moments I can see no way, I can see no way He definitely seemed to not want to make her mad, and that itself could potentially cause an issue. Even if something made her mad, it was possible it would be something they had to discuss eventually. ”I have a temper, but it depends on the subject.” she noted simply with a light sigh. She knew it was something that she should probably work on, but it was a bit set after all this time. It did used to be worse, so that was something at least. There were still several things that definitely got her annoyed though there was no denying that. That would probably never go away either. Ah well, he would just have to deal with it, and she would probably have to make up for it a bit after she calmed down. Sure they may have a few fights, but it probably wouldn’t cause anything too major. She didn’t really want him to have to watch what he said around her all the time. That was no way to live after all. ”As long as you don’t tell me what immortality is like I think you should be fine.” she noted and then didn’t want to really continue that particular statement any further. She didn’t really think she needed to elaborate on it at all and that he would get the idea. After all, he couldn’t tell her what immortality was like if he wasn’t immortal. He could guess, but it wasn’t quite the same.
He at least seemed to realize that it would be very dumb of him to just go out and see what could hurt him and if he could heal like she did. There were a few things that wouldn’t really be a big deal, but major things she definitely wouldn’t be alright with him trying. This was especially so, if she was planning on spending quite a bit of time with him. ”I had to figure it out without a manual; I think you can manage too.” she said with a slight smile. ”Not always. Well, I do heal, everyone heals eventually from non –fatal wounds, but I don’t always heal as fast.” she said simply. Then she held out her hand and pointed out what looked like a faint burn scar on her hand. She had gotten it before realizing that she could actually get hurt. ”I wonder if you’ll develop the same allergy or not if you are turned immortal.” she said curious as to if he would or not. Definitely something to think about too when redecorating the house.
His question made her smile slightly. ”Yes, I’ve been here for three years, I came when I was invited to the school.” she said with a smile. The school wasn’t something she had heard about really from people being that she had been avoiding them a bit at the time. She was just invited, and she was slightly curious as to how they figured out what she was. Though it was entirely possible they just thought she was a mutant that controlled fire. ”I prefer colder climates, but I like it here during the winter actually. I tend to wear tank tops or sundresses year round.” she said with a smile. She might not if she was in the arctic, but it would also be ridiculously hard to decorate your house with actual furniture being that nobody lived there. After all, she had picked a country with a similar climate anyway. Though, maybe she would think about getting another place that was more north at some point to switch between the two every once and a while. If people expanded more she wouldn’t be able to stay in that house forever. They would begin to get suspicious eventually of how she was still in her twenties.
She definitely had to think a bit about his next question. She had seen several places with waterfalls, but she had to remember where they were. The general location wasn’t the issue; it was just a matter of if she would be able to get there again. ”There are a few in the Amazon; it’s just a matter of getting there again. Though maybe we could go take a look at the Niagara Falls at some point?” she suggested with a smile at him. They were in Canada after all, and so maybe they could take a weekend trip out there some time. Maybe she wouldn’t be able to fly around, but they could look at them and have a possibly romantic weekend in the future. Sounded like fun definitely. ”More than I’ve been to, but that’s probably because I was here before all the states existed. I also wasn’t there for a long period of time.” she said with a slight shrug. It was only a few years, and she decided to move somewhere else. She just wanted to explore it a bit, and found she kind of liked Europe better at the time. Then again, it wasn’t exactly a whole functioning country yet. So it was probably more interesting and she could explore more now that she didn’t have to worry about crossing borders and angering countries, guards, or natives on accident.
