Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way
Thinking about what he said she smiled slightly. ”It would have to be really bad for me to hold a grudge like that.” she said simply. It wasn’t as if she held a grudge for no reason at all, though she may be holding a few against the dead, but that was because they seriously pissed her off. It wasn’t her fault they were morons and never apologized properly before they died. Thus, she stayed mad at them. ”Depends, I got even with Alfred, but he cheated and didn’t feel bad about it with two different people. Who knows how long it would have gone on if we hadn’t walked in on it? Thus, I may have walked out of my room and forced him into admitting it along with shooting down all of his excuses. Like him saying he was handcuffed. Like he couldn’t break a pair of handcuffs?” she said rolling her eyes slightly. So, as long as Warren wasn’t planning on cheating on her there would be no real reason for her to get even. She couldn’t stand cheating, but she would have to get even before deciding to definitely leave. Like she would stick with someone that cheated on her? They were more likely to be struck by lightning in the middle of a forest than win her back after cheating.
When he said a man has to be reckless to feel alive she just raised an eyebrow at him, but then he said he was joking and she shook her head. ”Anything Iron will burn me. I heal like a human would after it burns me too. Even a small touch is close to your average second or third degree burn.” she said with a sigh. It hurt far more than most injuries she got too. Or maybe it was the fact that those didn’t hurt for very long, and these burns did. ”I’m not sure it has to do with the fire itself, it might be a phoenix thing in general because it burns me rather than your typical allergic reaction of hives or whatever.” she said with a light frown. It didn’t make sense because she had never heard of an allergy causing burns like that other than the sun, and even then it was closer to hives she thought. Thus it didn’t make sense as just an allergy, but it was easiest to explain it in that way certainly.
Ildri definitely avoided people for long periods of time because she couldn’t handle the death constantly. It was hard enough dealing with it as much as she did already. ”You probably will if you end up immortal. I can’t imagine you’d want to spend all your time with only me, you’ll want to hang out with someone else and find you can only spend a few years doing so.” she stated with a small frown. She didn’t particularly like this topic of conversation. ”I’ve watched too many people die, I’m sick of it, but I can’t just be alone.” she said with a sigh. Sure now she had nations to talk to, but she was mad at the ones she was friends with because of them being jerks and whatnot. ”I’m positive I don’t want an igloo.” she said simply with a slight smile. The conversation definitely needed a change because she wasn’t really all that thrilled at the moment. There were definitely topics she liked to avoid, and anything to deal with how her immortality impacted her social life did not put her in a good mood. ”The winter lasts longer than winter break I’m sure.” she said with a raised eyebrow. It was Canada, and so snow was pretty common.
She just blinked at him when he asked where she stayed when she was in the Amazon. One would think it would be obvious where you would stay if you were in the middle of a forest. ”The middle of the forest? It would basically be camping. It’s still a lot of dense forest and not many people have explored most of it. They’re still finding unknown species in it.” she pointed out simply. ”I don’t think you typically go to Niagara Falls by yourself.” she said after thinking about it for a moment. It was a good point actually being that it was supposed to be a couples type of thing or families. She was pretty sure people didn’t just go there by themselves. She just shrugged when he said all the states could be interesting depending on the person’s definition of interesting. She just shook her head when he said the types of people that left their fires burning shouldn’t be allowed in national parks for camping. ”They shouldn’t be allowed anywhere for camping, not even their own back yard.” she noted with a frown.
A bit of research on Japan definitely wouldn’t hurt being that while she had been there, it was not recently and she knew it had changed quite a bit since then. Places always did change because typically she visited for a few years then didn’t go back for over a hundred. ”There are different types of tourists. Ones who expect you to learn their language and cater to them, and the one that at least tries to learn something from the experience.” she explained with a smile. One type of tourist nobody liked, the other type was at least tolerated usually. She listened to him talking and pondered what reason they could have for creating a mutant. Did the government fund things just to see if they could do them? He explained who Captain America was, and noted that it probably wasn’t something intended to actually be taken seriously. Seemed a lot of people tried to do things that weren’t supposed to be taken seriously though, so it wasn’t that surprising honestly. People came up with crazy ideas all the time, and who they discussed it with sometimes took them seriously and did something with it. That either ended up as a good idea, or a very dumb one depending on the situation.
He said that his mother would probably quiz him on what she said later and she smiled a bit. ”Just to see if I’m lying or if you were paying attention?” she asked with a raised eyebrow. His questions made her shrug. ”Because I’m a Phoenix is the only real explanation I have. I don’t need food or anything to drink. My body’s strength doesn’t change no matter how much or how little I eat, and it doesn’t need fed. “ she stated simply. Really she had no idea why that was the case, she just knew that it was because she certainly didn’t need it when she was under six, and she never got hungry or thirsty ever. Clearly she managed just fine without it too going with the fact that she didn’t have to keep up appearances around Chaya anymore and thus didn’t really bother with food usually.