Then he started explaining who Smokey the bear was and she wondered why they needed such a thing in the first place. Did people really not realize that they had to put out fires or they would spread and possibly cause a forest fire? No wonder there were so many if people were that stupid, or maybe it was just that they didn’t care. ”I take it people were causing too many forest fires for that to be needed in the first place.” she said with a sigh. Then she had to laugh when he asked if she was against the Internet as well. ”I’m not against anything; there are just some things I find unnecessary. I have a laptop, and the Internet is perfectly fine. It makes research far easier, and I have to use computers a lot for my major.” she said with a smile. It was far easier to get furniture pictures on the internet rather than by going through magazines or drawing them herself. That took far too long to do, and so if she could find pictures and trace them for her designs it was much easier and the chair would actually look how it was supposed to. ”I would be willing to get another though, so that I could switch back and forth without having to worry about anyone suspecting my immortality too much. “ she said with a smile. Really, she could probably only stay for about ten years before people would get suspicious if they could see her constantly. So she would actually probably need more places to keep it a secret. Or she could just get apartments and explore the world like she had been doing for years. Either way would work just fine probably. That would work well too with Warren wanting to see the world anyway. She giggled at him saying that they would have to see if he was good at languages or not. That could definitely be amusing too. It would be especially so, if he accidentally used the wrong words in a situation because of a small pronouncing error. She would of course back him up as just learning, but it would still be a bit amusing. ”We will see certainly. Japanese is definitely different, their letters are closer to the Chinese languages and Korean languages, but even those are different from one another.” she said with a smile. Considering she didn’t know them very well either, and definitely still got confused as all hell when trying to converse with someone most of the time. It wasn’t that much of an issue, and most of them took her for a tourist who was at least trying. The fact that she tried got her some points at least. Some didn’t bother trying, and she felt like if you were in their country visiting, then you shouldn’t assume they should cater to you with your language. That was rude, and so you should at least try, even if you failed miserably, it was the thought that counted. What it didn’t mean though, was that the people should expect you to be fluent in their language, or to not speak in your own ever. It went both ways honestly.
He answered her question about what Alfred hadn’t told, and she was almost shocked that he hadn’t. Or maybe he was just trying to hide that his Government was experimenting on people. That couldn’t possibly be legal, or humane for that matter. ”So they recreated mutants, for what reason?” she asked him simply. What could the reason for that possibly be? That definitely explained how he knew about Alfred then if he knew him at five years old. Obviously he would be able to tell that Alfred wasn’t aging in the slightest. She looked over at him and noted that he was avoiding looking at her. She reached over and turned his face to look at her. ”It’s not like you had a choice in the matter. So you’re a created mutant, I’m a mythological creature. Neither of us had a choice in what we would be, it just kind of happened. I’m not entirely sure what they did is technically right, but there’s not much to be done about it now.” she said with a smile at him. She wouldn’t judge him for it, maybe his parents a bit, but that was a different story. They chose to do that to him, and while adopting him was nice; creating mutants for science couldn’t exactly be considered morally right she didn’t think.
She smiled when Warren said that he thought that his mother would like her. Usually she was pretty sure it was important to have their parents like you. That way they didn’t convince their child to break up with you for stupid reasons. The questions were a bit harder. ”I honestly have no idea where my parents are, though I could always say in Scandinavia. I’ll also have to make up what it is they do. Questions about me are far easier than about family.” she said simply with a smile. Definitely would have to think about what her parents do, though she could always just say that they are retired or something. That was kind of cheating, and she would probably ask about what they did before they retired. At least she had time to think about it so she wasn’t just blurting out answers that didn’t make sense. She heard him laugh when she stated that she couldn’t go to a hospital. It was true because a human couldn’t run at the temperature she did without risk of death. She blushed slightly when he said that he didn’t care as long as he was next to her. Then he commented on the pile of fluff she was currently laying on and how it was more comfortable than sand certainly. ”I thought you wanted to maybe eat first. We have plenty of time until the middle of the night after all.” she said getting up and walking out of the tent. She smiled at him before pressing her lips against his in a kiss. "You can also stay down here rather than up the cliff." she noted with a smile after she pulled back from the kiss.

And I feel like I'm some kind of Frankenstein Waiting for a shock to bring me back to life
But I don't want to spend my time Waiting for lightning to strike. “Well I suppose we all have tempers on different subjects. I mean we can’t be happy about every topic all the time. It just not something that’s reasonable. So chances are eventually I’ll probably make you mad about something I said. And you will make my angry about something you said. Once we come to that bridge we will just have to opt to fix it or understand the reasoning behind the other person. Even if at first we storm off, I know I wouldn’t be able to stay made at you for long.”
He knew that eventually something would come up that they would have a small or large fight about. But like he had just said as long as they come back to each other eventually and sort out why they shouldn’t have a problem. This was another dilemma about getting to know a person in a relationship aspect. He at this moment didn’t really know her all that well. Not that he was going to ask her out tonight or anything. But what happens if he does invest time in to this and it just simply doesn’t work out. Not to mention how would Ildri feel, from what he’s learned so far this is the first time she’s really opened up. He couldn’t imagine hurting her and wouldn’t want too.
“Don’t worry I won’t tell you how it’s like to be immortal, unless of course I am. But I promise I’ll wait a thousand years before I even bring up a word about being immortal. That way I’ll actually have truth to say about the subject.”
He gave her a small smile hoping she’d take this as a promise. Honestly how could he tell her how it was to be immortal when he hadn’t even taken the first step? Then again he could imagine some people would probably try to foresee what it would be like. Warren on the other hand wanted to wait; he did imagine what it would be like. But knew sometimes reality and imagination were too opposite things and in this case they were. Something’s he was sure you could predict like riding a rollercoaster and how fun it will be. But Immortality was a bit different he had nothing to compare it too. As there conversation continues to Ildri not having a manual, well Ildri was kind of like a personal manual since she knew what to expect and what not to expect.
“Well aren’t you like a personal manual? I don’t have to figure this out on my own when I have you. Plus I’m a really good listener, so if you really don’t want me to do something I won’t. And true everyone does heal just a lot slower… Oh wow how did that happen? And what do you mean by allergy?”
He glanced at her hand again and looked at the scar. Was she at one point not able to heal so fast? After she got the burn did her body make it’s self-able to heal her wounds faster? There were so many questions to be answered and he figured all in good time that they would be.
“So you’ve been here for three years and I haven’t noticed you around school? Well I suppose it makes sense I was buried in my books most of the time. Plus I’m a grade a head of yours so we would have never really crossed paths during school. “ He shrugged but once again would have to personally thank Alfred for introducing them. “Cold isn’t to bad I could deal with it as long as I had a couple warm jackets. But if I had to live in an igloo we may have problems there. Well maybe this winter I will get to witness you in a sundress and knee deep in snow. That would be a fun sight to see. And I’m sure others would love to give you quizzical expressions.”
He wondered how the fiery red head escaped his wandering eyes. She seemed to go outside as much as he did and yet they never crossed paths. Then again Ildri did like to set herself up in trees as he discovered a couple weeks ago. And like then he had no idea she was up there until the evil squirrel pushed her out of the tree.
“Well maybe when I’m immortal we can go look for them? It’s not like we wouldn’t have all the time in the world. But for now I think that Niagara Falls would be a more suitable place to go. I think that would be a fun weekend to have, just you and me. We should definitely make that happen at some point. Well maybe we can take an adventure through the states at one point then; I promise they are more fun now. Then when you traveled over there last.”
It was true America was much different now. Although in some states they still had an old mindset but it wasn’t anything major. He was sure in some back wooded areas they would take you head off no problem. But if they suck to the cities everything would be fine. Besides the normal things you worry about in cities, which is being mugged or stabbed. Then again with there powers combined if someone tried to mess with them they would be in a world of trouble. He doubted anything like that would happen and decided not to voice that at all.
“Yes, a lot of people thought that the fires would just burn then selves out. Sometimes it’s true but not always the case. People can be very dumb sometimes.” Shakes his head but lights up at her next statement. “Well at least you have a laptop, and why didn’t you ever tell me before? We could chat in classes or on breaks. Not to mention it doesn’t cost a thing to instant message or sent an email. Oh do you design things on the computer or just take images?”
They honestly probably didn’t even need to instant message since he had her phone number. But he would be able to switch it up or be able to chat with her if his phone ever breaks. Not that he couldn’t just go see her at her dorm. But would he really just want to swing by randomly? What if she was busy?
“It could be our house, instead of just yours too. And it would be a nice change of scenery to go back and forth to both houses while we aren’t exploring anything.”
He more and more he kept talking about immortality the more he kept say us and we to Ildri. He hadn’t accepted the offer quite just yet but it certainly sounded like he had. He wondered if this was giving her mixed signals and didn’t want to get her hopes up if this all didn’t work out. But it’s not like he could revise what he had all ready said. He figured she probably knew he was excited if this all did work out.
“I don’t know if I will ever get that language unless we force ourselves in to there school system. But then again I don’t think that would work out too well. I mean aren’t they way more advanced in learning than we are? Maybe we will just avoid all Asian type countries. It just doesn’t seem fair to exclude them though….”
It would terribly hard to communicate, but like Ildri said she knew a few phrases but the language as a whole was hard to learn. Would any one even talk to them if they didn’t know the language that well? They could always try and stay there for a while and if it didn’t fit their lifestyle it’s not like they couldn’t just leave and go somewhere else in the world.
“I haven’t asked really, I only assume they made me to see if they can do it. I mean I’m sure they’ve known about mutants for a while and just wanted to be prepared in case anything like this happened. I mean a school full of mutants and some countries that don’t play fair. I think they just wanted to be ahead. But as of right now I’m the one and only. Think about it more as if I’m a captain America project. That’s what Alfred said to me at least, maybe not in those words but that’s how I took it.”
He voice was lower than usual the happy tone wasn’t present. Not that he wasn’t happy being what he was, he had come to terms with that a while ago. But he was scared what she would think of him. It was silly to be afraid what others would think of you but still it was a rational fear. He kept avoiding her gaze he felt her take his face in her hands and gently made him look at her.
“No I didn’t even know what was going on at the time. I was only a baby when they put the serum in to me but I guess that’s the way they created it. It bonded with your genes and had to grow with you or else it would reject. At least that’s what my mother told me. I don’t know if it’s right either but because of this whole experiment I have two loving parents who care about me. Who knows where I would have ended up if they hadn’t picked me.”
It was true right at this moment he could be working in a burger shack. Not that there was anything wrong with that but he did get perks like being able to go to college and live comfortably. His parents had given him a whole other life outside of the foster care system. He could have been abused as a child and not cared for only in a home so they could have his checks every month. Or it could have gone the opposite way to a nice family and he could have been normal living out the rest of his childhood as… well someone else entirely.
“Instead of lying you could always just use your mortal parents and say they are deceased. That would pretty much clam up that conversation if you really don’t want to get in to it. I know my mother wouldn’t try and pry asking why and what not. “
He shifted nervously not sure what else to say about the subject.
“Yeah maybe I should eat first or else I made all those sandwiches for nothing. Are you hungry at all? Awww do I have too stay down here?”Word Count: 1787 Tag: Ildri/Cal Notes: =D Lyrics::A boy a girl and a graveyard- Jeremy Messersmith

Regrets collect like old friends Here to relive your darkest moments I can see no way, I can see no way He brought up a fair point with the fact that they couldn’t be happy about every topic all of the time. Nobody was like that, and if they were then there was probably something seriously wrong with them. You couldn’t be pleased about every topic because then did you really have passion for anything? It was definitely things that couldn’t really exist together. If you had passion for one thing then you had to be against something else in some way or it wasn’t really passion. ”I can hold a grudge forever, but it depends on the situation. Not everything needs that extreme sort of action. Mostly I just have to blow off steam, or get even depending. If it was a little argument I can’t imagine I’d have to do anything other than blow off steam.” she said with a slight smile. Then smiled more when he said he wouldn’t tell her what it was like to be immortal. Good, that was probably one of the things she hated most. ”Even then I can’t imagine why you would need to discuss it, but then you’ll at least know instead of making guesses.” she said simply with a shrug. Definitely was a pet peeve of hers that some people assumed they could tell her what it was like being immortal when they were teenagers.
She giggled a bit when he said she was a personal manual. That was a decent point she supposed being that he didn’t have to figure out everything on his own. ”There are some less reckless ways of figuring out what you are and are not immune to than going out and trying to get yourself killed to see what happens.” she said with a slight smile. He asked about the scar on her hand and she knew she was going to have to explain it the second she brought it up. ”I picked up a cast iron skillet. Apparently iron burns me, and so I consider it an allergy of sorts. It wasn’t warm; I was just picking it up out of a cupboard.” she said simply while looking at the faint burn mark on her hand. It was just a split second of touching it and she had let go rather quick. Like a child touching a hot pot on a stove. She imagined that was like to be hurt by fire, and she definitely didn’t like it in the slightest.
Hearing him talk she mused it over a bit. ”I mostly avoided people honestly. I’ve gotten sick of watching friends die, and so I was avoiding making them. The only thing is that I can’t do that forever, I can’t just be alone like that for too long.” she said with a slight frown. Definitely had just gone to classes and then would disappear off campus for a while to avoid having to really socialize, or she would lock herself in her room. So really, he probably wouldn’t have seen her other than in a hallway maybe. Then he said he would be fine with cold as long as he had jackets. ”I did not mean that far north. I’d rather not live in the arctic honestly. I like actual houses, not igloos.” she said with a smile and a raised eyebrow. ”You probably will get to see me in a sundress this winter, and I’m good at ignoring the stares I get for it.” she said with a smile. She had done it last winter, and this winter would likely be no different. The girl definitely stuck to her patterns that was for sure.
Him saying about when he was immortal made her think that he already assumed that this would work out, and she had to remind herself that it might not. She wanted it to, but things didn’t happen by wanting them. So she would just have to work to make it something that could be possible. There was also the fact that she would have to do some research on how to turn someone immortal. That was a bit crucial to this plan working after all, and so she may have to track her parents down for that one. They should know even if they couldn’t turn human. ”Sure, if you become immortal we can look for the waterfalls in the Amazon.” she said simply. It was a bit too risky to take him there otherwise. Too many poisonous creatures, predators, and possibly lethal bugs around that would kill a human or make them seriously ill. If they were far in the forest then it wasn’t likely that they would be able to get help either. ”That does sound like a fun weekend.” she said with a smile at him. They had already planned their next trip and they weren’t even done camping yet. He said they could explore the states and that sounded interesting too actually. ”Okay, will we visit all of the states, or just the most interesting ones?” she asked him with a smile.
Hearing him say that people thought that fires would burn themselves out she blinked at him. ”Seriously? I suppose if there was nothing around that could catch that’s possible, but really that’s just dumb.” she said incredulously. His comment about the laptop made her shrug a bit. ”I didn’t think about it, and text messaging is just as easy, so I didn’t really see the point honestly.” she said with a shrug and a smile. ”It depends on the assignment. I have done both though.” she stated with a smile at him. Then he said that it could be their house instead of just hers also. She blushed lightly and smiled at him. ”We’ll see.” she said not wanting to really ruin the mood, but he was jumping ahead of himself quite a bit with that statement. Really she wanted this to work out, and he obviously did too, it was just a matter of if it would or not. That was the question right at the moment definitely, and only time would tell she supposed.
”You would be surprised what you learn just from living in a place. You have time to gather knowledge in order to keep up too you know.” she said pointing it out to him. They didn’t have to go to Japan soon; they had other places to explore. ”I can manage if we act like tourists, or just stay for a short amount of time. They have some nice places to visit certainly, but I doubt I’ll ever be able to write in the languages.” she said with a shrug. If you lived surrounded in a language it was easier to learn it that was certain. Then they were talking about him. It was interesting to learn a bit about him after talking about herself for so long, though she wasn’t expecting the fact that he was an experiment. ”So they wanted to make sure they could make mutants in the event of a war? That…seems to be almost asking to be the one to start it because they assume other countries will use mutants.” she said a bit surprised. That was definitely an odd reason for doing something. He would have just been a normal human if they hadn’t picked him, and they probably would have never met. ”Captain America?” she asked questioningly. She didn’t understand that reference.
She noted that this seemed to be a rather touchy topic for him, so she wasn’t going to pry too much about it. He definitely seemed to be almost afraid of her reaction. Who was she to judge how someone else started when she had spent quite a bit of time lighting people on fire while annoyed at them and not acting human. Then they moved back to her and what she would say to his parents. ”That’s a good point. It would definitely be easy to get out of questions with that.” she noted when he suggested she could just say that they were dead. Then they switched back to talking about maybe he should eat. ”You probably should eat at some point definitely. Honestly? I don’t get hungry. I have no real need for food actually.” she admitted with a small smile. She did and could eat, but most of the time it was just to keep up appearances, or because she liked something in particular. ”I won’t be up there for very long. I’ll just jump and then fly down here really.” she stated with a smile.

And I feel like I'm some kind of Frankenstein Waiting for a shock to bring me back to life
But I don't want to spend my time Waiting for lightning to strike. “Well I suppose if you do have a grudge forever at that point we’d have an eternity to figure it out and if we can’t. Well something went terribly wrong in the process before hand. Blowing off steam I don’t mind but getting even? Isn’t that taking it a bit too far? Well of course unless I pranked you then you have ever right to get back at me. But over an argument I can’t really seeing you going to those length at all.” Giving her a warm smile. “Yeah I don’t see why either but who knows I might just want to chit chat about being immortal in the future sometime.”
He shrugged at this comment he wasn’t sure what he would want to talk about it in the future. Immortality might just be a subject at one point he will want to discuss for one reason or another. He might end up finding he’s not dealing with the situation too well or that he can’t believe how well he is dealing with being immortal. With that kind of leap your going to have some sort of emotional combat with yourself. Not that he had abundance of friends that he was super close with and afraid to see die. The only friend he had that he couldn’t bare to lose would be Alfred. As an immortal himself… well unless America combusts and he goes along with it, Warren would have nothing to worry at the point. His parents would die, but that’s a fact whether or not he does choose to be immortal. Most of the factors that he was counting up came to the conclusion of becoming immortal was a go.
“Sometimes I man has to be reckless to feel alive. I’m only joking; I think your idea is brilliant that we can find less dare devil things to do then go jump off buildings. Iron skillets hmm… well that’s good to know I won’t bring any of those home. Something that burns someone who controls fire that’s interesting. I just hope I don’t have an allergy to anything.”
It was probably going to happen on a normal day. Usually messed up things happen on normal happy days or so he’s come to figure out with himself. He also guessed it was going to be something he uses a lot and one day bam he is going to be allergic too it. He supposed everyone had weaknesses and even though he would be immortal it wasn’t like he was indestructible no matter how cool it sounded. Then there conversation turned to why Ildri avoided people and liked to dwell in secluded places.
“I don’t understand but I could only imagine and maybe one day I will understand what you go through. I wouldn’t want to make friends either if they kept dying I’m sure every one is harder than the last. At least you have some nation friends now right? I mean they probably aren’t going anywhere for a while.” Trying to make his voice sound hopeful but it was filled with too much happiness making him sound unsure. “Are you sure? I mean if you want to build a little igloo and fight off polar bears and other artic animals I would do it for you.” Smiled at the change of subject and decided to joke a bit to lighten the mood. “I hope so! Sometimes over winter break I go back home to Washington but I’m sure I’ll see you in a sundress in the snow sometime!”
“That sounds like a wicked adventure in its self going to the Amazon. I’m sure there are so many new and exciting things to view there. Where would we stay if we went? Where did you stay the last time, it still might be there?” He blinked or a moment so many questions. “Ah yes, Niagara Falls sounds like a safe vacation. I’m surprise I actually haven’t been there yet. I’ve been in Canada for three years and still haven’t made a venture for it.” Shakes his head at him self mostly. “Well I’m sure all the states can be interesting in one way or another just depends on your definition of interesting.”
It was true some people think the largest ball of twine is interesting while others didn’t think much of it. They could also go to theme parks if they chose or stay on a more museum and artifacts route. He didn’t mind at all either way, his parents would drag him to museums when he was younger and he learned to enjoy them. From historical museums to regular art galleries although he was no pro at telling good art from bad. He chuckled as Ildri began to talk about Smokey the bears warning to people not to start forest fires.
“Your telling me, people like that shouldn’t be allowed in to national park for camping. They shouldn’t even be allowed near trees to be honest.” Thinking for a moment before answering. “Yes I suppose your right, text message is the easiest way of communication.” He nodded as she said it depends on the assignment not really much more he could add and moves on to the next part of their conversation. “Yes your right, time will tell.”
It was true Warren jumped the gun on that one. He was just excited to even be talking about the prospect of being able to have the chance to decide. He had to think about Ildri’s feelings also and with this up and down he was surprised she didn’t run away yet. Her head not exploding from all the mixed signals he was giving off at the moment.
“A bit of research wouldn’t hurt either and if we decide it’s not for us well maybe it’s for the better. Who knows it might be fun to go for a week and get the heck out of there. Yes, that could work surely and technically wouldn’t we be tourists for a while?”
He wondered how long after you came to a country to stay you weren’t considered a tourists anymore. Was it until you made residence there? Or if you were living in a hotel for at least a month and your acquainted with the city were you then no longer a tourist? Why was he asking so many questions right now?
“I’m not sure if that’s the whole truth or they just wanted to see if they could do it. I never really got in to details with my mom it wasn’t important to me since I’m the only one. It’s not like they are building an army of mutants to my knowledge. That would be something you would have to ask Alfred. Oh captain America he is a super hero comic but mostly he was injected with this serum to make him stronger for the army. I kind of see myself like that just not used for the army and I didn’t volunteer for this either. But I’m sure if they did want to use me they could.”
That was a terrible summary of Captain America but he really didn’t want to go in to excruciating details. Maybe he’d see if she wanted to watch the movie one day and she’d get what he was trying to say. But for now she would have to deal with the crappy details he gave her. It was a hard topic to discuss because he was never allowed the opportunity to talk about it before. Well besides to his parents but they knew more about what went in to him than Warren did.
“Another plus is you wouldn’t have to lie to my family that bad and it keeps it simpler for me to recall information. Because best believe me my mom will give me a small quiz on what you said later I’m sure.”
He agreed with Ildri that he should eat also; he grabbed the small cooler that was in the tent and opened it. Taking a turkey sandwich out he grabbed some mayo and mustard and began using his finger to smear the condiments around. He looked at her as she said he only eats to keep up appearance that she didn’t need to consume food.
“Why don’t you need to eat? Don’t you still have to keep up your strength and feed you body?” He smiled as she said she wouldn’t be up there very long. “Well I suppose that’s ok, wouldn’t want to get burned anyway. I’m sure that’s an unpleasant feeling.”Word Count: 1426 Tag: Ildri/Cal Notes: posty post Lyrics::A boy a girl and a graveyard- Jeremy Messersmith
